  1. Based on the numerous videos Gerry does, seems like the WR priorities are Lockett, Moore, Johnson, and Ffrench.  Everyone else seems to be plan B.   We seem to be a in a good spot for Lockett and Johnson.  Let’s see about the other two.  I imagine those will be big time NIL recruitments till signing day like Ryan Wingo.

Texas is joining tOSU, Bama and UGA as having the nation’s best rosters.

Joining?  We have a better roster than anyone outside UGA and they scared, listen to Kirby’s comments.  What school right now has two 5 star #1 QBs?  Texas has perhaps 4-5 NFL high right players on the OL right now not to mention a lot of skill talent.  Defense may take a step back but the roster  isn’t lacking for talent.

Sark has always been an elite recruiter and with NIL to our advantage, we may be the most dangerous program in the future.  Not being in the SEC and not playing the bag game hurt Texas more than anything else.  Those two issues are resolved and we have a hungry coach that has learned from maybe the 2 best college coaches of all time.  Our decade of suffering has come to an end my friends.  Enjoy these next few years.

I exchanged some messages with Cy-Fair defensive tackle Landon Rink today asking if he had any plans to visit Texas this spring. His response ...

"I will not be going there as of right now because they are not one of my top schools currently."

Rink said he'll let me know if anything changes so the door isn't completely shut, but this one is obviously trending away from UT.

Texas wants more length and size.  Two things Rink lacks.  We are not a top school because we are not recruiting him very hard.

Yup. I've gotten to the point that I don't care much about WR recruiting. WR is the new running back.

It doesn’t make sense to pay top dollar to high school recruits when we can get NFL prospects in the portal every year that are plug and play.  Especially in Sark’s system where he requires a lot from the receivers.

Seriously though, LSU is putting together a monster class. They think Kelly is the guy so they’re going all in. I think Moore will be a really hard pull.

This is a NiL recruitment.  The timing of Moore picking LSU out of the blue right as Simmons picked Texas wasn’t a coincidence.  Moore likely visits Texas and it’s probably going to come down to which school will give him more money.  Moore has a lot of close friends at Texas.  I imagine they will let this play out and make a push in the fall for a flip.  You normally do not want to be the first school a player commits to early on as they don’t last.

  6. Choice is a witch and he will get his money.  With that said, Sark is heavily involved with skill talent recruitments.  Most of those guys come to Texas to play for Sark and his offense.  It’s refreshing to see Texas land elite skill talent again.  Prior to Sark, it got to a point that we were losing skill talent to the likes of TCU and Baylor.

  7. Ethan is going to play in the pros, not sure if he's a first round talent yet.  He has the frame, the length, the motor, and the quickness to be high round draft pick.  Texas lists him at 257.  If he can get to 270, the dude is going to be projected high.  This was his first year starting and he made some big plays against some good teams.  Hell I remember him abusing the Bama OL multiple times.  What a great evaluation by the staff.  Dude was heading to Michigan before the Texas offer so that should tell you what Harbaugh thought about him.

  8. Bobby did mentioned that apparently Bo had told the recruits that he was staying at Texas.  J cannot they will be too happy to be lied to as well.  Robinson was 1 foot out the door his whole recruitment so I would be shocked if he didn’t end up at Florida or LSU.  I do think January stays in the class.  I’m sure he’s pissed but I also don’t think he’s going to follow a coach that lied to him.

  9. With a 12 team playoff and NiL, there is no reason to change school.  Oregon and Washington are in the BIG 10.  Have money, can recruit, and at least Seattle is not bumfuck Alabama.  Oregon maybe.  Also, no one with current success is taking that job.  It is a guarantee they will be fired bc those red necks have gotten used to Saban winning at an unprecedented level in an era where they cheated their asses off.  There is a reason Saban called it quits.  He knows he can’t win at that level anymore given the advantages he had are gone.  Even if the next coach wins 9-10 games, that fan base is so delusional with their expectations.

Almost all of the physician loan programs not originated by depository banks have gone away and those that remain have been crippled (in other words, there’s a lot less competition or diversity of options for physicians than two years ago).

The only real question you should be asking is if a physician loan is necessary-if you have the ability to qualify otherwise you can likely get the cost of financing below those terms.  If you need the 100% financing then it’s probably your only option.

I’ve got a conventional loan at 6.75% offer as well from the same bank.  The house we are looking at will be renovated hence why I was entertaining the physicians loan.  Use the cash to renovate instead of down payment.  Loan officer is telling me that he’s expecting rates to drop end of the year.  If we renovate the way we’d  like,  home value should go up 400-500k easily.  He’s saying we should have no problem refinancing  as we would have built in equity.  Any feedback?

I thought he did pretty well for us at CB this year tbh. UW beat him with some insane throws/catches but Watts was a starter all year for a reason. Not sure why we'd show him the door at CB unless he wants too much money.

I’m guessing Malik Muhammad has passed him up at CB and so has Brooks.

After all the shit we've had to endure with the qb room over the last decade, I can't believe we're turning our nose up at bringing back an experienced starter that will be a top 10 qb in the country next year at minimum all because of some vague notion of timing.

Especially after we just got our asses kicked by a qb that has been in college since Sam Ehlinger was a true sophomore.

Not saying I want Quinn to hang around for 7 years; but I'll take bringing an experienced qb into the SEC.

Exactly how good are y'all expecting Arch to be at this point in his career?

Well, there is a history of #1 5 star QBs that are generally pretty good in their 1st or 2nd year.  Bryce Young, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Caleb Williams, Tua Taguoviola to name a few of the more recent ones that helped their teams compete in the CFP.  If you got that level of quarterback play, would you sit that player for a guy that is a very good QB but not a great one yet?  We are all assuming here, but Arch isn't some 3 star QB coming out of high school.  Let's let these boys compete.  Fun to have a talented QB room.  Hurts was benched for Tua.  Rattler was benched for Williams.  It's not uncommon for the back up to be better especially when they are 5 star recruits.  Hell Justin Fields was backing up Jake Fromm and I think anyone thinks Fromm was the better QB there.  Either way, this is all speculation but I really like Arch's skill set.

The problem for Michigan is that they're facing a damned near total rebuild of their starting 22. If McCarthy declares, and I assume he will, they have like 4 returning starters, total. Paying big for a TB transfer wouldn't make a bunch of sense if that is the case. I think FSU is in a similar place.

And they will likely have a new HC...

This is the part I don't get. How do you know this? From his 2/5 passing performance? It's dream-casting.

From what every scout, reporter, and coach have said.  It's not a stretch to say Arch has better footwork and mechanics and if fact it's true.  Watch the few reps of Arch, how he escapes the pocket while maintaining his body, his sense of pressure and find me 1 clip of Quinin in his 2 years here that shows that.  Quinn's elite trait is that he can make every throw in every arm angle with short and intermediate throws.  His weaknesses are his footwork and his ability to go through progressions.  His deep ball is also very questionable.  Also keep in mind, Quinn has now been in college 3 years.  Arch has had 3 NFL hall of famers coach him up his whole life.  There is a reason Quinn is coming back and it's because he wouldn't even go in the top 5 QBs in this draft.  He's talented but he has a lot of room to improve.  I'm excited he's coming back but I also want what's best for Texas.  I fully expect Quinn to start as Sark likes experienced QBs.  I also think Texas will be a much better offense and lethal when Arch is running Sark's RPO here.

He doesn't have to a top five draft pick to be more than "appreciated." He's the baddest ass QB we've had here in ages and you want the back up.

When did I say I want the backup? I said I hope Sark starts the guy that gives us the best chance to win.  Quinn has a good arm but he struggles a lot with other aspects of being a QB.  He self sacks himself constantly, struggles with progressions and his foot work leaves more to be desired.   I’ll be happy as hell if he comes back.  Also, Quinn has 3 NFL WRs he’s throwing to, with NFL TE, and multiple NFL OL.  Let’s not confuse being a badass with giving your play makers the ball and letting them work their magic in space.  When Quinn takes over a game and wins it for us like Penix just did, let’s come back and talk again.  With that said, Arch is a better fit for what we want to run.  He’s ahead of Quinn with his mechanics, arm strength, pocket presence and release.  He lacks game reps.  Both fantastic quarterbacks, I just think 1 has better tools.  If by the time spring practice ends, and he is better… then Arch should start.  If not, Quinn should.  That’s all I was saying.

100% agree with this. Can't imagine it's a money issue unless they liquidated a children's hospital for this contract. Can never really fault a guy for going back to his alma mater/first coaching stop but I think this would be a decent blow to our DL recruiting. BD's development has been nothing short of spectacular the past two years.

Offer him 1.5 mil and the Co-DC title here.  Money shouldn't be a problem for Texas with selling out season tickets for the foreseeable future

  17. Appreciate Quinn at Texas.  Dude improved a ton this year.  But watching Penix and then watching Quinn, it's night and day.  1 dude was THE man and made plays for his team meanwhile Quinn more so manages the game and plays within in the offense.  He's just a bit more robotic, has poor pocket presence, poor footwork and is okay in his progressions.  Quinn has had crazy unrealistic expectations put on him due to his 1.0 ranking coming out of high school but he was also waaaaay over-rated coming out.  Dude probably should have been a high 4 star.  We're in a lucky spot if he comes back because he has shown we can make the CFP with him and be competitive with him.  With all that said, I think Arch has a better arm, better pocket feel, is more athletic, and will be much better with progressions with game reps.  I hope Sark starts the best guy after spring practice regardless of who it is.

It’s not “copium” when it is discussed ahead of the guy ever making a commitment decision at a time when the $9.95ers were telling us that Texas leads. That “word” is dorky social media shit in the first place and you didn’t even use it here correctly when you felt the need to insert it.

Anyone can play well for a weekend. The list of camp heroes who don’t love football who then flameout in college is long.

Allegedly, Bo Davis was never high on the recruit. The mother admonished him about his rant on the bus at ISU that helped save Sarkisian’s regime and asked if that was going to be the attitude in which Davis managed her sweet boy while at practice. She’s in education and had her son stay back and not graduate early so he could have a full final year with mommy. He didn’t destroy opponents during his senior year.

If the guy winds up crushing it at LSU and having a big NFL career, you and a bunch of posters who never post shit on the recruiting board until they can tell us we were wrong and meanies for being wrong can come on here and tell us as much.

If the guy winds up at Texas, I stand by my view. I expect him to be somewhere between a bust and an average college DT wherever he winds up. That isn’t worth a 5 star ranking or any NIL.

She sounds like a helicopter mom.  Crazy to think how Coburn, Sweat etc have talk about how Bo has changed their lives and how he’s made them love football…. Only for her to send her kid to a coach that killed a kid and a con artist in Jimbo.  She sounds like a moron…

  19. Props to the team for fighting till the end in a game where nothing was going our way.  Sark called some great plays and some wtf ones.  I feel like we would have run some better stuff to at least give us a chance to make a play on the ball.  This season was 1 play away from playing in the national championship.  We will build on this.  The culture is in place now.  We’re out of the dumps fellas.  Enjoy the ride and Hook ‘em.
