Really enjoying the cognitive dissonance in aggy perpetually laughing at the sips for perceived culture rot and entitlement while claiming they're entitled to a $70+M coaching change to immediately fix their culture rot

I remember hearing for years how the problem with Texas was that the meddling boosters had too much power/influence within/over the athletic department.

  2. If you’re Robinson, you were a greasy liucci permed cunt hair away from potentially being the next head coach. And now you’re not even gonna call the defense with Elko in charge? Why the fuck would you stick around for that when you probably will have multiple DC offers incoming from a desirable power 5 program or even a HC job at a lower tier program?

  3. I’m sure they will quickly fix that OL in one offseason. Tons of high level experienced OL in the portal and a great OL coach and OC hire is 100% certain.

That said, their schedule is hammered dogshit next year; they should win at least 8. I don’t know if that’s enough to move the needle for most, maybe it is. I assume the schedule the following year will not be as easy and a meltdown follows.

  4. Yea that’s a real problem. You’re either behind Robinson and you let him fire and hire new staff, or you need to bring in someone new and let them make their own staff. This trying to find a new figurehead while keeping everything else in place doesn’t work for a lot of reasons.

If you try to just stick with Robinson and the rest of the current staff for a year or two while you make a better long term hire you may keep a few kids this year, but your next two recruiting classes are setup for failure when you do make the next HC hire making it that much harder for him to succeed. That may be the best scenario for them at this point if they can’t pull off the gamble on an Elko or Traylor.

  5. The stoops and day stuff just sounds like agent positioning and misinformation even if both of these guys have had interviews or discussions with A&M.

Good money should still be on guys like Elko or other mid program HC’s that want one last payday.

  6. IMO Stewart is an easier sell than guys like Hall and Billingsley. By all accounts those guys screwed around at Bama, and Saban actually tries to install discipline and runs a tight ship. I’m not sure aggy even tried to impose any sort of structure or discipline with Jimbo unless you were trying to wear arm sleeves.

And if the “culture” at Texas is as strong as many here think, taking a flyer on Stewart isn’t that much of a risk because the locker room will police itself.

I think the bigger question is what sort of NIL demands he has and what does the market look like for him.
