  1. I agree with you. I kind of feel that removing future difficult non conference games on your schedule as a response to this season feels like Aggy mentality. Beat teams like Florida that we should absolutely beat and we would have been a no brainer lock for the playoff this year.
  2. There's been a lot of (deserved) talk about out of conference scheduling. But if Alabama doesn't make the playoff tomorrow, it raises a very bizarre question regarding conference championship games going forward. Specifically, if you're ranked on the fringe of the Top 10, but safely in the CFP field going INTO conference championship weekend, would it be more beneficial to simply decline the invitation to go play your championship game? BYU needed the Big 12 title to solidify their spot. There are no other quality Big 12 teams. They have no resume builders aside from a lone win against Utah. Plus they were ranked 11 and were going to be shoved out by other conference champions if they didn't win. But Alabama really did NOT need that game today. Alabama finished ahead of Ole Miss, A&M, and OU in SEC standings. If we had lost to A&M last week, Alabama would have sat home this week and would have been a 100% lock for the playoff. Yet they're potentially going to miss the field simply because they HAD to play one extra game than the rest of them. I get it, it's Alabama. They've been given the benefit of the doubt A LOT. They've been given free passes A LOT. I know. I would much rather we get in over them. But I truly think that the business decision for the committee has to be to still let Alabama into the playoff. Because if they don't make it, teams might as well just say "No thanks. We're good. We like where we're seeded. We don't need game" and just refuse to play a 13th game before the post season. And let's not forget, last year Georgia largely got knocked out of the playoff because they were playing with an inexperienced Gunnar Stockton because Beck got knocked out in the SECCG. Higher seeded teams with literally nothing to gain have a real argument that the conference title game as a nuisance and an unnecessary risk. Conference title games are nice revenue generators for the conferences, but if they're literally going to cost conferences representation in the CFP then I wonder if teams and also conferences as a whole start to wonder what benefit they really add. I really think Conference Championship games could be on the way out depending on how tomorrow morning shakes out. Maybe not imminently, but it definitely could be on the horizon. And I hate pushing a Bama talking point. They've reaped plenty of rewards over the last decade.
  3. Vandy flipping a 5 Star Quarterback from Georgia. The game really has changed.
  4. Goodnight, friends. I love you all. Even the two of you that are still fighting about the cfp berth for some reason. Have a great night and an even better tomorrow. Proud of you all! And it's goodbye to A&M.
  5. I don't think we need to stoop down to TNT. I have this vision of a television network... one that exclusively plays Longhorn content. could be huge.
  6. as someone who has made edits before that never got to see the light of day, I just know being able to play this in DKR had to feel incredible. so good.
  7. If you guys wanna reminisce 😍 siap
  8. G.R.I.N.D. G.R.I.N.D.
  9. There is a scenario at play that I don't think we've really considered with the whole possibility of getting to the playoff. More than likely, the path to the playoff involves the committee ranking Texas at 10. Because the 11th spot will probably be claimed by the ACC champ and the 12th spot will definitely be claimed by G5 champ. It's reasonable to expect that Aggy will be viewed by the comittee as the worst 1-loss team in the top 12 which would move them down to 7. So there's a real chance that IF Texas were to somehow sneak into the playoff, they'd need to play the first round in College Station.
  10. gotta feel bad for Elko. He broke out the hoodie his buddy made for him back in 2003 and it went and derailed the whole season :( poor fella.
  11. It is legitimately hilarious that in Aggy's best season since the 90s, all it took was one loss against us to keep them out of the conference championship game. Georgia, Ole Miss, Bama are all sitting there with losses accrued way earlier in the season and Aggy can't do anything about it and has to sit at home next week. Amazing.
  12. Look, if Tech wants to drop bags, they're more than welcome to. But I fear that they're going to learn that signing five stars does not automatically translate to wins. Tom Herman and Charlie Strong were also able to snag 5 stars.
  13. I think Quinn is a good QB and I think he really did enough to win the game yesterday. He had two picks, but he also accounted for the second most passing yards allowed by the Georgia defense all season. And if we don’t have a false start on a field goal, there’s a chance the game never goes to overtime and we walk out with a win. However, I think the biggest knock against Quinn is that in his 3 years here I think you can only count maybe 1 game where he made the throw that won you the game. And that was against a pretty mid TCU team last year. The other chances he’s had to engineer a legacy defining drive, he’s come up short. I think there is a realistic chance that Texas wins a championship this year, but only if Quinn doesn’t have to go on a game winning drive to do so. Otherwise, I fear we’re out of luck. I want to give him grace and I want him to prove me wrong because I want every Longhorn to succeed at the highest level. But right now the gameplan has to be build a lead and then hold on for dear life in the second half.
  14. Oh! They do indeed. For some reason their 5 star column is empty on the team rankings page.
