  1. See The Light has grown on me. I just caught myself humming it.
  2. Joe Davis just hit a grand slam for Houston. 14-11 NC T8
  3. White/Purple dress is a day or two from turning 17. Green dress 15. I hope your friend is in HS. 😁
  4. Pro Memoria still needs to grow on me. See The Light definitely has already.
  5. Overall, I lost interest around Track 7. The first 3 tracks + Miasma and Dance Macabre will be my go-to songs. Still doesn't hold a candle to their first album.
  6. Track 10 - "Life Eternal" It's an ok ending track. Nothing special.
  7. Track 9 - "Helvetesfonster" Another instrumental. Interesting.
  8. Track 8 - "Witch Image" Nothing really stood out about this one to me. I'll have to give it another listen.
  9. Track 7 - "Pro Memoria" Orchestra intro gives way to piano. Not a bad beat. Not my favorite song on the album, but not skippable.
  10. Track 6 - "Dance Macabre" This one is so catchy. Nice driving beat. This will have some crossover success like "Square Hammer."
  11. Track 5 - "Miasma" An instrumental song. I like it. Drums sound really good. Tons of synthesizer/keytar. Holy shit. A saxophone solo.
  12. Track 4 - "See The Light" Soft vocals paired with a fairly hard riff. Might be a skippable track for me. Will have to grow on me. Reminds me a lot of this band I remember from 10-15 years ago called Angtoria. Operatic woman singer backed up with hard music.
  13. Track 3 - "Faith" Love the heavy groove of this one.
  14. I just started the album. The intro, "Ashes," is pretty cool, as always. It's some kid(s) singing Ring Around The Rosie, but a little differently than I remember. Eerie sound. Transitions nicely into "Rats", which I'm on now. The end of "Rats" is so awesome.
  15. That's not necessarily true. Are you doing Keto for fat loss? Then after your induction period, you don't need to eat a bunch of fat. Your body is going to burn a certain amount of calories. Once you're in ketosis, it will seek out fat to burn. If you are giving it 1600 calories worth of fat off your plate, that is 1600 calories of fat that it won't take off your gut. If you're doing Keto for other reasons, and are already at your maintenance weight, then you will need to eat more fat since you don't have as much on your body to metabolize.
  16. Too much protein is not really a thing...unless you're eating insane amounts. You aren't. http://www.tuitnutrition.com/2017/07/gluconeogenesis.html?m=0
  17. Looks like I'm flying solo for the Friday night game.
  18. I'm really interested in getting into some hiking & camping. I'm looking to do it for a couple of reasons: 1) Exercise - I'm fat and need to get active. I hate treadmills and tracks. 2) I love nature and taking photos of wildlife/plants. I have one main obstacle - I use CPAP. I have to use it. Can't sleep without it. Anyone else bring it with them on camping trips? I have an older machine, so it's not all that small. Could I buy one of those portable generator/inverters like this: https://www.amazon.com/Webetop-42000mAh-Portable-Generator-Emergency/dp/B073J61T3Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1527744684&sr=8-3&keywords=portable+power+for+camping&dpID=51GgsXNwHLL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch What are some good places in Central Texas/Hill Country for a fat beginner? Any suggestions on essential gear? Personal tent suggestions? A particular backpack? I see hiking poles mentioned. I'll be going back and reading the previous 5 pages now.
  19. The G logo is up on 500 W 2nd. You can see it on the Independent's web cam. Click on the skyline tab and zoom in. Hopefully it'll be lit up soon. https://www.workzonecam.com/projects/balfourbeatty7/theindependent/workzonecam
  20. Lost 4 lbs over Memorial Day weekend. Nice! That's 66 lbs total since Jan. 10. I would not waste money on bottled ketones or whatever. You're chasing ketones when you do. Don't bother. Just eat under 20g of carbs a day and you'll be entering or staying in ketosis. Once you're body is fat-adapted, ketone levels may not even be that high because your body is running more efficiently on them.
  21. I stayed true to the Keto diet this entire weekend with my family. I ate 3 chips when we went for TexMex. Ate combo fajitas, the onions/peppers, sour cream, and queso. When we went to the Italian place, I had a ribeye, a Caesar salad (no croutons), and some broccoli covered in Alfredo and parm. I had some almonds a couple of times, so that may have kicked me up past 20g, but I didn't eat anything glaringly carby. My water intake definitely went down, as it always does when I'm not at work. No scale all weekend, so I have no idea if I lost anything. My negative thinking is telling me I'm probably still stalled out. I'll find out tomorrow.
  22. Don't sell your soul to work. My dad retired years ago and loves it. I'll be the same.
  23. Go over to the heavy metal thread. I posted a bunch of their new songs from the Houston show. I think I included faith.
