Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - This Is Fine
He was three-star, FWIW. Makes you look at developing talent instead of worrying about this top-5 WR. If Jackson could actually develop that would be huge. But instead the portal guys make him look better than he actually is. He hasn't developed anybody. He had Worthy for a year, but he didn't develop him, Worthy worked his ass off since he stepped on campus. Jackson has been here since 2023, and he can't point to a single HS recruit and tell anyone he's developing them. Wingo can't block or catch half the time, but his route running has gotten better, yet still can't get separation consistently. Same with Moore. He's a good blocker and route runner, but he can't get separation, and he has some wtf drops. Livingstone is an enigma. Plus he's a RS-FR. Aaron Butler can't catch, for whatever reason. He did in HS. Again, every WR that's been drafted other than Worthy and J-Whitt has heen a portal. Mitchell, Bond, Golden, Bolden.

2027 WR Easton Royal
I was pro-Kiffin, but I'm not sure if he can handle a place like LSU. Ole Miss students were relaxed and patient about the playoffs, whereas if he doesn't make the CFP in three years, things could get tough for him. He doesn't like to recruit, and while a lot of kids will take the money and just go there, there are still a ton who don't prioritize money as much, which could hurt his recruiting in HS. As for the portal, yeah, he'll clean up, but he won't directly affect us other than some HS players. We still get who we want in the portal and we are recruiting QBs that aren't just five-stars, their pedigree is just different, and other recruits want to play with those guys. Nothing against Jared Curtis, but Dia Bell is the superior QB and he only got knocked due to injury. He didn't just magically drop because the recruiting guys looked at Curtis after almost a year and a half and thought to themselves "you know, we've been wrong all this time. Dia Bell has the athletic genes, but Curtis has....doesn't matter. Put him above Bell since Bell is injured." How recruiting rankings work are very fucking stupid.

Baugh, Arky RB Washington if he doesn't go pro, Harlem Berry and Caden Durham, Lacy out of Ole Miss. There's plenty of options to be had, including B1G RB's that will enter. My personal wants are Kewan Lacy (Ole Miss), Mike Washington, Jr (Arky), Jadan Baugh (UF), Harlem Berry (LSU), Makhi Hughes (Ore), Caden Durham (LSU), Darius Taylor (Min), in that order.

Seriously. It's like when they told parents to check their kids Halloween candy for drugs. Like people are just giving away free drugs to kids lol.

I think this has grown into myth territory since Golden needed help understanding it, so now everyone does, even though evidence shows that's not the case. Bond did just fne. Endries did just fine. Townsend knew where to be just fine on his TD catch. Baxter picked it up and started as a frosh, Wingo, even if he didn't get it fully still did enough to play meaningful time as a frosh. Mosley seemed to pick it uo, too. As a matter of fact, all of our transfers have, including Silas Bolden.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2027: I remember watching his dad play
Man that Royal kid is really good. I was watching some of his tape last night on some recruiting channel that popped up on YouTube, and that kid is on a different level.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
I'm with you. I also believe he overachieved, and his tape still said 'four-star,' but developmental (like he should have been ranked in the 350's). He did better than I thought. I don't just look at total sacks and all of that, I watch the games and see he's been a disruptor the last 2 seasons, showed real flash his sophomore season, and I can't remember his freshman season, tbh.

If your name isn't Jeremiah Smith, you aren't worth more than $1m, IDGAF. I get we're in a new era, but $4m for a WR that hasn't exactly lit it up is beyond dumb. He has the tools, but no fucking way should anyone pay that for a 1 year rental WR when you can get another WR who will/can put up the same amount of yards and TD's. I don't even believe Ryan Williams is worth more than $1m, especially considering, again he's a 1 year rental, and WR is the easiest position to recruit in the portal. He's a great talent and has proven himself, but if he wants more money, get an NIL package deal. These kids are asking for NFL money like they're former all-pro's on a new team looking to win a SB. Julio Jones earned $1.6m in his last year before retirement. Is Jimmy Sexton their agent?

- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Honestly, my only disappointment is we didn't get to see him and Vasek together. Burke has been a really, really good player for us. Vasek is dead, I guess. I would take Burke every single recruiting class if I could, and yeah, it sucks he doesn't have a 5th year.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
I believe Endries was a walk-on like Taaffe who earned a scholarship. So 2/4 were former walk-on's, while our OG earned all American status, too. I'll take those kind of crackers all day long. Burke being a three-star is fucking comical. Go look at his HS tape and at no point does he look the part of "three-star." If anything, he looked like a four-star with potential, which he lived up to.- Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Hey, at least he's 40; a grown man! He's already on the right track.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Correct. He doesn't seem to do the little things to be great, like using the JUGS machine after practice or on off-days. He's a weak blocker, but he has improved his route running. But yeah, like you said—he doesn't seem to "get it." He's an athlete playing the position, much like Terrell Pryor. He can be great, but he doesn't put in the extra work. I'm not sure how he believes he will be in the NFL long-term if you don't do the work 365 days a year. It's frustrating because I can see he has the tools and he's gifted, but he doesn't have the same mindset of Jeremiah Smith/Ryan Williams/Bryant Wesco, Jr, etc.- 2028 Texas recruiting notes: hope my cholesterol levels won’t get me
*cousin, I believe.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
I mean, he did get better numbers-wise. He added 300 more yards and 5 more TD's to get to 50/770/7 15.4 ypc for the season so far, and last year he went 29/472/2 16.3 ypc. His ypc went down a yard, but otherwise he's on the right trajectory. Next season (hopefully) he can learn to catch a pass consistently and win 50/50 balls, or else Sark will have to let Lockett give it a try. I doubt that happens since he lacks a spine, but here we are. Bobby loves hyperbole and keeps yammering that he's like Roy Williams athletically, which is fucking retarded. He's a great athlete, but he's not even in the same stratosphere as Roy.- Jamarion Carlton 2026 DL
So he's basically Alfred Collins. I'm good with that.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2027: I remember watching his dad play
Doesn't even have a rating, but he's listed at 6-7 245 for a DL. I imagine he's a project. https://247sports.com/player/finn-walker-46159175/- 2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread
This would be amazing af. Maybe lands us Durham, too. I would take Berry and Durham over anyone we currently have, except for Wisner. Hire the Mizzou OL coach and Frank Wilson and we're rolling. But it won't happen because Sark is too much of a pussy to fire anyone. He doesn't lack self-awareness, he lacks a spine.- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
They're just pathological liars that have to be "THE BEST!!!!" and anything remotely UT is "trashy, they spit on kids and punch pregnant women" type shit, rather than just saying they hate the stadium because it's University of Texas. Nope, they have to lie, embellish everything to the extreme, and lift their self-worth by telling the world how awful we are.- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
God that is fucking embarrassing. Second-hand embarrassment is the worst. Oof.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2027: I remember watching his dad play
We'll still land 3-4 five-star guys. I would like to see us go after Callis-Williams, but I think aggies lead for him, and Chad Scott seems unimpressive so far.- Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - This Is Fine
Akina needs to be replaced. This isn't 2008 anymore, and he made Taaffe take a step back, Jelani was even more inconsistent, and our secondary was pure shit. If Akina is the best Sark can do, then I don't know what to say. I don't know shit about fuck regarding Orphey, but the DB's were also inconsistent, but he's a younger guy, much like Baker was last year when we all went "who?" I would cut Filsaime some slack. It was his first real game experience, and he didn't get any favor from Akina's old ass. JJ-R, I have no idea if he's good or not, and Derek Williams also looked lost...and slow, but that is because of his ACL, I believe.- Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - This Is Fine
This is very true. Unless you're an almost sure star level, like Kyle Hamilton, Derwin James, or Xavier Mckinnney, your best hope is rd 2-4. Edit: I should add Caleb Downs. Almost surely a star at the next level.- Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
Well we had those in SJSU, SHSU, and UTEP, and the only one we looked competent in was SHSU, and they're 1-7 and last in C-USA. Had Flood/Sark actually fucking paid attention, we wouldn't have had Stroh out there being aloof and a weak ass who got punished by even lower-level players, because he's a lower-level player himself.- Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
I understand both sides of the argument, and whether or not this team is "good enough" to win is irrelevant. What's relevant is we will have no idea if we don't get the chance. I want that chance. Will we get it? Highly unlikely. But get to 10 wins and get more practices in for every player coming back next season. But make no mistake, this team, much like in college basketball, could go on a run if we made the playoffs. Disregard the OT with UK and MSU, those are also irrelevant because we beat them. The "how" doesn't matter, at all. Look at the Final Four in basketball. Teams that play in wtf conferences make runs all the time and have beaten blue bloods. It's not like we don't have the talent to do the same in football. We're closer in talent to Georgia, Ohio State, and Bama than we are to aggy, if we go by HS recruiting, and even portal adds. The only wtf portal add I can remember is Velton Gardner from SMU, and he lost an eye in like game 2 or 3 last season and we still make the semis without a RB room. All we had was Wisner. So if we can make the semis with just one RB, whose to say we can't this year? But, at the end of the day the loss column is what matters. They aren't going to throw out the Ohio State game just because we're the only team to play them close and out gain them in yards. A loss is a loss, and we followed that up by getting tagged by UF, and then needed a body bag after Georgia. If you're a supposed "QB guru, offensive mastermind" and you have lost to Mike Bobo three times in a row, then we have a coaching problem. At no point should Sark look fucking lost after landing top 4 recruiting classes the last 4 years, and the #1 class last year. Zero. Zilch. Ineptitude is what is keeping us out. That's on Sark. - Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
