  1. At this point, Foster should just pick the best track school--which is Texas--and concentrate on throwing. When the COVID-19 shit is over, he can come back to football. (The most recent shot/discus/hammer Olympian from Oregon was in 1992.)
  2. Plus, you don't normally think of defensive players putting up insane numbers.
  3. Or a girlfriend going to Memphis.
  4. If you play it without crowds and have to move it, play it somewhere it will never be played under normal circumstances like a good high school stadium.
  5. Texas State Fair has been cancelled. https://bigtex.com/
  6. If (when) the season is cancelled, recruiting will be wild as offers will have to be made to sophomores and juniors without a sophomore or junior season. At some point, the negative recruiting will also have to get around to a university's viability as 2-3 semesters of no sports and no or very few students on campus will sink the finances of some schools.
  7. So looch had an article ready to go 7 minutes after the NCAA announced the penalties?
  8. Oh, aggy.
  9. University of Arizona just announced it will not reopen to students. The comments to this tweet are worth a glance.
  10. That’s gotta just kill aggy.
  11. Morehouse just pulled the plug on football and all fall sports.
  12. I bet he kicks ass at Dance Dance Revolution.
  13. Still way too many unknowns about the long-term effects of this virus. According to this article, asymptomatic patients still had lung scarring and there is potential for infertility, among many other things. I don’t see how we can expect football this year unless we are all willing to shut down, mask up, and bend the curve to where testing, tracing, and isolation is overwhelmingly effective. So, yeah, I’m not optimistic. https://www.vox.com/2020/5/8/21251899/coronavirus-long-term-effects-symptoms
  14. The comments on that tweet are hilarious, especially the people who don't know anything about aggy. And don't forget about jawja when talking sec.
  15. The line of condemnation should at a minimum be drawn at 1968, but I'm not opposed to pushing it back another decade or more, like to 1954. The worst are the guys who only drop an N bomb in hushed tones to other whites assuming that because someone is white they are OK with it, even if they are a kid--insidious bitches trying to impress upon kids that all white adults talk that way. Fuck those guys. I knew too many of them growing up in the late 60's/early 70's and they rarely change. And fuck the Utah guy too.
  16. So what’s the intel? Or is it just clickbait?
  17. Good character guys often come with above average intelligence, as befitting the University of Texas. It's no surprise current and former Longhorn players are prominently engaged in the national conversation. I'm good with Eagles. Let's make some needed changes and do our best to make them both positive and lasting.
  18. I don’t like this spur designation. They should call it rocket.
  19. You can tell just from looking at 66 and 67 that it was an aggy game.
  20. Dream vs Shaq is an easy call. If the game is tied in the last few seconds and you coach Shaq's team, you're going to send the double team when Hakeem gets the ball. If you're coaching the other team, you don't have to send the double team to help Dream--you can hope for a steal, block, altered shot, or something from Dream, who is clutch. And then there are free throws and the basketball elegance of Dream over the brute force of Shaq. To me, Duncan is the toughest Top 10 call. Lots of accolades and accomplishments, and he did make clutch shots--but he missed some clutch free throws. Also, he often took the easier big man defensive assignment, particularly in the playoffs. You almost never saw him guard the best post player all game. Nit-picky, yeah, but we are talking Top 10. And how do you factor the cultural significance of Dr. J? Anyway, here are my Top 10: Jordan Magic LBJ Bird Olajuwon Kareem Russell Wilt Shaq Duncan Dr. J, Oscar, and Kobe are next. I don't think Steph is Top 10 material and KD will have to do a few more things before he works his way up to consideration. Speaking of Hakeem, the first 3:40 of this video are something else.
  21. Oops. Missed the Montana-North Dakota mutual aid agreement, which is not on the same level as the major compacts. So yeah, Montana is kind of sitting by themselves too.
  22. I would think the governor, the rest of state leadership, and public health officials will also have some say. It'll be interesting to see how these new alliances influence college football and other sports. California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Colorado are all in the Western States Pact which calls for a shared vision and consistency on fighting COVID-19 and appropriately opening up the economy. Hawaii is coordinating with the group and Idaho may be invited soon. New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware formed a Regional Advisory Council with similar goals. Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine are coordinating with Massachusetts and are expected to eventually become part of the Regional Advisory Council. Maryland, D.C., Virginia, and North Carolina have set up a group. South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee are all working together. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky make up the Midwest Partnership. North and South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, and Arkansas have a compact as the Missouri River States. Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and the Navajo Nation are coordinating while Utah and New Mexico also have a compact with Colorado, Wyoming, and Kansas. Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, West Virginia, Idaho, and Alaska are the only states who don't currently belong to some formal state government level COVID-19 group. However, the 13 states of the Confederacy (including Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana) along with West Virginia, Delaware, and Maryland have formed the Higher Education Recovery Task Force which will focus on Higher Ed challenges. Given the states and schools involved, no doubt one of those challenges is football.
