OU Recruiting 2026: Burnt Vegetables
But do we have anyone on staff who spent 7 years working for the Senior Bowl? Advantage gooner.

OU Recruiting 2026: Burnt Vegetables
They're not doing anything groundbreaking wrt recruiting. Literally every program that can't recruit at a high level tries to make up for it with evaluations. It's been that way forever. The only difference is the guy they put in charge has the title of "general manager" rather than "head coach."

So OU's goal is to be the new K-State. Cool, I guess. Not saying stars are everything and the ranking services are never wrong, but there's a very high correlation between stacking top 5 classes and winning national championships. I like our approach.

OU Recruiting 2026: Burnt Vegetables
It's funny that people act like they're doing something unique in recruiting a bunch of lowly rated "developmental" prospects. Isn't that what literally every program that can't recruit at a high level tries to do?

At the very least we should force OU to fire a few more employees. Safety too. Bobby said they could add a lower cost inline TE, but not a necessity. OT is the most glaring need. Not sure where they go if they can't flip Lee, but they need another body.

Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us
Well we get to play them and they have to play us, so maybe they have a point.

Tell Me About Texas a&m
When aggy signed the highest rated recruiting class in CFB history, the entire country just scoffed because everyone knew they'd squander it. But big bad Texas, currently sitting at #6 in the rankings, has destroyed the conference. Why the double standard? Because Texas is actually a serious program.

I love it, but Sark better fucking beat him this year..

Second team all district, second round of the NFL draft... what difference does it make?

I'm referring to the post about our edge room being set. I don't think the staff is complacent.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Complacency is what brought down MBTF. That said, if Tech wants to give him rediculous money, have fun in Lubbock I guess.

So what about 3 years from now?

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Didn't Tech already have one of the most expensive rosters with all the transfers they bought? So how are they able to (openly) throw all this $ around? It's not like these deals are happening under the table.

I like Gerry, but he also said Cam Williams would be a 1st rounder. Turntine definitely has the athleticism, but there's nothing simple about adding 30lbs while still maintaining his explosiveness. I'm glad we got him though. We'll see how he develops.

Damn wonder who it was. If it was Krempin meh. If it was Lee then fuck that motherfucker.

Our roster is set for the next 2 years, assuming we keep everyone we want. In the meantime, the house settlement will either be challenged/overturned, or loopholes will be discovered. If it's the latter, I assume we'll partake.. otherwise, just shut it down and focus on olympic sports.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Bobby recently said if they were to re-rank our last class based on early returns, Brooks would be #1. I assume he'll start if Goosby leaves. I'm not overly concerned if we miss on an expensive project like Ojo. Sucks we didn't get Lee though.

Can we win at least one title before we start worrying about the health of the sport?

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
"Max exodus" was used in reference to transfers, not early draft entrees. The point is that it's possible to have both an elite roster and elite recruiting assuming you have the funds and the willingness to use them.
-
Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
The implication was that they haven't had mass exoduses due to lack of NIL funding, which is true. Players leaving early for the NFL has very little to do with NIL, or lack thereof. The sky isn't falling, but it looks like Sark and TPTB will have to reevaluate some things and adjust accordingly. They've done just that every cycle, and I expect them to do it again.

So how did we get Terry? I'm genuinely curious. Do they make exceptions if they think someone is a can't miss prospect?

Not really relevant to '26 recruiting. He'll be a junior when they get to campus.
