That UK team that came to Austin was missing basically its entire backcourt that night

True, but they certainly don't seem particularly daunting.  And we weren't completely healthy.  We're a different team with Mark on the "point" and Pope playing where he excelled at OSU and why we recruited him to the portal.  Weaver is an underrated asset for us.  Not declaring a win over UK if we meet them, but I wouldn't be dismissive of our chances.

  2. My father told me many stories about Kenneth Hall's exploits when I was a little kid.  Said he should have been an NFL HOFer had it not been for injuries.  He also had stories of the Koy family and the San Antonio battles of Warren McVea and Linus Baer.  RIP Mr. Hall.

if ben mccollum is able to recruit well, handle NIL well, and particularly work the portal well then he’s going to be a success wherever he goes. those are some big-ass “if’s” that a lot of people want to ignore. iu should not take on that risk. iowa seems like a more appropriate landing spot for him imo. especially if iu still has any big boosters who care about hoops (which i have to assume they do).

I was surprised but apparently Drew and TJ joined Brad Stevens in turning the Hoosiers down. I kind of have to wonder what the heck is going on there.

  4. Lots to unpack, but obvious ones are that early in the season they planned to have Mark playing the point and Pope at the position he played at Corvallis.  Why did that change?  Both look better in this tournament, shouldn't have taken this long.  A healthy Weaver would've helped a lot, but none of these things could overcome the ineptitude of the staff.

    Ballgame

And it absolutely pisses me off none of our former coaches had these styles of play here.

Barnes is a better coach now.  He doesn't have generational talents like TJ or KD.  He was good for our program but had gotten stale.  His new digs allowed him to make a new start.  What pisses me off is that Rodney should have a little insight into Barnes.  If he does it doesn't show.  In any event, low T is a far better team than we are.  Next coach up.  What else can you say?  (Obligatory, "Have you forgotten where you are?")

I mean TCU has zero history outside of being pretty good in the 60s. They went 16 years between tourney appearances, then 11 years between tourney appearances, then 20 years between tourney appearances before Dixon showed up. I guess they could fire him but what is the expectation there exactly? They are one of the worst P4/P5 programs over the last 50 years.

They also have a potential buyout/rehire looming in football - which the fanbase and BMDs assuredly care more about.

TCU is surprisingly lacking in NIL despite a wealthy alumni base.

LOL this is how checked out I am -- I told myself "hey make sure you tune in to the game" and guess what I did?  Forgot about the game.  I guess I'm good luck.  Should I watch or bail?  We want a win or no?

Yeah.  And I want us to shit all over ATM next round.

Damn, forgot Andy Katz was a thing. Wiki says he’s with BTN now.

He's managed to return to his Wisconsin roots.  I like Katz, he doesn't put on a dog and pony show. It was stupid when he got laid off at the four letter and they kept idiots instead of him.

I've watched both Drake and Bradley this season and both are very good.  They'd both beat a lot of teams that will be in the tournament.
