  1. One thing to note on the Farm stuff, is that we've had an extraordinarily wet spring, which has planting as the 4th slowest in the past 32 years, with more rain to come. We are now getting to the point that significant loss of yield and acres for corn, soybeans, and spring wheat, as well as cotton is in play.

Businesses have complained privately for years of theft and issues with China but won’t say publicly because of the profit. Businesses can’t get past their short-term which is why the government must enact policies to protect US long term interests.

Yeah, just look at what happened to the British when they failed to crack down on US IP theft.

“It’s a little bit of piling on when you have so many different things that you’re struggling against,” said Steve Nelson, the president of the Nebraska Farm Bureau. “Obviously, the trade issue is one of those. The weather is one of those.”

Lance Atwater, 29, who farms corn and soybeans near Ayr, Neb., escaped the worst of the flooding but said that he has seen prices for some of his crops plunge. Mr. Atwater, a Republican who voted for Mr. Trump, said he was eager for a trade deal but taking a wait-and-see approach on the president’s policies.

“He’s claimed that he’ll get these trade deals worked out and that it will be a better deal,” Mr. Atwater said on Friday as he hauled grain. “That’s what we’re wanting to see — see those results.”

Jerry Mohr, 66, a fourth-generation farmer who grows corn and soybeans near Eldridge, Iowa, said he was growing frustrated.

“I admire the president for wanting to make change,” said Mr. Mohr, a Republican who voted for Mr. Trump, “but now we need to perform.”

He said the president’s success in finalizing trade deals, as well as expanding ethanol production, would help determine what happens in next year’s election.

“If the president comes through on what he says he was going to do, it would be hard for him to lose,” Mr. Mohr said. “If he doesn’t, it’s going to be hard for him to win.”

I’ve drank beer with 2/3rds of the people quoted in that article. If it’s from Reuters you there might be quotes from me elsewhere in the article.

Ironically, the NRA was originally chartered in the State of New York to help Yankees learn how to shoot better after the civil war.

Because they’re a New York based organization, the State of NY also has them under financial investigation.

Suppose that makes sense as the North's skills at burning shit to the ground were already up to par.

Lmao.  No.  She's a criminal defendant in the United States.  The burden is not on her to justify it.

And other than while she's incarcerated, I think you are completely full of shit on your "deterrence" arguments.

The bloodlust runs strong in this one.

Lets back the hypothetical up one more step.

Someone mistakenly enters someone else's home.  The homeowner is armed and blasts them as they walk through the door after fumbling with the lock/doorknob.

    Jail or no jail?

The homeowner meets all your criteria for punishment, hard, except that he didn't fuck up and enter the wrong person's house.

I’m pretty sure a few folks have been sent to jail for unloading on someone through their door. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Renisha_McBride

Was Hoiberg that bad at Chicago? Seems he could do better than Nebraska.

Everybody's betting on the him being born in Lincoln, his Grandpa being one time head coach at Nebraska, his niece working for the program already, as giving him more incentive than usual to take on this coach killing job.
