Ethiopia has 12 months of 30 days and a 13th month of either 5 or 6 days.

Their New Year starts on September 11, which is a terrible day to celebrate with fireworks and such.

Back on topic, this is the amount of toilet paper she routinely believes is acceptable to leave on a roll without replacing. Now I gotta duck walk across the bathroom for more cause I didn’t do a preemptive check before shitting.

You know those fancy hand towels in the bathroom that your wife says are only for guests?

    Problem solved.

USPS is awful. No accountability. Their prices are also now through the roof. Recently, I finished a book and wanted to send it to my sister in ABQ.  Had to go to the post office anyway so took the book in a box.  It was going to be something like $25 to mail the book at the cheapest possible rate. The stinking thing only cost $15 delivered from Amazon!  Needless to say, I did not mail the book but just bought another copy for her.

UPS might actually be worse. If, for whatever reason, the sender required signature for delivery, and you happen to not sit at home 24/7 waiting for the UPS guy, you’re screwed. There is no way to get ahold of them. You can try their phone number, but you have to input the tracking number by voice (not phone number pad), and does not recognize the numbers. I tried this with three different people (had 3 different friends try to speak the number), using all 4 chances you get in a phone call, and never was able to get past that dead trap in the help loop. Package got returned.

My favorite is when you buy something online, pay for shipping, and you get notification that it's been "shipped" (which actually means "they've created an address label"). One week later, the item is finally picked up by FedEx. 2 days later: travels from one side of the country to the next. Next day: delivered to USPS in your city. One week later: out for delivery. 3 days later: delivered to house two streets away

If I'd wanted to use the USPS, I'd have chosen that option. The unholy alliance between USPS and FedEx is beyond turrible.

2000 or so years of the weather man being more accurate has given them the benefit of the doubt in this comparison.

Now, when someone says "Omar's comin'...." That's a different story altogether.

See above analysis for why The Outsiders doesn’t fit.  A movie about 1960’s high-schoolers isn’t really Generation X in my humble yet correct opinion, even though it came out when a chunk of Gen X-ears were in high school.

1984 HS grad here. No one mentioning Footloose?

There was a whole "50's revival" during the 80's, and that nostalgia seems to fit with The Outsiders and Footloose (and "Back to the Beach", but I digress). Grease would fit here, at least from a "things that popular due to the new-fangled VCR thing".

A movie series that I'd add: High School Musical. May fit with the Millennials (2006 release, middle of their generation) OR with Gen Z (if they watched it as kids).
