  1. Not sure I understand lowering the ceiling for this team because of the Baxter injury. I know the kid was a 5 star but he was often dinged up last year and I thought he was the 3rd best back out of the bunch. I’d be much more concerned if it was Blue that went down. I think Wisner/Gibson will be more that adequate and if not Sark can scheme around it. I don’t think any production Baxter could have given us is irreplaceable.

What does it mean to be a in better spot than most people think? Fasusi is obviously picking OU and Jonah Williams wasn’t going to aggy the second Schloss left.

They are in 3rd place instead of 4th? It all culminates in both players not choosing A&M but he has to feed his base something. And they are collectively too stupid to call him out on that BS rhetoric.

Not sure y’all fully understood what you were watching with those kind of scores.

Wait wait.. you mean there was a 5 star DB who did not sign with Texas and was not pursued as much as his rank suggests who somehow had underlying character issues that reared their ugly heads within a year?

    Weird.

What’s weird is your convenient memory of this recruitment. We definitely recruited this kid according to his rank and the staff would have accepted his commitment. At the time there was no reported character issues and he was thought to be a culture fit.

From looking at their commits, I can't think of any of them that we highly pursued with the exception of Brandon Brown. I can agree though that we're not where we thought we'd be but I think that's more of us not landing the guys we thought we were gonna get a few months ago(Moore, Brew, Fasusi, Pettijohn etc.). Still early but if we land Brooks, Terry, Madden, Ffrench and Lockett up with Kaliq we should finish with a top 5 class. Hopefully we can flip Lamont Rogers.

I guess if you find solace in that they aren’t kicking our ass head to head, but they are hitting on their targets. Thus far they have a much better class than we do. They lost a 5 star WR and a 4 star DB and then replaced them with another 5 star WR and 5 star DB. All this wish casting of them not having the money is just that until there are actual signs of such.

Until settlement monies are paid from pension funds nothing will ever change. Hit cops where it hurts if you want systemic change to occur. Otherwise don’t be shocked when a zero accountability model doesn’t hold cops accountable.

Those pussies would just stop doing their jobs in protest, which would likely still benefit us all.

People are worried about the DT room, because it is not a 1 year problem..

2021- Bryon Murphy (4 star GIles)..

2022- Ross (4 star),  Bledsoe (4 star), Bryant (4 star). Swanson (3 star)

    2023- Mitchell (3star)

    2024- January (3 star), Hills (3 star)

That is the recruiting talent left on campus after this season. This is position that generally takes some time to develop. 2022 was a class to supplement to 2021. 2024 was supposed to supplement 2023. 2025 the goal was 4 DTs to supplement the 23/24 classes. Its fair to say DT recruiting has not been up to the standard of general team recruiting under Sark. There is a lot of pressure on Baker to develop at a high level, because Texas cant afford busts. . Texas took 3 DTs this year in the portal and it appears Texas is headed in down that path in 2025. Texas needs Bledsoe to make a major jump this year and get himself into the rotation (He maybe the biggest athletic freak on the team). I think Texas should be fine this year at DT, but relying on the portal to build a championship DL is tough.

Good thing we aren’t totally dependent on just the recruiting talent on campus. And with you acknowledging the position itself takes time to develop then why do you have angst getting developed talent for that position through the portal. Recruiting is a crapshoot and even if we recruited better numbers at the position in previous years there is no guarantee they’d pan out. And y’all love to exaggerate an issue to make a point. We aren’t using the portal to build our entire DL.

  8. I swear some of you act like this team only exist of outgoing seniors and future recruits. Recruits of previous years are easily forgotten. Yes DT recruiting is a pain point. But after the last two recruiting classes I’m not sure why any other position is a major issue of concern. I don’t see any team stacking 5 stars on top of 5 stars anymore and if they do it’s likely a 1-2 year rental. As far as I’m concern there is always the portal and the next recruiting class to supplement misses in this one.

C'mon man, we don't have to crucify guys every time they lose to superior teams. Luka has been awesome. He drug flat earth and a bunch of guys none of us had ever heard of through a loaded West. He's no worse than the third best player on the planet. Trae Young isn't in his stratosphere.

That said, the defensive criticism is valid. He'll never be great on the end, but he can't be a turnstile. As the team's leader, you have to show your teammates real, consistent effort. Dirk learned this. Steph learned this. Shit, even LeBron had to learn. "He's too tired from doing everything else" isn't as excuse when want to compete for championships.

I don't know if you can be that bad on one end of the floor and still be a top 5 player in the league.

Also highlights how fucking stupid the Wolves were for not relentlessly hunting his fat ass. What the fuck were they thinking? Can't believe the Nuggets gacked that 20 point lead.

Wolves didn't have anyone to attack him with consistently. Ant was on tired legs and Kat was doing his disappearing act.

  10. It was dumb for Luka to even put himself in that position since he already had 5 fouls. Move your feet and play defense instead of trying to draw a charge. Oh yeah he can't. Dude is putrid on defense, I'm not sure I've seen a superstar be that bad before. Boston was blowing by him at will.

  11. Playing the dynasty mode and recruiting your own guys is where I normally found the most fun in this game, so I don’t really get why some of you take a guy deciding to not opt in so personal. Most of those guys are gone by year 3-4 in that mode anyway.
