  1. lol the NFL can be idiotic at times.  There is no shortage of hot heads in the NFL.  The dude fucking makes plays and has for years against tough competition and does it in clutch moments.   Hell, Tyreek Hill beats women and teams don’t care.  Not saying it’s right, but the Colts got a damn steal at 52.  Dude is a physical mismatch and has elite hands.

Let's be careful about lauding Sarkisian towards rare air when it comes to all of this. He's not alone and he's not supplying the cash. The fact that Texas decided it was important to give a mediocre former walk-on who comes from money and was happy to play for free a big fat stack in this cycle should cause everyone to pause in a big way before going in this direction.

Yes, I get it.  He's not perfect.  What I meant was that it's refreshing to see a coach actually do his best to win a championship and run this program based on meritocracy.

And, maybe this was their way of rewarding him in getting Arch on campus.... kidding obviously.

  3. Charlie went tried this tactic and we had about 15 players leave that season.  I remember reading and celebrating the purge at the time.  Aggy is in for a rude awakening.  Luckily with NIL, it's easier to turn over a roster with talent.  But they are bringing in bread.  They are going to SUUUUUUCK and this will be a 4-5 year rebuild for them to get this program competitive.  They will never see it though because they will fire Elko after 3 years and the next coach will repeat the process.

According to Bobby this sounds like a decent player wanted star NIL money and Sark said no. Perhaps Sark said "No, that money is slotted for Tacario Davis". Welcome to the new world of college football

I'm fucking happy Sark is our coach.  If a player is going to demand high dollar, well you better play like it or it'll get spent on someone that is worth the money.  Under Mack, I imagine NIL would be handed out like orange slices to seniors.  The more you've bled for the program, the more NIL.

  5. Brooks has gotten burned repeatedly and busting coverages even in the spring game.  Ohio State thought he was safety and it's making sense now.  If we are getting the Arizona CB, that should be an upgrade.

    CB-  Manny

    CB-  Davis (potential transfer)

    S-  Mukuba

    S-  Williams

    Nickel-  Barron/Gillbeau

    Rotational players-  Holmes, McDonald, Taafe.

Mukuba can play star and Barron can play CB.  This should be a solid DB group with good cover skills if the coaches can fucking do their job and teach them proper technique.  Rod Babers almost loses his shit when he talks about the poor technique that is being taught.  He talks about how our DBs don't play inside/outside leverage properly and these are simple things that should be taught.

Sark is getting the QB ducks lined up perfectly.  RS, then backup, then compete/start for at least 2 seasons.

Right this moment, I’d be concerned what going on in the head of the commit from Alabama …

Gerry and Bobby have stated before that Arch wants to start 2 years at Texas and even 3 years isn’t out of the question.  I personally highly doubt he stays in college 5 years but they have mentioned plenty of times that his family is in no rush for him to get to the NFL and want him to enjoy college and develop.

  7. You’re seeing the difference between a guy that has nfl level footwork and mechanics that has been coached up by his hall of fame uncles versus a guy that relied on his elite arm talent and never really developed his footwork and pocket presence.  Quinn’s experience has given him an edge this year which hold a lot of weight, but you’re not the only one wondering why our starting QB still looks uncomfortable in the pocket 3 years in.

  8. Recap from video content this week.  So I imagine we’re going to see our TE commit get processed like the previous LB.  Gerry keeps mentioning Nick Townsend as freak athlete and #1 on the Texas TE board right now and then taking Armstrong as a big body inline TE.

Also sounds like staff is pushing or the RB out of Louisiana, Simmons?, and he may shut it down this weekend.  LSU just took their 2nd RB so I imagine he is trying to lock a spot up at Texas before we fill up.

OL board realistically we would take consists of Fasusi, Rogers, Coleman twins, Jackson, and the John Mills kid.

Not sure if Dakorian Moore gave a silent but since his visit, all the 9.95ers have predicted Texas.  His mom went to high school in Austin and apparently he has lots of family on ATX.  This one makes too much sense considering he also has a lot of friends on the Texas team.

  9. You guys really over think this sometimes.  Sark sends out Banks and Baxter on offense after sending out Quinn.  Baxter is going to be the starter and he’s going to be damn good too.  Dude played injured last year and it was pretty clear he needed a year to go muscle up a bit.  Staff thinks he’s an elite talent, that should tell you all you need to know.

Blue has big time fumble issues and doesn’t run well between the tackles.  That’s been his issue his entire time here.  I imagine he’s worked on those weaknesses and Sark knows how to utilize his strengths.  I think you’re going to very much see Sark use these two like he used Reggie and  Lendale when he was at USC.  Not saying they will be that talent level but he’s going to pound it with Baxter and the big plays will come from Blue.

Also, I’ll say it again.  Sounds like Wingo is on the fast track to start this year.  The 9.95ers and the recruits now have all mentioned him first when asked about the most impressive WR.  He’s an absolute mismatch for DBs.  Can’t wait to see him play in the spring game after hearing about all these reports.

  10. They have hinted multiple times it is one of the DTs at Michigan.  Bobby in one of the OTF videos was addressing the Michigan fans that their alumni/donors, much like the the Bama ones, were used to the Harbaugh discount.  Now that he is gone, they will need to pony up more money to keep these guys and he said “it may be too late”.  They have also multiple times reference that the DT followed Sark, Ewers, and company only to quickly unfollow them when it was pretty obvious what was happening.  Gerry mentioned that if the specific DT went into the portal with a no communication choice, then this was a done deal.  If not, get ready for a bidding war.

  11. Another vote for 3 body problem.

    Spoiler

I just finished episode 6.  Holy shit on the ship scene.  I’ve got an 18 month old that wears converse shoes and seeing the toddlers leg in the rubble with the red converse fucking killed me.

Wingo starting game one ahead of Golden is certainly a take.

Also, Bolden caught 54 passes for 746 yards and 5 TDs last year. He didn't come here to be Casey Cain.

Well when the dude is getting compared to Roy Williams by people that are viewing practices in person, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start day 1.  Baxter started day one as well, Sark isn’t shy of playing freshman.  Golden had 400 yards receiving last year, I don’t think he’s got a starting spot locked down like Bond.  I’m looking forward to seeing Bolden but yeah, I don’t think Sark is throwing a 5’8 165 lb dude out there starting at WR against the big physical DBs Michigan has.

  13. A couple of things I’ve picked up and pieced together listening to Gerry and Bobby.  All of this is me speculating.  Looks like Sark has known about Lacy from his stint at Bama and I believe knows his QB trainer quite well out in Bamaland.  Lacy has previously mentioned that Sark started building that relationship with him early on while he was still in middle school.  It seems to me that Lacy took a step back when Quinn decided to come back as it delayed his path to the field by another year.  Coming off a playoff appearance and a who’s who list of recruits visiting, Sark probably didn’t like the idea that his QB commit was visiting other schools multiple times.  Lacy is good but he’s not Arch or Quinn so that shit probably won’t fly too long.  Couple of things Gerry hinted were that Saban is gone and DeBoer is bringing his own frosh QB from Washington so Lacy would need to sit at Bama just as long.  What’s stopping Auburn or Kiffin from taking a transfer after he commits, he’s not guaranteed playing time there either and both coaches would take an experienced transfer QB in a second.  I imagine he’s realizing the sales pitch from the other coaches doesn’t exactly clear his path any better with regards to playing time.  I imagine Sark recruiting the Duncanville kid is probably a combination of putting pressure on Lacy to shut this shit down before summer visits or we’ll pass, to maintain a plan B, and/or perhaps a kid they think may be better in Russell.  Regardless, Texas is in a position to cherry pick prospects right now.

  14. This team is hard to watch.  Every time I’ve tuned in this year 9-10 times (most of the bigger games), we have sucked it up.  Tennessee is making a lot of mistakes yet Texas finds a way to fuck it up worse.  This team picked a terrible time to have a season scoring drought.  Also, Tyrese Hunter has gotten progressively worse every year, I didn’t think that was possible.
