There's no way... right?
Yes, by all means let’s get that 74 year old in 100 cross country flights to recruit this year. Sounds legit

Evidently Pate is just balls deep with aggy at this point.

My wife went to memorial. The thought of one of you assholes getting to her before I did may be more than I can bear.

D Ontra Robinson and Alex January might not make it to campus. Need to hire a dline coach ASAP
My guess is we lose one of them regardless. I am already mentally prepared.

Because it links the actual announcement with the actual text from the press release without having to leave the board at all or open a new tab or app on mobile. You can put the tweet in still I just want people to stop putting ONLY the tweet. Especially when twitter borks or tweets can be deleted.
It’s not really worth having a new thread that will only be active for 3 days and like 60 posts. Context for the raise matters and lives in the right threads in football and recruiting.

I hope he doesn't, and instead just wanders around practices and meetings making disapproving faces and passive aggressive comments under his breath like some kind of coaching mother in law.
He comes shuffling through team meetings in his bathrobe with a cigar and scotch in his hand and a newspaper under his arm on the way to the bathroom.

I think they may be referring to the cash payments on unofficial visits. Pretty much everyone does this though, so whatever.

That is not something I would have ever expected Lane to say.

I have high hopes for Nibblet. However, we didn't really hear anything about his progress this season. I wonder where he's at on the dev curve.
He was definitely talked about late in the season as someone who was picking things up. I think he will be a real factor in the return game next season, and then maybe he is ready for prime time in 2025.

No, I have no idea if he had any sort of talent advantages at Sioux Falls, and I’m not denying that he’s a really good coach. I’m saying that h2h wins in a few games doesn’t necessarily tell us much about how good of a coach he is relative to Sark or Lanning.
That Alamo Bowl victory where Bijan and Roschon opted out and Worthy was injured is certainly nothing to hang his hat on.

Add in Wingo who is different than any receiver on our roster at his size and speed. Next year we will likely have the fastest receiving unit ever at Texas as a whole
Our second team receiving group would be pretty scary as well. Wingo, Moore/Niblett, and maybe just maybe Ryan Williams? Ho lee chit

This is why Norvell's odds for the bama job suddenly spiked
1% of the football budget? What kind of horseshit is that? If I was FSU, I would tell them to get fucked on any sort of monetary penalties and just accept the bullshit other penalties that they can easily skirt. The NCAA should have no jurisdiction on something an NIL collective does or does not do that is not formally affiliated with the school.

I ain't terrified of anyone. I'd just prefer Bama to suck for a while. and quite frankly for on the field results I'd rather have DeBoer than Sark. there I said it.

I don't think people realize how big of a recruiting witch Orgeron is.
He's been one of the best recruiters in the country for 2 decades.
Which is amazing considering you need Google translate to tell what the hell he is saying. I guess wimmenz romancing each other in his lap is a hell of a recruiting pitch.

Boy, what a fucking dumpster fire this thread has become. It’s cool though, it’s not as if Texas has any key personnel vacancies or anything. Nothing else happening that could domino some things either. Yeah, fuck it, argue over unprovable shit or argue over population counts across the country. Riveting shit.

Caldwell better strike while the iron's hot because he may fall down the pecking order as this coaching carousel precipitates new portal entrants.
He is the best DT in the portal. There will be no falling down the pecking order.

I can tell you who I would not want to see in Tuscaloosa, that is Chris Klieman. Those resources, game over man, but they wouldn’t consider him
Klieman has never proven he can recruit at the level necessary to win in the SEC. His highest rated recruit ever is Avery Johnson, a low 4 star. He is more about developing guys and great coaching, which are both awesome, but there is only so much of that you can get away with against Georgia, LSU, etc. when they can just out athlete you.

Columbus, OH, is as big or bigger than Austin, TX, from a population perspective. It's the biggest city in the state by far and fucking dwarfs cities with pro teams like Cincinatti and Cleveland. I'm not super familiar with the kind of business and industry in Columbus, but I'm betting it's fairly decent.
They have quite a bit of retail, insurance, healthcare, and manufacturing up that way. A way bigger amount of household names in the retail space than you would figure make their HQ's there. For example L Brands (Victoria's secret etc.), Kroger, Big Lots, and others. On the Manufacturing side they have company's like Scott's miracle grow, Worthington, Stanley, Honda, etc.

I see them in tiers:
Tier 1: Ohio State (number 1 overall. they've got everything except market and even still, Columbus isn't a small town), Texas (resources, recruiting, national brand), USC (history and market), Georgia (recent dominance. they might be tier 2 for the next coach though)
Tier 2: Michigan, Alabama
Tier 3: LSU, Florida, OU
Tier 4: Notre Dame
Tier 5: A&M, Tennessee, Penn State, maybe Auburn?
Georgia's recent success not withstanding, they are pretty far behind a number of other schools historically. I try not to be a prisoner of the moment on these types of things due to so much sustained success being dependent on home run coaching hires. There are very few schools that can weather the storm of prolonged futility and still be considered a top job. Texas, USC, tOSU, Michigan, and Bama would be the schools on that list. Notre Dame, Georgia, LSU, OU, Florida are all top 10-15 jobs historically, but could very well fall way back in the pecking order similar to Tennessee after Fulmer.

They mentioned it, but it sounded like it may be too late since he has been locked in with Tenn for a few weeks and classes are starting.
