  1. That's no shit. Dumbass Napier with the double reverse flea flicker after getting the ball at midfield up 12-0 was the biggest turning point in that game. instead of going up 15 or 19 they punt, FSU drives for a TD, & UF misses the FG at half. Huge mistake on top of all the dumb penalties let FSU escape. Rodemaker was an absolute liability for most of the game.
  2. I don't think OSU ranking is a big deal with regard to them potentially sneaking into the playoffs. I think it's a big indicator of how the committee views us & illustrates our inability to sneak into the playoffs. 2 weeks ago I would have argued (and I actually may have argued) that UT could sneak in over UO &/or FSU if we looked good the last 2 weeks while winning the Big 12 & Bama won the SEC. I thought the Bama win + Bama winning the SEC + common opponent with UO (TTU) would be the catapult we needed to jump an ugly 13-0 FSU or even 12-1 UO. OSU being ranked above us squashes that argument because it can no longer be viewed as us nipping at UO's heels. Instead of UO being 5a and UT 5b it's more like UW is 3a & UO is 3b while UT is solidly 7. The championship games will allow us to move up to 5th (maybe) but not higher than that without upsets happening.
  3. This is where I'm at (other than losing to Fla because that's not happening). It's exactly what Bama is facing this year. Play a tough OOC opponent, get beat, go undefeated the rest of the way & win your conference & you still need help. Next year it won't keep that team out of the playoffs, but it could very well be the difference between having a first round bye or not. Or, if you add another loss, the difference between having home field advantage in the first round or not. It'd be much better for your playoff chances to just not schedule those games & go 10-2 or 11-1.
  4. By slotting OSU between us the committee has made its plan clear w/ regards to championship weekend. For those saying "these rankings don't matter until the last one" you're just wrong because the committee is going to base their next set of rankings off of this one + new results. Will we jump OSU with a win? Most likely yes, but they've eliminated any debate that we could have had over whether or not we could win impressively enough to jump UO should they win in an ugly manner. Their reasoning? Because UO dispatched of Oregon St. with ease which is another PAC team that the committee really respects. How do we know that? Because they were ranked 11 a couple of weeks ago before their close loss to UW (and because the CFP chair literally said so). The committee isn't setting us up for a complete upheaval of the top 5 this week unless complete chaos ensues. We know exactly where everyone stands & the only result that may change things is a Bama upset over UGA. Otherwise you're going to get UM, UW/UO, FSU/UT, & UGA. And UT better not limp to the finish line vs. OKST because it's pretty clear that they don't respect UTs SOS as it is.
  5. It's because they're using different sets of criteria. If you're an undefeated P5 team then you're in. If you're a 1-loss team then it's simply a matter of who the committee likes more. They like UO most because Nix has looked incredible & they're giving the benefit of the doubt to the PAC this year (for some reason beyond our mere mortal comprehension). They like OSU more than UT for reasons that were unexplained but that one doesn't include completion percentage since QE has a better one than McCord. The B1G has gotten the benefit of the doubt since the CFP inception so I'm guessing that's why.
  6. Bama =/= UO so it's a moot point. This particular committee has shown their affinity for beating bad teams by a lot instead of better teams by a little. We're not jumping UO with a Bama win. If the P5 champs are UT, Bama, UO, FSU, & UM it'll be us vs. Bama vying for the last spot. How that ends up coming out of the grinder is, obviously, up for debate. But the committee has made it clear that we're not nipping on UO's heels like I thought we were 2 weeks ago, they view them as the definitively better team & them beating UW would only solidify that. Which is all a bunch of bullshit, but it is what it is at this point. The B1G has gotten the benefit of the doubt for the entire playoff system, & the PAC is somehow getting the benefit of the doubt this year for reasons only the committee knows.
  7. There's no way the committee is jumping us and Bama both up 4 spots. Last nights rankings should have been proof enough of just how little the committee thinks of us & our cute little win in lil ole Tuscaloosa. We should really stop playing those games unless the CFP committee is going to reward them accordingly.
  8. Last nights rankings made this abundantly clear to anyone, like myself, who held on to the hope that a Bama win + UT dominating OSU would cause us both to leapfrog UO. That's definitely not happening. Bama beating UGA would be almost catastrophic for the committee... I hope it happens for that reason alone.
  9. I feel like they’re saying “ooo offense score lots points” and acting like the Pac 12 became a good conference at some point. For some reason OSU was essentially a top 10 team for UW & UO to feast on. Their one decent win on the season was at Utah. The rest of the Pac 12 was absolutely overhyped from the jump. USC? trash. Colorado? flash in the pan that anyone with a brain could see but still ended up ranked in the top 20 for UO to smoke. Arizona? Ari-fucking-zona? give me a break. You have the UW AD who i bet has a preference on who makes it, the NCST AD as the chair who probably doesn’t want to give FSU any more reason to leave the ACC, and the KSU AD who was chosen by the Big 12 to replace CDC on the playoff committee and was “dumbfounded” when he found out the exit fees weren’t going to be as much as they were expecting. I have no idea why UT is behind OSU & UO based upon on the field results, but I don’t think margin of score is going to be the deciding factor.
  10. This has been the Michigan strategy for the last 2 years and it’s worked perfectly. Play a 2 season game and win the conference and you’re in. UO didn’t even do that this year and they’re going to be in with a win. The risk of playing heavyweights in the OOC isn’t worth it. Congrats to the committee on the devaluation of the first month of college football. If this is how it’s going to be we should just play 8-9 conference games and then start a 32 or 64 team playoff.
  11. But that's still a decision the committee will have to discuss. If UGA beats Bama there is no discussion - UGA is in and a spot is taken. Same with UW & Michigan. If undefeated teams start losing then the discussion of "who's the best 1-loss team" has to take place & the broader the discussion the better for us. The more 1-loss teams the better since we'll have the best victory, the best SOS, & a conference championship (assuming we win). All we really need is for FSU to lose, but Iowa & Bama pulling the upsets just in case FSU wins would be very nice.
  12. You're assuming the biases of 13 humans you've never net & then coming to a conclusion on how all of those trains of thoughts are going to work themselves out when discussed & voted on.
  13. IF Bama wins (ftr I do not think that they will) I think it's more likely that both Bama & UT jump FSU (even if they win) than it is that UT gets left at home. Especially if FSU wins ugly & UT looks good (14+). I've heard all the arguments in the world about why Bama would jump us & I don't think they will. The committee has had plenty of opportunities for put them in front of us while we were struggling with MM like they did Oregon & they chose not to. Obviously our H2H means something to the committee & that won't change. As impressive of a win as beating UGA would be, all that does is strengthen our resume & make our win in Tuscaloosa that much more impressive.
  14. I beginning to hope that Bama wins just so we can put this stupid argument to bed. One group of people will be right, the receipts will be read, & the losing side should have to start a thread where they all admit to being idiots.
  15. Since the WWE is partnering with the Big 12 I see no reason why Korie shouldn't have a little fun with this. Instead of blowing up a WR screen he should turn around and lead block for X all the way down the field. Once they get to the EZ he rips off his OSU jersey to reveal a UT jersey & celebrate the TD.
  16. Well, Travis Hunter isn't their backup. You missed the joke & sarcasm. Let's just move along.
  17. I would normally agree with this, but since it's UT we're talking about being left out, I disagree completely.
  18. Something about OSU just drives the prices up I guess...
  19. They've gone 12-0 without Travis Hunter so I don't see where him not being in Charlotte would make a difference.

You're a teacher? Dear lord, please tell me you "teach" gym.
  21. I don't understand the whole "it was early in the season so it's not as big of a deal" argument. You had all summer & fall to prep for us. You had an entirely healthy team, home field advantage, & and a home cupcake the week before to work out the kinks. How is that less impressive than had we walked into Tuscaloosa this week and beat the shit out of you after you've played an entire season & had the film to study your offense & injuries to hamper your team? I get that teams can get better as they find a rhythm throughout the season, but that mindset is idiotic. I'm fine with a loss late in the season weighing against you more, but a win early in the season shouldn't be discounted simply because it was early otherwise there's no use in scheduling them anymore. Just play 3 cupcakes & get into conference play & the networks can bitch & moan to the playoff committee about how they devalued the first quarter of the season with this bullshit if it works out that way. FTR I think UGA handles Bama so it won't be an issue, but it's bullshit to even have to discuss.
