Glad to see the collective Surly group think on Hampton. If Surly is down on him he'll likely end up an AA.

The Robinson back story will be interesting if we ever get a true accounting.
My observations:
- Elko was hired because he’s malleable to the aggy decision makers. Namely their edict to retain the defensive staff, especially Robinson.
- Some smoke that Elko felt uncomfortable with how much influence Robinson had in the locker room.
- Elko cuts off his nose to spite his face and tries to give Robinson a cute title and a raise to retain him. Just bizarre. Elko is going to call his defense. He just needs a puppet with a headset.
- Instead, Elko loses one of the best recruiters in the country and dynamites his Northeast pipeline.
- I don’t even know who the candidates are for DC. Elko doesn’t have a coaching tree outside of Santucci and Robinson. I bet Elko goes with an old timer like Kevin Steele that likes money and blinding following orders.
Elko is not planning to call the defense.

I don’t get this boards infatuation with Anderson and Stewart transferring. Neither have shown they are a true difference maker on the field. Let those bums stay there if that is what they want to do.

All these "I'm happy to be wrong post" should really be "damn guys I really don't know shit about fuck and going forward I'll keep my dumbass ignorant opinions to myself, which would serve this board better".

Biggest issue with our secondary is they panic when the ball is in the air and turn to play the WR instead of playing the ball. Most of the time if they would just turn they head it would result in a PBU or interception because most balls are under thrown these days. But maybe they are being taught to play the WR idk. Either way I hope they work on their ball skills prior to the playoff game.

I can tell some of you are about to become SEC/Texas fans like a lot of aggies are with their school and conference. Fuck them, their conference was mid across the board. We essentially won two conferences this year. They deserved to be left out. I hope FSU beats the dog shit out of Georgia.

So based on what the committee decided had Georgia won, Texas would still be in. But I honestly don’t think that is true. They would have went with the 4 undefeated conference champions. The final result happened because they couldn’t stand to leave the SEC out. Bunch of pussies

Eh, it was possible that FSU'S backups come in and the offense still looks competent by the end. That obviously didn't happen. But the real reason is that Alabama won and they couldn't find a way to get the SEC in without Texas also being in.
Looked liked a playoff worthy defense imo. Can't just disregard that side of the ball.

If the committee was going to go this route with FSU they should have excluded them from the top 4 the moment Travis got hurt. But to have them remain undefeated and win their conference and then decide to drop them out the top 4 makes no sense. Sets a terrible precedent IMO. What if Milroe, Penix, Ewers got hurt in practice leading up to the playoffs. Do either of those teams no longer belong?

Objectively, it would be
Michigan
Washington
TEXAS
Alabama
I don't think Bama should get in just because everyone wants to believe they are one of the 4 best teams now. FSU did what they were supposed to do to get in, can't look past that because you think Bama is better.
-
This seems simple enough for me if you look at this objectively.
1. Michigan 2. Washington 3. FSU 4. Texas

Not sure how we do it, but I hope we can keep all of our RBs.
-
After all that crying about how we have the worse secondary ever the defense has only given up 14 points in non garbage time, and 7 of that is really owed to the offense.

Chris Tyree would be a good backfill for Keilan and (less so) Whittington, at least from a versatility perspective. He's got 232 carries and 82 receptions + lots of returner experience. Would be a fun luxury take.
Kind of want to see Wisner in that role.

Is there a condense version of this game uploaded anywhere?

He was “taken” to the locker room for his “injury.” It seems like made up stuff to protect Maalik. But I think Maalik wasn’t too happy Arch was going in.
This is some next level fan fiction.

I’m pretty sure that was Allen Jr.

The offense refuses to put this game away.

I think some of you underrate what goes on with the draft, and QBs in particular, between January and April.
This is my take. After the combine/pro days the only two QBs I think would be ahead of Ewers is probably Caleb and Drake. I know this is a deep QB draft but I can’t see him making it out of the first round.

If it does end up being Fisch, I wonder if that puts that McMillan kid in play.

There should really just be a random discussion mega thread in 9.95

Come on, you can't just call Bean a "backup QB." Dude is a very good football player who played a lot of games for Kansas last year.
Pretty sure Bean isn’t who he was referring to.

Hell of a shot.

Why are we complaining about the safeties after a game where they weren’t really the issue and one of them made a huge play that essentially put the game out of reach for ISU.
They weren’t going to beat us throwing slants all day either.

He is already ahead of Manning so I don't think he is running away from competing for the job against Arch. This is likely more about Ewers coming back which I hope remains true if we are going to lose Murphy.
