  1. I think it was Gerry that basically implied that Mitchell probably isn’t staying at Texas given his usage.  He didn’t put right say it but implied he would be shocked if Mitchell was on the Texas roster next year.

Gerry mentioned that the coach has to show they can get 5 stars to develop and get drafted or the sales pitch gets doesn’t work.  Also mentioned something along the lines of Terry Joseph is basically fighting for a job and isn’t going to rely on freshmen hence the limited playing time.

  2. If he wins the big 12 and keeps both 5 star recruits…. that’s probably a better coaching job than than the majority of years here at Texas.  I see us playing good team basketball and he’s doing a good job with rotations and utilizing our best players.  I want to see how the season plays out.  If he finishes top 2 in the big 12 and makes it to the sweet sixteen…. Might be stupid to let him go at that point.  If he accomplishes that, Let him have another year and if he fails, then fire him.

This stuff will continue to be an issue in the NIL/portal era

Hey Mo, one dude just caught 2 TDs in the CFP while you’re struggling to get starter reps on a team that had no LB depth.

Texas is one of the few schools trying to create a baseline for every player regardless of you even have an impact on the program.  You don’t get big big bucks for being below average in your job in the real world.  How about you put in the work and then the NIL stuff will come.

As for Sanders, I’m pretty sure the dude is already getting NIL money and probably more than other programs for the TE positions.

  4. When Catalon is healthy, he has proven to be an all-sec type player.  It he’s healthy, he is the best player on this defense.  I watched that dude make play after play his freshman year and half of his sophomore year thinking we missed out on a great player bc his parents did not trust Tom Herman and his character and boy were they right…

Anyways, excited about this pick up.  Having veteran players in Sweat, Ford, and Catalon/Thompson up the middle has me feeling better about maintaining our level of play and improving on it next season.

I listen to Bobby and Nahlin's "State of the Program" every week and I've never heard him say anything like this. On top of that, I've never heard him reveal such scathing info about any player ever. They're very measured that way.

So I call bullshit on this. Post the link/timestamp where Nahlin said anything remotely close to this.

Watch the last live video with Gerry, Bobby, and Eric.  I’m not going to listen the the hour long video again to find it.  You can look for it, he said it and he also referenced it in another video prior.

Then Gerry said something along the lines of “if you want more NIL, catch some more balls”.

I'd rather he play somewhere else because our staff appears unwilling to bench him and I imagine that frustrates the hell out of the rest of the WR room. I know it frustrates me and I'm not the one getting fucked out of some playing time because of some promise made a player who, on top of lacking production and skill at his position, is somewhat of a pain in the ass.

Nahlin has mentioned this multiple times in the last few videos with Bobby that there are teammates that don’t want him back even if the coaches want him back.  He also mentioned there are guys that are frustrated they get benched and get limited opportunities for any mistake and he keeps playing regardless of how my poor routes, drops and effort he displays.

All of those guys played behind very, very good OLs. Ours is not very good.

Good quarterbacks make their OL look good. I saw Quinn get plenty of time to throw in the osu game and other games and sail every thrower. On the other hand, he was running for his life against TCU.

Also, Clemson did not have a very very good OL.  I don’t think anyone would call the current USC OL very very good either…. Caleb Williams makes them look good.

    Yep.

All the great teams still playing keep rolling out freshman QBs after giving up on the previous freshman qb after about 7 or 8 total games.

    Glad you aren’t a coach.

I’m not disagreeing with you at all.  I do think QBs need time.  With that said,

    - Trevor Lawrence:  supplanted  Kelly Bryant in his 2nd game as a true freshman and led his team to a national championship during his college career.

    - Bryce Young:  looks like a future NFL star and Heisman winner.  Has looked this way since day 1 of his RS freshman year.

    -  Tua:  beats out Jalen Hurts and out plays him his freshman year.

    -  Caleb Williams:  beats out Spencer Rattler his RS freshman year.  Rattler may be a douche but he’s going to get drafted.

Quinn in his RS freshman year looked worse than Hudson Card most of the year and I don’t think very highly of Card’s ability…

I do think Quinn is talented and can be a good P5 starter and game manager.  I do not think Quinn is the 5 star generational talent we thought he was.  Those guys show it early on.

  9. Quinn is … okay.  He was supposed to be the best prospect and a sure fire thing from all the 9.95ers coming out of high school.  He’s clearly got an elite arm and can make every throw.   He also has terrible footwork, can’t go through his progressions, and clearly needed to spend more time learning the offense.  Those things can change with time and experience but he’s now has 2 full seasons with a college program.  He made some very good throws during the game and I don’t think the loss is on him.  With that being said, the tier QBs he is supposed to be in all have some dog in them.  They win.  Guys like Lawrence, Bryce Young, Tua, Caleb Williams, etc all played either their freshman or RS freshman years and looked great in big time games.  Those guys put the team on their backs and make plays.  At some the light has to click and he needs to dominate and be the guy that elevates the rest of the offense.  I just don’t see it to be honest.  I don’t know if it’s his personality or just very poor play most of this season prior to the Alamo bowl… I just don’t see a guy that is going to lead this team to a championship.

It won’t matter however.  Arch is the real fucking deal and has the mindset and leadership qualities you want in a QB.  I will be shocked if he isn’t the starting QB before next season ends.

  10. Cook is going to play day 1.  He’s a better route runner than anyone we have on campus outside of maybe Worthy.  He tracks the deep ball well and is going to be college ready from a physical standpoint.  Like coddax was saying, Margin Hooks has his WRs ready.

Also, Worthy scrubbed his Instagram of Texas stuff.  He had a picture of him in a Texas jersey pinned as of yesterday at the top of his page and it’s since been deleted.

Bobby Burton mentioned a little bit ago that Worthy has been playing with a broken bone in his hand.

Take that and run with it however you will. Just passing along the message.

Lmao… sure.  Sounds like something someone would say when they put together a shit season and probably doesn’t have the same financial offer in the portal he was getting at Texas.

  12. He lost the fanbase a while back with selfish “me” first attitude and it’s pretty clear he’s lost the trust and respect of his teammates.  Whether he was on the fence about transferring or not, he’s not really going to have a choice now.  Hard to be on a team when your teammates don’t respect you or want you on the team.  When was the last time you saw “star” player get chewed out by a teammate publicly during a game.  That display from Sanders wasn’t bc of his drops.  It probably how they entire team feels about about him.  Dudes are busting their ass playing for one another for limited opportunities while he bitches and complains with all the targets and attention he gets.  Just even outside of football, I hate being around people like that.

Our program will be better without him.  Pretty sure he’s like top 2 or 3 in NIL earnings and was demanding more with shit production and shit attitude.  We can get an elite proven WR for less than what he’s getting.

Just watched his highlights. Interesting player. He is playing Qb for his school. He is clearly a good athlete. He can be an excellent player, but hard to project at what position. Kind of kid I understand passing on now and  circling back on in 2/3 years in the portal. I wonder if the portal changes the calculus for kids like this.

A guy Gary Patterson takes and turns into an all conference player.  He's got his finger prints on our offers and evaluations.
