I got the Pixel 3a XL two days ago for $380 after $100 rebate from Verizon. Highly recommend.

I'm seriously considering picking up the 3a. It checks all the boxes for me. Bezels be damned!

I am an extremely light loser. Just talk, some text, some browsing. No gaming.

I don't care about the build, the case hides the plastic but the plastic looks nice. Makes phone lighter.

Great Battery. Cranked it up at 6 am just turned it off (9 pm) with 83% battery left.

    Camara is great.

Don't swim with the phone, don't take it in the shower, don't drop in the toilet and don't use it in the rain. Nyet to water proofing.

Don't care about wireless charging. Plug in works better.

Love the headphone jack. Big battery, 3 years of updates.

I may upgrade to 4 XL in the fall. Depends.

Only changed I may have made is getting the 3a since that battery would likely suit my light usage.

    Fuck Samsung, fuck Apple.

Go the extra week and totally reset your tolerance then get blown away by how easily you get high again. Been about 2 years since I've had a break, looking at maybe doing a no weed June. Probably won't, but I'll think about it.

    It's the thought that counts.

I lived in Florida for about 2 years, a long time ago.  Even while in Florida, I never really met any Florida apologists or people that were particularly proud to be from Florida.  Most could take it or leave it, like being from Idaho or Vermont.  And you live in Austin, you meet people moving here from every corner of the nation...but you don't really encounter many people from Florida.  Maybe something to do with the fact I no longer dabble in the flesh trade.  Having said that, I have a close business colleague now who's in-laws are all from Florida and wow, they could not be more proud of Florida.  It is fascinating to hear them go on and on about how awesome Florida is, it's just awash in luxury goods and services, beautiful people, super business climate, and the cherry on top-their family is one of the coolest, most respected families in their suburb going back multiple generations.  Listening to them regale us with their tales of yore is like listening to the gang from Bayside High.  Only Bayside High School is a trailer park.  And Mr. Belding helps them cook meth.  And Screech is the normal one.

Other than Cersei's death being entirely unsatisfying, this was a fantastic episode and absolutely fits Danny's character.  Fairly ironic that on the day Jaime dies, the daughter of the king he killed to save KL, did exactly what Jaime prevented her father from doing.  Awesome.

My only concern about taking out Cersei, is they'll have to kill Drogon, too.  I like Drogon.

I took over a business that had been using personality tests during the hiring process. We were getting weird results so I called up a guy who has a PhD in this area and is one of the country’s leading authorities on the use of these tests to predict employee performance.

When I told him what we were doing and what tests we were using, he became very exasperated. He explained he deals with this issue every day, namely a bunch of dumb ass companies playing amateur psychiatrists. He recommended we stop using them right away.

The important question that is not typically considered is not how they test, but rather if they will be happy doing the job. People only perform well if they are doing a job that they actually like. Another issue is common misconceptions about what type of job a person will like if they test a certain way.

For instance, people look for extraversion in sales roles but highly extraverted people don't do well in sales because they are not good planners, tend to be disorganized, talk too much, doesn't listen to what the customer is saying and most importantly, get their feelings hurt too easily when people don't respond to them.

A slight introvert who is money hungry/success oriented will outperform an extrovert (high) every time unless we are speaking about high volume product sales, where the customer comes to them, such as retail sales.

Another problem is IQ. A certain MB type for someone with an IQ of 120 will perform differently than someone with the same MB type and an IQ of 100.

Lots of factors but again, what it boils down too is does that person want to do this job..and why.

There's probably some truth and some quackery with the MBTI. It's helped me for sure though. For my type (ENFP), it's helped to explain certain quirks I have when it comes to productivity.

For the longest time, my wife would be confused about that fact that when I have important tasks to do, I take on more projects. She's always trying to talk me into dropping other projects when I have something important coming up. I never knew why, but for some reason I work better in a state of chaos and massive activity. That's a hallmark of the ENFP - to be more productive the busier you are.

So you agree that Trump is guilty of obstruction? No I do not. He used all the powers granted to him via the Office of the President to defend himself from a false accusation of a crime. A crime that theoretically could result in his death if proven true.

But you disagree with the Mueller Report's findings that the Kremlin's efforts were "wide" and "sweeping?"  No. I think I said just the opposite. Maybe reread that portion.

You agree that they knew help was coming and welcomed it.  I don't think they knew it was coming but, yes they welcomed the help. The Russians exposed a fraud named Hillary and as I said above this could have definitely won the race for Trump.

Russia, are you listening?  Meh..I don't think the Russians hold Surly in high enough regard to be listening in on us...:)

Yeah, but everyone sucks so nothing matters. Well do you agree that the dossier was funded by a cut out law form funded by the DNC ? That is fact. Christopher Steele himself admits that the dossier was Russian intelligence? Possible Russian disinformation to hurt Trump to cover their ass whoever won the vote. It was used to hurt Trump in the latter stages of the election cycle..

There is a middle ground here that I think we all can deal with.

No Trump hater here gives a shit. That took me a long time to realize that. At first, I actually thought this thread was for a serious discussion lol. Now this thread, when I bother to read it that is, is for comic relief only. The sooner you realized that the better off you will be.

So I’m fucked up. Also, just set a record. On Tapa, on my Participated list, I was the last poster on 14 consecutive threads. This requires a certain amount of persistence, late night posting, and lack of shame. I copy & pasted “ou sucks” on about 12 of those. Beat that mother fuckers!

I need to stress here, I am quite fucked up.

As well you should be, Dr. Doom.

Got a new job and have to do the standard 10-panel drug test.

Anyone else have to dry out for a bit before for one of these things?  I’m trying to give it a good amount of time to flush out of my system but it is kind of annoying to have to do this just bc I smoke weed.

From what I understand, given my metabolism and usage, I should be fine after about three weeks or so. I bought some test kits to be 100% sure before I go submit my sample, but I’m curious what others experiences are with this type of thing.

Take this. Give it 30-60 days for pot. Pot is fat soluble so stays longer. Coke, meth, heroin, short half-life.

thanks for mentioning that, it's probably their best instead of the overplayed "what you need" (which is still good).

I've played this dozens of times since re-discovering it

the crisp clear booming voice with so much range and youthful raw hungry intensity. One of the best vocal productions of the 80s bar none.  RIP Hutchens we lost a treasure.

Years ago I had a recruiter call me up saying he was looking to fill a position that fit my credentials to a tee.  He went through a description of the job and it sounded pretty good so I figured why not see what they have to say.  The recruiter said that the company wanted all candidates to take a personality test as the first step in the process.

I said, "Yeah, we're done here."  Not that I have a problem with taking a personality test, but I don't want to work for a company that puts that much faith into complete shite.

That recruiter should have started out by asking if you would like to hear about an ideal opportunity should he come across it. If your answer was yes, he should have asked you what you consider ideal and why.

After learning that and if the opportunity fit, he should have brought it up. If you agreed that it sounded good and that you would like to proceed with it, he should have brought up the personality test, explaining that if truly interested then this is the first step before he could present you to his client.

People will always do what they perceive is in their best interests. Although sometimes in career matters, they may have a misconception of the "next step" to achieve their end goals.

The chore is to find out what people think is in their best interests and go from there.
