O’Dowd’s lack of range is the biggest reason he shouldn’t play imo. Like you said, neither can hit (and neither is really good defensively) but at least with Dee the ball stays in the infield more often. Jack moves like a fucking turtle out there

Early in the year I was thinking we had the worst luck ever, everything hit to him was a seeing eye single.

Then I realized he's just slow as fuck.

Full disclosure…I only watch the NBA during the playoffs.

Having said that, how the hell did OKC play their way to a 1 seed? I’m just not impressed with them as a team. SGA is legit, but I’m not seeing much else that says this is a 1 seed.

I thought Draymond did a good job of answering this on Inside the NBA after the game.

Basically said they ran a pretty simple offense all season that works during the reg season when you're playing teams on night 2 of a back to back etc.

It's not working as well in the playoffs when teams have seven games to throw different looks at you, and as a result everyone not named SGA is having a much harder time.

Bowie House has a solid bar with an upscale crowd and drink list. Thompson’s downtown for more of a cocktail bar, although I haven’t been since the remodel. Atlas over on South Main has kind of moody vibe and good drinks. If you want something more low key or a dive, there’s Ye Old Bull and Bush or Showdown.

But for most types, my go-to would be the bar in the new Bowie House hotel.

Depending on what kind of night it is at Showdown, that Boston guy would either immediately move to FW, or ask his buddy if he had a severe head injury when he rec'd that place.

But I like the rec. You're a gambler going for the high risk high reward option.

Friend is in town next week for two days. He wants BBQ, Tex Mex and a steakhouse. Plus a bar or two.

Hit me up aside from Goldees, Heim and Panther City.  And Billy Bob’s. Been a long time since I was in Fort Worth.

What kind of bar are you looking for?

Anyone been to Lola’s, the Cuban joint between Razzoo’s & Outback yet? That’s my hood, & have not heard a single positive or negative thing from anyone.

The Lola's truck used to be near Henderson at Weatherford near downtown I think. I used to order delivery from there when working from home. I didn't love the entrees but the Cuban was solid.

Burning bad arms on Friday to steal the series on Sat/Sun is an embarrassing strategy for lowly, talent devoid programs, but damned if Pierce hasn't mastered it

Narrator: It turns out they were all bad arms.

So you’re saying that Lummus, Hurley and Duplantier are worthless pitchers that should never see the light of day or what?  Cause they’re the ones who let it get away.8 runs in 2 innings.

Just a week later two of those pitched 6 shutout innings.  Then the other went 3.2 innings giving up 1 versus a team that hits .320 in conference.

I didn't say any of that. But thanks for the input, Mrs. Pierce.

Ok. But that is not what you wrote.

You keep trying to make this argument, but the "unacceptable" nature of the UTRGV loss was walking or hitting 20 fucking batters and being down 13-1 or whatever the fuck it was.

It only highlighted, again, that the pitching coach hasn't reached much of this staff, and/or hasn't adequately recruited arms.

I don't want them taking Brooks.  They don't need to waste a high pick on a RB, even if he's potentially the best...especially off injury.

Brooks is a luxury they could take if they had other key needs addressed already. They don't.

But it feels like Brooks is Jerry's 2024 pet cat.

As a neutral observer, the trade down was smart. Clearly Dallas was targeting one guy and knew he'd be their later in the round.

I do find it interesting that when I looked at mocks pre-draft, it felt like all of them had the Cowboys taking Guyton. Usually hard to for analysts to nail picks later in the round.

Dallas is usually pretty easy to project because their war room has more leaks in it than the Titanic post-iceberg.

No...."I know what let's go watch them call names and shake hands". It's not unimpressive what a must see spectacle the NFL has made of this thing, but yea they weird.

It was a lot weirder when the crowd was just the 500 or so loser virgins who hung out in that ballroom in NYC all day long.
