Oh, I'm not holding my breath. I just think a 9+ win season for us and a 5-ish win season for them, maybe Mom starts side-eyeing her boy about the Aggys.

Fisher is going to get a pass his first year just like Herman did. I don't think either team's record is going to make a difference unless we go on some miraculous run to the playoffs. If A&M loses badly to Clemson and Bama, you just tell the kid "If you were out there playing, we would have won. You're the difference. And you can come in and start next year."

Was it my imagination, or were there fewer flips last year because of the early signing period? We obviously don't have a big enough sample size to draw conclusions, but I think we are going to see fewer flips going forward.

  2. No odds on Westbrook?

If the Lakers win more than 50 games it will be difficult not to vote for LeBron. He's the best player in the league and there will be empirical evidence of just how valuable he is on a win/loss basis. Not to mention that there have been many years when he was the best player in the league and didn't win, which probably shouldn't matter but will make it much easier to vote for him if there is another qualified candidate.

  3. I'm sure all the rape victims are feeling vindicated today because Baylor has decided to not play in a football game they were never going to qualify for. Finally, justice is served. After all of their cover ups, half truths, self indignation, denials, tone deaf pr moves, victim blaming and flat out lies, it's good to see they have learned their lesson and finally taken the high road. Unfuckingbelievable. Baylor couldn't change even if they actually wanted to. Somebody please kick these fucksticks out of the conference.

Yes, maybe and that is my point.    There are many who are acting like it's a foregone conclusion that Doncic will be a superstar.

I think we need a better definition of superstar. If the dividing line is Giannis and Tony Parker, then I don't remember a lot of folks saying he was going to be one of the top what, 5-10 players in the league? The only guys I can remember saying that sort of thing about in the past maybe 20 drafts were Lebron and Anthony Davis. I don't recall anybody putting Doncic in that class.

It may take a few years or realignment because the conferences are so lopsided right now, but I think he's going to be an all star. Now being a top 5 or so player in the league is a huge reach for just about any player coming out.  I also don't see a lot of guys come into the league with his size with his combination of shooting, handles, passing and basketball IQ. I've been wrong before but it's somewhat akin to my evaluation of Porzingis -- here's an unusually talented guy with unique skills for his size playing in the second best league in the world at a very young age, and putting up really good numbers.

  5. Losing out on a couple of the dbs is no big deal because of last year's haul and we've supplemented nicely oos. But losing Leal and Wright seemingly out of the blue when both were considered leans is a nut punch. And the extent to which they are cheating is irrelevant. Whatever they are doing and whatever they are selling is obviously working. Rationalize it away talking about bread and decommit season all you want, but we can't be losing in state head to heads with agricultural like this.

I'd be remiss not to mention Reese Moore. Talk about nice feet in drills. That kid is put together like a big, slick tuna fish.

Very excited about watching Reese Moore develop. He's like a big slick tuna fish but with feet. I'm penciling him as a future first round pick and an exhbit in the natural history museum.

  7. There is a zero percent chance that Meyer didn't know. Zero. First he had his fixer and Earle Bruce go in and talk her out of pressing charges almost a decade ago and then he continued to let this go even though his wife was getting text messages from the victim. He's done.

Urban Meyer was a steaming bucket of dick cheese at Florida and big shock, he still is now. To paraphrase, "It's like a new generation of excuse. He's not going to be able to rub pixie dust on this thing. He's going to get a dose of reality. Ohio State just dropped an administrative leave on him that's going to lead to his termination."

Adams contract was a retarded overpay, but he wasn't coming off the NBA career death injury either. It's hilarious to think Cousins is going to be anywhere close to what he was pre-injury, as only 1 person has been able to do it.

I have no idea how Boogie's injury is going to respond, but much of that historical data is dated in light of today's advances in medical treatment and recovery, and it's also a pretty small sample size with great variation in player age. Boogie's game was never really predicated on his elite athleticism to begin with. I think he will be okay. I also think the narrative on him has improved a bit since he got out of Sacramento. It should get even better after a year in Golden State. At one time Zach Randolph was the biggest knucklehead in the league and then he grew up. Some of that could be happening to Cousins as well.

  9. Are we sure ChickenSandwich isn't a jhawk sock? My lord.... just awful, uninformed, horribly biased basketball takes.

I loathe the Warriors, but I loved watching their offense when Bogut was playing out of the high post. Boogie is going to amazing in that role. Offensively, he can do everything Bogut did but he can do it better. He has better range, better ball handing skills, he's a better passer, pretty much better at everything with the exception of setting non-called moving screens. His ball handling skills are obscene for a guy that big and he is the best post up player in the league. Having someone like that will open up the rest of the offense for the Warriors, as if they needed any help to begin with.

  10. Lol Danny Green had misdiagnosed torn groin last season. Kawhi and his uncle are idiots but for an organization like the spurs that prides itself on being at the forefront of everything like this... This is something that needs to be fixed. Terrible look indeed.

Of course, their practice facility is sharing space with their medical folks so it's not like there is any conflict of interest.

So much for being the model franchise in all of pro sports. You might as well bring back Bob Bass and John Begzos at this point.

    Per Real GM:

Average age of the Lakers roster is 25.3.

In the last 5 yr only these teams that are the same age or younger made the playoffs.

    Blazers '17-18 (24.6)

    Blazers '16-17 (24.7)

    Blazers '15-16 (24.9)

    Celtics '15-16 (24.6)

    Bucks '14-15 (24.2)

    Celtics '14-15 (25.0)

    Rockets '13-14 (25.2)

    .............................................................

Blazers '18: Lost in the first round

Blazers '17: Lost in the first round

Blazers '16: Lost in the 2nd round

Celtics '16: Lost in the 1st round

Bucks '15: Lost in the 1st round

Celtics '15: Lost in the 1st round

Rockets '14: Lost in the 1st round

None of those teams had the best player in the world on them.

The Lakers played .500 ball the last half of the season. Their young talent is very good and LeBron is the poster child for the "make your teammates better" all stars. All those knuckleheads they signed are on one year deals and the free agent crop is much, much better next year. Even with all those clowns, I think they are the third best team in the west. This is a throw away season for them essentially. LeBron put Miami and Cleveland behind the eight ball with his win now insistence and running off young talent. Perhaps he's actually learned from his mistakes. Good young talent on rookie deals with one more max player might be the mix he needs to compete with the Warriors and extend his career.
