  1. Jesus Christ it's a sad day when I'm worried another team is going to suck worse than us.
  2. Early signing period. Congrats to our new additions. Vic continues to reload.
  3. This all day. As you say “aside from the gun thing” this is just normal life drama. But whether he gets charged or not, whether he plays for us or not, whether they go off and have 2.5 kids together or not, hopefully he gets the gun thing address in his life. Don’t know if that was his gun or his hand but he needs to know and believe that guns aren’t the answer to non-life threatening conflict. Way too much easily avoidable death these days, especially in young black men.
  4. Vic on Kyndall: 7:14 “We’ve had three kids who typically practice a lot, who haven’t been in practice and you throw Kyndall in that mix, who hasn’t been in practice and so it’s, you know, to me that affects our team in a negative way, so we’ve got to get all those kids back and get them healthy to where they can contribute a little bit because I think our team really benefits when we can have everybody there.”
  5. Didn’t see Kyndall Hunter at the Depaul game. I might have missed her but this is not trending the right direction. I hope she sticks it out. If she doesn’t, we are low on guards this year, just Rori, Sonya and Shaylee. Those are three great guards but we could use another. They have Jak listed as a guard at 6’2” but I think she’s more like 6’ 3-4” and a foul prone freshman but with a lot of potential. (5 fouls in 5 minutes…) Not sure of her ball handling skills. Sonya and Rori both had 0 fouls vs Depaul and Shaylee had 3
  6. Really excited about having Hadi Faye on the team. She was a large part of why we lost to Tech at home last year with 11 boards in that game in 18 minutes. Going to be nice to have her in burnt orange, she had 10 boards Sunday in 14 minutes, went 7-9 from the free throw line. Glad the injury turned out to be nothing. She seems to have a Rodman like nose for rebounds, good at scoring around the rim, hits her free throws and picks up fouls on the other team’s bigs. Really nice impactful role player for us.
  7. We need a new thread for this year. I'm a rookie but maybe @LTtxfan @Js1 or @Pancho could start one for us? Or maybe just rename this one. Thank you.
  8. UConn loses another one. Freshman forward Ice Brady will miss the 2022-23 season after suffering a dislocated patella in her right knee.
  9. Orange and White tonight at 5:30 at the Moody.
  10. Don't forget to vote for our ladies. You can vote once a day. Vote Here
  11. Rori made All America second team. More accolades for our sophomore point guard. Congrats to Rori.
  12. 6 months of 82 games trying to fail, just to have a seat at the loser’s table on a nail biting May 16th date with an 86% chance of not winning the 7’2” prize. Hell I’m in.
  13. Taylor Jones is up for The Lisa Leslie Award presented annually to the best women's basketball center in D1 You can vote for each player here
  14. No, you are correct. Two separate games with no winners facing off. We play Illinois and go home.
  15. Aaliyah up for the Katrina McClain award which recognizes the top power forwards in women's NCAA Division I college basketball.
  16. A handful of Horns on award watch-lists this year. Well deserved.
  17. Texas basketball media days: Longhorns express excitement about upcoming season Senior guard Shaylee Gonzales: "We have a really stacked team right now. We're going to be super tough. I actually got here two months ago. I'm a grad transfer (from BYU) and the differences between teams, I just feel like this team is more aggressive and tough. I feel like I'm playing with taller, faster, stronger girls. Obviously it's a different conference jumping from the WCC to the Big 12 so I'm just really looking forward to being able to see what our team can do with what we've been practicing and conditioning with. I'm just super excited." Senior guard Sonya Morris: "Every year I'm really excited to play but I think this year, it tops all the other years because the opportunities and we really have a true chance to make it to the national championship. I just think if we just stick our nose to the grind and just stay with it, stay focused, stay consistent, I'm just really excited to see how far we will go." Junior guard Shay Holle: "So excited, especially being in the Moody Center, this is the first week of official practices in here so it's very motivating just seeing how nice it is. Hopefully seeing these stands be filled is going to be really fun." Junior forward Taylor Jones: "This is definitely a special group and we are looking to do some damage. I mean, the chemistry with all of us is just amazing, and we also have a lot of talent. I'm very excited just to play alongside of them." Sophomore forward Aaliyah Moore: "I'm so excited. I'm healthy, we look good, have a good schedule coming up so I'm really excited to play with this team. I think we're going to surprise some people. I'm excited. I'm a sophomore now, not a freshman so it's gonna be a really good year." This team is loaded with talent and attitude, best chance in a long time to cut the final nets. You don't want to see this group warming up in your gym. Nor do you want to see this guy working the other bench:
  18. The Codio redshirt was expected but hope the Hunter issue is nothing. Those "private matters" can go south in a hurry.
