I think that thought absolutely horrifies us.
I'd fear for some of you guys safety if that turned out to be the case. It's obvious some here have already attached themselves to the Manning wagon. And this is despite never seeing him take a snap in a college football game. It's absurd really, I believe Sark is making the best decision here and everyone needs to be patient regarding both MM and Arch.

Arch has had since Spring to win the QB2 job. He obviously hasn't to this date but some of you think it's a good idea to just throw him out there to see what he has. Reminds me of the bama fanbase clamoring for one of their other QBs earlier this season, Rees making the call and going with Buchner/Simpson only for those guys to put on display why they didn't win the job to begin with. Sometimes the QB on the bench is there for a reason. Obviously Sark thinks MM gives us the best chance to win in the absence of Ewers and so far that has held true. Those of you acting like it's unfathomable that Manning is worse need to pump the brakes. Can't imagine the shit show it would be if Manning came in and stunk up the joint.

It’s hard for me to understand how some of you are Arch fanboys already despite not seeing him take a meaningful college snap in his career. Last time we saw him he was obviously behind the other QBs in regards to development.
MM has plenty to work on, mainly knowing when to just eat the football. But I guess some of you won’t believe Arch is not ready yet until he implodes on the field. Sark isn’t going to let that happen and the Mannings would prefer that not happen. If Arch was that guy already he would be playing, not sure why it's so hard for some of you to understand there is a reason he hasn't seen the field yet.
Also some of you clearly don't remember the freshman seasons of both Ehlinger and Ewers.

even if he handnt fallen down, that ball was thrown 15 yards behind him. not sure what the heck that was.
No it wasn’t. He fell down before he could make his break outside.

If anybody needs more carries out the backfield it’s Jaydon Blue. I wouldn’t be upset at Keilan getting more touches too in space, his speed/quickness is a game breaker.

Maalik appears to have over corrected in regards to the velocity in which he throws the ball. Kid went from throwing scud missiles to soft balls. Probably didn’t help that he threw off his back foot a lot. I hope Sark/ Milwee or able to clean some of that up this week.

Our secondary was a lot better when they didn't have to cover for very long due to the DL getting pressure. Kind of need to get back to that.

Almost everyone on the 2 and 3 deep on defense has gotten significant playing time this season.
Which is part of the reason we don’t really put teams away.

Forgot he could throw with some touch lol, don’t know if it’s adrenaline or what when he comes into the games but he comes in and throws scud missiles.

Larry Turner Gooden wasn't celebrated. Most are surprised he wasn't processed out of the class.
Well considering he committed in January, there wasn’t really a whole lot of time left to process him out.
And I agree that Barron/Gilbeau should have been cross trained at safety.

I like the chance of Brooks making something happen on a check down more than I like Ewers hitting worthy and it being caught. This is a real outdated thought. Also guess you missed the absolute dime Ewers through to Worthy who *gasp* caught the ball for a TD in the UH game.

There is literally no way to know that without seeing the all 22 and breaking down each drop back. Quinn was fucking dealing and took shots when they were there and checked it down when they weren’t. Or that’s what it looked like based on what we saw.
Btw, Murphy had an easier throw to Brooks in the flat that would have almost certainly gotten the first down, which was the main objective on that play. I don’t care how fast you read if you can’t move the sticks.Pretty sure someone was crashing down on Brooks which is why MM decided to go to AD. I thought it was the right read, just threw it behind him.
-
Based on what I’ve seen I wouldn’t want to have to catch a ball thrown by MM. I agree that the kid seems to have an aura about him, but I have no idea how that translates on the field. Seems he can make reads, but every throw is a laser.

I mean the book is out on how to be successful against the Texas D. The only way to mitigate that is for the front 4 to get pressure and they have all but disappeared. Really thought we had one with Burke but I guess not. Need Simmons to come in and be that guy. I agree that Barron and Gilbeau should have been cross trained at S. Everyone not name Derek Williams is a liability out there.
-
To be fair he finally adjusted and the D ultimately only gave up 10 points in the second half with the TD coming on a short field.

I disassociated myself from the Dallas Cowboys a few years ago when it became clear that Jerry Jones couldn’t manage a franchise effectively to win.
This game imo is a pivotal moment for the program. I think it’s showing that Sark isn’t the guy, and we may be headed for a dark dark period.
This is dumb. Even if we lost today this team would be 6-2 with a win on the road against a top 10 team. Sark may not ultimately be the guy that gets us over the top but he isn’t leading us into any kind of dark period. Get a fucking grip.

Yeah their run defense isn’t all that great either. Miami also had some success before they realized they didn’t have to bother trying to run the ball at all.
-
By keeping the ‘22 class do they mean the DL because I’m not sure where else you can say the recruits from that class is a strength on that team. Secondary sucks, don’t think any LBs are left, Evans is just a name at WR. TE??? Entire OL sucks regardless of class, and they can’t keep QB1 healthy. RBs are pedestrian at best.

Brooks is a great college running back who isn’t elite in any single category. He’s not gonna get drafted before day 3. He may decide he wants a shot at making a roster and leaves early. It I would bet he comes back next year.
AD is showing up on more 1st round mock drafts than X now. Both will be drafted in the first two rounds and maybe even both in the 1st. They’re gone after this year.
The thing is he isn't going to become anymore elite at anything if he stays. If he continues his big year this could be his best shot. He should take it.

Nobody was ever coming because of Arch Manning, not sure why some of you haven't realized that yet. In regards to WR recruiting no none of our guys are really putting up gaudy numbers or the primary focus of the offense. So you can go to Texas and be just one of the guys are come to Mizzou and be the guy like Burden or Nabors at LSU.

Need Watts back asap. Not sure which 9.95(likely IT) it was that was hyping Holmes up as threatening to take one of the CB1 spots during fall camp, but dude ain't it. He is alright in coverage but not good at tackling.

This is an embarrassing thread for this site and that is saying a lot considering the trash that is normally posted on here. Thread should be deleted.

Maalik Murphy unfucked Duke, works his next miracle at Oregon State

We are 2-0 with MM as our starting QB, so the floor and safety net has been just fine. However some of you placed unreasonable expectations on MM and now are calling for his head that he hasn't lived up to them. There was always going to be growing pains. He is another kid that hasn't really had any live reps because for the last 2 years this team just refuses to blow anyone out. Now a lot of you are doubling down and transferring those unrealistic expectations on Arch and would be crushed if he came in and couldn't live up to them either.
