  1. Aggy putting its boot up Saban's ass. Can't be overstated how much them pulling this off would absolutely fuck us. Which is why it will, of course, happen. The curse is real.
  2. Yeah.. I think if anything this will just slow the process down. We had a shot to really capitalize on the momentum and get his commitment. Maybe still can if we rebound well and handle things against OSU and Baylor (big 'IF' there, I know). Georgia is the 'safe' bet for him but not exactly a sexy option. They also have zero leverage in terms of trying to get him to commit there early. Should have plenty of time to keep working the situation. Outside of Texas I just don't see him committing to anyone before the Spring.
  3. And a response like this tells me you have no sense of humor or ability to detect hyperbole. The offense did more than what should have been enough down the stretch to carry the lead and sustain the win. When you add in the 6-8 minute commercial breaks on both sides of every possession change the defense had plenty of rest. Nor did they even look gassed. They were just not at all in the right position to make plays and the rare times they were they shit themselves and got outclassed or couldn't make a tackle to save their fucking life. edit: enough about this shit either way. This isn't the post game thread and I shouldn't have started this line of convo here anyway.
  4. I get both your points. They are valid. We would have won if we could have simply run the minutes off the clock with some sustained drives in the second half. But we gave up 27 fucking points (not counting the additional 7 points off the fumbled KR) in the final 16 minutes of the game. Even if we just punted on first down every time they kicked it back off to us they shouldn't have been able to do that. Our defense rolled over, shit itself and cried for the entirety of the second half and that is absolutely who is ultimately to blame. Context matters, and I would honestly believe you if you told me Jake Majors and Karic had bet money on OU to win, but come on.. 662 fucking yards with ANY context is just absurdly unacceptable.
  5. They scored 54 fucking points off only one Texas turnover. For you to blame anything but our defense makes you fucking retarded even by Surly standards. Just stop. You can crawl as fully up your own asshole as you want trying to argue theoretical "well if we had just done this one thing then that one play wouldn't have happened" bla bla fucking bla. 662 yards.
  6. I hope he watched the first 8 minutes and then decided to go throw dice in the parking lot for the rest of the game or something
  7. Yep. The easiest number to remember now is 34 as the commitment cap. 25 + 2 (K and LS are not going to be on scholarship if we need the spots) + 7 (assuming the transfer portal compensation vote happens tomorrow and it 100% will; these guys will find 7 bodies to portal out if they need to).
  8. Iirc he had a prior break on the Talus bone and this time developed a really bad bone spur at that location that needed removing with surgery. Guy has all kinds of medical red flags but obviously his upside makes him still worthy of jerking ourselves dry when/if he does commit here tomorrow. Ideal fit for the slot in Sark's system. edit: 'Ideal fit for the slot' would also be an amazing band name for a group of ex players.
  9. Skinner is going to Bama. No point in anyone deluding themselves about it. We needed FSU to fall apart and they thankfully have but Saban made him a priority recently and we all know how that goes. Even our more optimistic insiders always said our landing him would likely be dependent upon his Bama offer not being committable. Thompson should absolutely be ours though even if we get spanked by OU. Only question mark remains our shitty QB play (and holy fuck was Thompson terrible yesterday) but Sark should have no issues arguing we can just snag a better one in the portal.
  10. No clue how widespread it is currently but some school districts have implemented random drug testing for all students involved in extracurricular activities. I could understand if they were screening for PEDs, as a deterrent, but in most cases this includes scanning for recreational drug usage as well.
  11. O'Brien will be getting a HC job almost for certain after this season. Definitely before Arch ever actually plays a game. Similar deal with Kiffin and Ole Miss; anyone actually expect him to still be there by 2023? I can't see him landing at Alabama unless he first commits elsewhere, breaks it due the wheels falling off that program and then ends up liking whomever they get to inevitably replace O'Brien. Even then they've seemingly made it clear they do not want to go anywhere that already has an elite 2022 QB on board so some dynamics within the Bama QB room might end up having to change also. edit: https://247sports.com/player/ty-simpson-46056473/ Though possible Simpson won't be seen as a hurdle to early playing time. He is highly rated but may not be a guy Arch and his family fear him being able to beat out.
  12. Looks like someone who takes a yearly group trip to Thailand 'without the wives'.
  13. Pretty sure OU pulling three of the top five players from Cali in any given year is in fact a new thing. Less fucking retarded takes for the love of god.
  14. I have a slightly used Hyundai I can contribute to the cause. Maybe Harris prefers a ride with better gas mileage?
  15. Did he ever rule out Sebastion Cheeks? UNC defense is an absolute goddamn mess and at the same time there is a clear chance to get significant playing time with us as a FR at LB. Makes more sense to me than Anderson or someone else already wanting to flip just based on what we've seen so far.
  16. Did more information come out today? Last I've seen was the update in the Murphy thread just saying 'clavicle injury' but that it wasn't serious enough for him to even be in a sling.
  17. This is going to turn into an LSU vs USC battle for Urban Meyer.
  18. This was all about LSU. There is buzz from both the LSU and Aggy side that they were already in talks with Jimbo trying to work out a deal for if/when they replace the ogre. Highly doubt LSU could or would match the terms he was already getting but this makes it that much harder to walk away even if LSU is the better gig. As to the timing there is some grumbling they've lost momentum over the summer with a few key targets due to negative recruiting from the rest of the SEC all claiming Jimbo is gone after this year. 'Why join that irrelevant program that will be 6-6 every yr once Jimbo walks?' is being pushed hard by Georgia to certain guys they are battling over. Could be why they pushed the extension now instead of waiting to see if the LSU job even came open first.
  19. Only LBs we are still targeting are Perkins, Barton (Utah) and Snelling (Nevada). I imagine we will continue to work on Patton, also, despite his Baylor commitment. Of those three we haven't heard much at all about Barton nor Snelling in awhile (unless I've just missed it) and I'm not sure we are even still in the mix with them. Perkins isn't worth discussing until we are firmly locked into the SEC for the 2022 season. I guess it is possible we could reach on another LB but I fully expect this ends up being a one LB class (Eoghan Kerry) with maybe Patton as a late flip. If we have a good year under PK and Choate the talent we can snag from the portal is likely to be a hell of a lot better than the upside on another 3 star reach.
  20. https://twitter.com/turnUplevee/status/1425990409235451904?s=20 This puts Bama back in the market for a Rb. Wonder if this puts Miller back up in the air. Can't imagine they would want Blue with all the drama attached. edit: Le'Veon Moss has opened up back up his recruitment. Looks like I failed to get the tweet itself in and only the link. Oh well
