  1. Recognizing this will cause pain, but anyone know if there is a good breakdown of the defensive scheme we played this season vs. PK / Lake at Washington? Hoping for an article or video talking about the differences.
  2. Wonder if this hurts us for Devin brown or Campbell? Idk if any of our other recruits were also interested in USC but I know those two were.
  3. Who do we go after to fix this defense? Scenario 1 of PK and Joseph gone and scenario 2 of just Joseph. If Joseph alone is gone we need some sort of co-DC because it's evident PK can't coach a full defense (which is mind boggling for $1.7 mill a year). I don't buy that this is Joseph's fault and that they aren't on the same page, but some claim that is the case so let's pretend it is for the post. Muschamp is ideal but since he said no last year then who else.
  4. Defense showed positives for the first time the entire season in second half. Still horrific playcalling at times particularly in first half (their OC also seemed to call a bad game in the second). Got dominated in the run game in first half despite this team being completely one dimensional. Feels great to get a win but I still think big changes need to be made (goodbye PK if it were me). Defense showed negative progress all season except this second half. Just about every position group sucked. Playcalling was awful all season long. I got to think an offensive mind like sark has recognized this isn't only on the players.
  5. So it begins. I expect this week will be the start of our players jumping in the portal. Staff needs to work hard to keep the right pieces.
  6. ^^^ these are some of the questions that I wish we could hear the coaches comment on and get their thinking. The UW scheme is different at almost every position. Separate thread / post: This is not a players thing, it is entirely on the staff for scheme, personnel choices, development, and even motivation. Five losses in a row plus two more (likely) in a mediocre big12 including giving up 50+ to Kansas is coaching. This is a Texas excuse every single year and it's a scape goat. We have other (albeit often young) corners, safeties, and lbs that could play and / or be moved around (ford, gbenda, Blackwell, coffe, adimora, cook -- plays less now with heavy, dorbah, richardson, and whoever else). I am not suggesting we win the big 12, but blaming players for this is a joke. You can see the offenses potential, the defense is a complete failure. We are ranked 100+ in the country for D. With high three and four star guys on the bench.
  7. Is there a reasonable chance PK is gone at the end of the season? Regardless of history, it's obvious he has done a horrific job this season on scheme, personnel, and playcalling. But almost equally as important what sticks out to me is we are asking our DL to eat blocks and let our LB and safetys run free. That is fine if those are what you recruit well, but thats not Texas (particularly LB). However, we do have the potential to recruit some dogs on the DL. Negative recruiting is going to get easy next season when we our d is just as bad and we suck. I'd love to eat my words, but frankly I think Sark is going to dig his own grave if we choose to stick with this defense. I cannot understand how an offensive mind like Sark cannot see how terrible this defensive coaching and scheme has been. Every week ex players are ripping it.
  8. Has there been any update on sorrell? Would like to see him get some more experience and PT given our pass rush and dline woes.
