  1. Bumping this... First trip to WB tomorrow and need to know what slaps and goes hard. I'll be in Albequerque and my favorite chicken place seems to have closed?

Top contenders based on the research thus far...

Buffalo chicken strip sammich on Texas toast

    Sweet and spicy bacon cheeseburger

    Patty melt

Thoughts or other recommendations from the experts?? I'll hang up and listen

    Pics or it didn't happen

Hey man... you do you, but no one has ever asked for pants photos from me (unless you count "please put your pants back on next time you take a photo").

But I'll absolutely post some from the slopes... really looking forward to this trip for a while.

Which of those guys are you referring to as a good source?

First response:   https://bsky.app/profile/da-jay-swizzle.bsky.social/post/3lhtqzzs63c2v (Bsky does not allow embedding of it for whatever reason)

Burke is a good source for things being broadcast. He's actually in a legal fight about sharing clips from a feed that wasn't being broadcast at the time.

And yup, the replies included DOTUS being booed, as you and I highlighted)

  4. Re: Trump boos and Fox sweetening the audio... This guy is a great resource for all things broadcasting.

The replies include some video of DOTUS being greeted when he enters the stadium as well.

People over there are literally losing their shit over 1) Things they can't control and 2) Things that don't really affect their daily life.

    Like college football games?

  6. Actually ended up with a pair of the outdoor research cirque pants mentioned above. Haven't had a chance to try them at Baker (not sure if I would... That's always been really heavy and wet snow), but heading back Purgatory this weekend... Should be on the slopes right after a beautiful three day snowstorm.

I could see Cascadia eventually seceding and joining Canada

Why tf would Canada risk war with the US over Cascadia, half of which (the eastern half) is full on right wing nut job guns over everything crazy

This right here. Are we talking about the Cascadia along the I5 corridor and west? Or the one east of the Cascades all the way through Idaho?

(and really, that line could be drawn from Bellingham to San Diego)

I've been noticing an interesting phenomenon over the past few weeks... Lotta flags coming down at my conservative/libertarian neighbors' houses and an equal number going up at my progressive friend's places.

    Same flag tho...

We are lucky. Any dumb motherfuckers that end up on Mars thinking it’s some sort of viable alternative to Earth are in for a rude awakening. It’s basically a rocky, dusty Antarctica with effectively no water or air, absolutely no life (so… nothing to eat or to use to make shelters or medicine), and zero protection from ionizing cosmic radiation. It’s basically the Moon but further away (and thus with depressingly low sunlight levels).

The maximum life expectancy for Mars colonists would be the duration of whatever food and water they were able to bring. Odds are they’ll die much sooner than that. Procreation and propagation of our species there is simply out of the question.

Mars is a dead-end for humanity. The severity of calamity necessary to make living on Mars more palatable than Earth is essentially world-ending. Like a collision with another planet or being swallowed by an expanding Sun. It’s not even a remotely better option compared to massive global warming, nuclear war, or even an extinction level asteroid strike.

So of course the moron techbros running the world now think it’s a good idea.

Sorry I'm late to the party here... but we've known for about 53 years that Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids... In fact, it's cold as hell. Plus, there's no one there to raise them if ya did.

And all the science, I don't understand, so I'll defer to you on the specifics

I had to google "softshell pants" and they don't appear to have anything to do with skiing.  Do you have the wrong term, or is wearing hiking pants for skiing a thing now?

    https://www.google.com/search?q=softshell+pants

    Yeah... Probably the wrong term.

I see backcountry skiers referring to these in that way- fleece lined pants that are water resistant (not totally waterproof). Hiking, climbing, ski touring, etc.

Most look like something you could also wear off mountain.

Here's an option from Outdoor Research

  10. Sorry if this ain't the forum for this question...

Looking to upgrade to softshell pants for skiing. Any recommendations from satisfied customers?

    Hanging up to listen...
