I actually think Baylor will be a problem because they played TCU arguably better than Texas did. Baylor should have won, we were lucky to get a gift TD that made the game seem closer than it was.
How’d they do against KSU relative to Texas?- 1

And the 4 games we lost by 1 possession...we had no chance?
If Texas makes a play, it was luck. If the other team makes a play, it shows how poorly coached Texas is.- 2

Fun thread to read, though I had to flip back to espn.com a couple of times to verify that it was Texas on the good side of 41-0 and 55-14.

I'm glad the basketball team paid its dues for past sins that included hiring Shaka. It took all of... two seasons... for them to reverse those sins and have one of the best teams in the country under the new head coach.
But that is just totally unattainable for the football team, right, Thatguy?
We need at least 3-4 seasons to turn this thing around, right?
Because no college football program has ever turned it around in less than 3 seasons.
If only there were, you know, meaningful differences between building a 44-man two deep with lines that require strength few 18 year olds have relative to 22 years old and building an 8, maybe 9, man rotation in basketball. A couple of players, or even one, can carry a basketball team. VY was a badass, but Texas wasn’t going to win it all without a lot of other badasses.
Yeah, of course, other programs have turned it around more quickly. I wonder how many of the ones that did so were so rotten to the core that they were up in arms over their school song.
Look at the roster turnover. This is a foundation up rebuild with many areas of weakness and youth remaining. And, yeah, some WTF coaching decisions.
This team, from the ground up, would play the one here when Sarkisian arrived and kick its teeth in. Progress is being made and more is needed.- 5

Expect to get zero calls in this one tonight.
I expect Texas to get a negative number of calls tonight. -
Would’ve preferred an ISU win, but you can’t always get what you want. I hope I can get what I need.

Barron out.
All three? -
A QB is treated differently than any other player, and he wasn't sliding.
We've often seen an INT near the end of the game where the defender falls down to protect the possession. Lots of those guys get hit right after their knee hits the ground but it's not called because they do it just before the hit. Not enough to time to pull up. Doesn't matter that he was in the end zone. He stayed up until before the hit. It's a live ball.
It’s not just QBs who can slide.
Awful call.
If you’re fine with it, we’re just not going to agree. -
So B12 refs infiltrated to SEC. No harm in letting that play out.
Agreed.
Maybe helped Alabama as it turns out. -
That fumbled ball could have been advanced. What are the announcers talking about?
Blown dead, though. -
He was STARTING to give himself up. Replay showed the knee didn't touch ground until a split second before the hit. If the receiver pulls up and the interceptor decided to run it out? Whistle wasn't blown. Play was still live. If he gets hit before the knee goes down and the ball pops out and goes out of bounds then it's a touch back. Play to the whistle.
But yeah, if be pissed of it was picked up against us, but I'd understand the reasoning whether I agreed or not.
A player who slides but hasn’t hit the ground yet has STARTED to give himself up. That’s what giving yourself up IS.
Awful call. -
Maybe, but it was a live ball until a half-second before the hit. Play to the whistle.
Player is giving himself up in the end zone. Knee on the ground. Shoulder to the head.
If that one is going to be rationalized away, anything the officials call tonight is good to go. -
Teams are going for it on 4th down with impunity against OU. They never stop them.

It's a different bad ref. I'm pretty sure musclehead retired.
The Big 12 has a lot of depth at the position.- 1

No foul after the play? Fuck ou, but gottdamn.
How the hell is that not a penalty on WV?
Preview of tonight’s officiating, imo.- 2

Your avatar: you have have chosen wisely.
Let me take this opportunity to compliment you on your avatar sense, as well.- 1

Youre right but idk if id consider that bama game "meaningful". It was an OOC game that basically had 0 stakes other than "its bama".
Not all that meaningful in retrospect. It would’ve had meaning and stakes had leads been closed out. Given that they weren’t, though, this one is more meaningful.- 1

I'm thinkin' these Sydney~Fashion TM Gotjimbo shirts would look fabulous on the Haitian children
Did a little shopping on the way out of the Rose Bowl.- 1

I mean, he is right based on everything the body work to this point.
That said, if I’m Sark, I’m playing a clip of that in a locker room. Simple message: This was broadcast on national TV from our own campus. What are we going to do about it?
Trust your QB against a 9 man front, celebrate, prep for Baylor.- 1

They just said last time Texas beat a top 5 team in Austin was 99? Wasn’t Ohio state top 5 when we beat them here?
That was in Columbus. And AZ.- 3

This feels like a Sooner buying Longhorn decals just to turn them upside down.
Be Texas. Don’t be “Not Them.” “Not Them” does Horns down playing Florida. Pass.- 2

Intermediate throws will also work. That Sanders guy seems pretty good, too. Just need to do enough to make them play the pass semi-honestly and make them pay when they don’t, even just to keep moving the chains.

Need to put a horned frog out there like UGA and see how it goes.- 2

Is that a can of Skoal in Sark's pocket?
He’s just happy to see you.- 1

Texas opens as an 8 point favorite v Baylor

I’m not saying Baylor will be “down.” I’m saying cherry-picking one game to judge relative performance probably doesn’t provide a lot of insight.
