So, I’m guessing I should go to the Sportscaster Review Thread to find transfer news…

Calm down, there’s no real news at the moment.  Complaining about and laughing at Tim Brando is infinitely better than the tired masochistic detours this board takes from time to time.  Unless you want to relive “borderline erotic” and “Roland Jones” while someone reposts a tweet that Jaggy McJaggerson from Kent State has entered the transfer portal.

  2. I know there is still plenty of time left in the portal window, but does anyone else think they are completely doomed at OL?  Not only are there a limited number of quality transfer portal entries at the position, but you have several highly motivated competitors with needs there as well (particularly OU) and a better development story to sell.

Even with all of the defections, that DL is loaded though.

He's a dick in real life too.

Yeah, it is easy to lose sight of this fact given the competition.  Sadly, you do stand out positively in this industry when you don’t steal money from charity (OB) or actively undermine the program (FCB).

I just watched Napoleon, so with some historical context I can rank the 2022 aggy recruiting class with some relatively equal events:

    1. Invasion of Russia

    2. 2022 aggy recruiting class

    3. Reign of Terror

    4. Battle of Waterloo

Would you rank Colin Klein’s 4th down decision in the Texas game this year above or below the decision to invade Russia in the winter?

  5. Curious to see what people think about Peter Luger’s.  Just went for the first time and I was shocked by how disappointing it all was.  Frankly I thought it was worse than most of the Chicago/Texas steakhouses.

However they cooked the steak left a pretty large gray band, and although the quality of the meat was fine it didn’t stand out or blow me away.  Combine that with cold rolls and mediocre sides and the total came out to ~$200 a person without factoring in the bottles of wine …I’m sure most people on this board  could do better with a trip to central market.

Is this normal or am I missing something?

  6. Maybe it was the alcohol, but I thought the DJ had great comedic timing.  Songs that match the player names and appropriate for penalties.

Sure you can debate the decision to have a DJ and the directive to blare loud music to keep the casuals engaged, but the execution has been on point.

  7. I completely underestimated the sheer arrogance of these Aggie leaders and how deeply tinted those maroon-colored glasses are.  Surely they couldn’t fire their head coach mid season without a plan and multiple contingencies in place?

But it looks like they and whatever milquetoast media mouthpieces they fawn over legitimately believed that the head coaches of Oregon, Clemson, and Ohio State would see the majesty, wonder and potential of Aggieland and come running.

And the best part of this Stoops debacle is that now they can’t hide their ineptitude from the world.  They can’t pick themselves up from the pavement after falling flat on their face to say “oh yeah we meant to do that from the start and we’re not looking back.”  I woke up to texts from non-UT friends outside of Texas laughing their ass off.  What a time to be alive

Navin Johnson showing up as either a new poster, or more likely his latest handle, to tell us the real business with his horribad takes on what should be nothing but a fucking endless thread of joy is the worst thing that could happen on this Sunday morning. Fuck.

Just let it go, it’s not worth it.  This is the equivalent of grandma repeatedly trying to bring up political conspiracy theories at an otherwise excellent thanksgiving evening.  If you ignore him long enough he’ll tire himself out, wander off, or drink enough Chardonnay to pass out.

When I mentioned Stoops yesterday, I was about three days into chasing down said scoop. All of the 'breaking' Ryan Day or Dabo Swinney stuff was simply smoke and mirrors in the agent and coaching world, as the guys drawing the most serious interest down the stretch were Stoops and Duke's Mike Elko, along with Utah's Kyle Whittingham entering the mix late. Arizona's Jedd Fisch was close to receiving an in-person interview, as well, but the Aggies made their choice and didn't look back when going with the man who has led Big Blue Nation for the past eleven seasons.

You literally couldn’t script this up any better

Brooks wasn't ideal, he's just a better back right now. Baxter needs better vision and better feet. He's a little taller and thicker in the lower half than Brooks. If Baxter works on those two things, as well as setting up blocks and defenders, he's gonna blow up. He's got great hands, speed, and he's good at blitz pickup for his level of experience.

I understand the point you are trying to make, but man is it still silly to type that out.  Brooks was front runner for the Doak and there isn’t anyone “ideal” in college football who would have had better production for us.

That said, Baxter has a lot of tools and Blue’s speed has the potential to ruin Iowa State if they bust a run fit.  We’ll be fine.

We need more formations with Worthy and Cook like this one. It's going to stress defenses because of the speed both those guys have.

Watch Baylor double Worthy which meant Cook could just cook his guy with athleticism.

This also looks like the triple high safety look we’ve struggled with for the past two years, right?

We’ll play better safeties than Baylor has, but it will  be huge if we can consistently hit shots like these against this type of scheme.

  12. Controversial opinión, but I’ll miss away games at TCU in terms of the experience.  Fans are very relaxed and friendly, the area around the stadium is beautiful, and Fort Worth is a fun town to visit for the weekend with an underrated late-night scene.  Most importantly, you’re never worried about opposing fans trying to reenact Deliverance on your walk back from the bars.

But I’m sure Oxford Mississippi exceeds that experience in every way.
