  1. Broughton likely comes back I imagine.  He’s played well this year and he gets another year with Bo and another year to get stronger.  Either way, I expect Jaray Bledsoe to be a starter next year and we’ll likely see Tapp, Burke, Sorrell get another year of strength and conditioning and development.  If Mitchell can take another step, this D-Line will be very good next year with Collin Simmons joining in as Edge.

Oregon has no wins over currently ranked wins

Texas needs to be pumping that stat - we have 2 wins over a top 10 team and a top 20 team

Texas needs to mudstomp tech in this scenario since it will be the only common opponent.  There’s an argument to be made there along with a much better resume.  Oregon has been “passing the eye test”.  Yeah… Colorado and Utah aren’t what we thought they were in those early season games.  They haven’t had a single good win on a ranked opponent.

  3. I don’t understand the head to head argument.  They’ve had plenty of chances to put Bama ahead of us and haven’t.  Clearly it means enough that Bama is still behind us.  If Bama wins out, they should be in the CFP as the SEC champ and it will only make our win look better.  This is the committee’s worst fear bc then they have to justify leaving a potential conference champion in Texas with a last second loss in a rivalry game against a ranked opponent that had an impressive double digit win on the road against another CFP team.  In this scenario, we’re in if FSU or Washington lose and UGA loses too.  I don’t think they put 1 loss Oregon ahead of 1 loss Texas when it comes down to it and you look at who each team beat.  Oregon’s SOS is bad and their big win against Utah doesn’t look so good.

Either way, the best scenario is for FSU to lose and that may be more likely than we think.

The brooks injury really killed my excitement of making the CFP. We can beat tech and win the ccg without him but I’m not sure we can in the CFP matchups. I would love to be wrong. And yes Baxter had a good game yesterday but he’s not brooks.

Hey you guys remember that game against #3 Bama on the road… I wonder who started that game at RB?

Just because Baxter was injured most of this season doesn’t mean he can’t carry the rock.  He beat out Brooks in camp.  We’ll be fine running the ball.

  5. You guys are listening to this bullshit narrative from the media.  We’re likely the #2 or #3 as far as talent goes.  We’ve dealt with a ton of injuries and generally play to the level of our competition but lets not downplay how good this team is.  Which offense besides UGA and Michigan are going to run the ball on us?  Bama hasn’t been able to run on us in our last 2 matchups.  We’re bigger than most teams on both sides of the lines and we may have the best skill talent in the country outside of Ohio state WRs.  Those teams have to play us too.  Oh yeah, our QB can be lethal if he’s have a good day.  Let’s win out and see where this goes but I’d take Texas against Oregon, FSU, Bama and tOSU.  Only teams I’d be worried about are Washington, Michigan and Georgia.  Georgia and Michigan can match us with size on the lines and Washington would tear our secondary apart.  With that said, we can beat any team when we play our A game.

  6. Sark knows what he is doing.  Trey has high potential and can sit and learn.  He’s a big dude and has a frame that can put on weight and had a nice deep ball.  Dude seems to be willing to sit and compete when the time comes.  You need guys like him in a good QB room.  He could probably commit to a number of P5 programs and be the main guy.

  7. There's a very good chance 5-6 QBs would get taken ahead of Quinn this year.  The dude has always thought he was going in the 1st round if not the very first pick but his collegiate career hasn't exactly matched his lofty rankings.  It's probably best for him and Texas if he comes back considering Brooks is very likely to be back as well.  He's likely a top 3 QB in the draft next year if not the top QB if he can continue to improve and stay healthy.

Bobby and Gerry have both said that Arch is well aware Quinn may be back and they came to Texas to make sure Arch is prepared for the NFL, not so he can start on a certain year.  With that said, Bobby and Gerry have both said that 4 people in the last 2 weeks have said Arch is a freak and the real deal.  If he's the best QB on campus next year, it's going to get very interesting.

I doubt Worthy is the only pure mercenary on our team and it behooves the Aggies to tempt whoever isn't a starter or just wants to get a better deal out of our NIL.

This one doesn't require that much imagination, but let's say Dan Lanning comes in and wants to build his defense around Hicks.  Hicks doesn't want to go, really, but Lanning has the institutional support to offer $250K in "NIL" money and that's a big bag.  I'd presume we'll match but maybe we'd have only paid Hicks $100K otherwise.  That $150K additional isn't there now for Bryce Anderson or whoever.

If I was A&M I'm making very clear to the Texas players that the bank is open just to see who appears interested.

That money has to come from somewhere.  Aggy doesn't have an unlimited fund of NiL like you are assuming.  They have their own roster they will need to keep as teams will be hovering like vultures.  Their boosters are already funding that 2022 #1 class, money into the athletic department and funding their current recruiting class.

I mean, Bama vs Middle Tennessee and USF should have alerted everyone that the Bama win at the time was half gold and half fools gold. To give Bama credit, they've actually gotten better week over week against quality opponents whereas we seem to have stagnated (including an injury to our QB, fair or unfair). I think the one game that Bama played like crap past the early season was the arky game because arky suuuuucks.

Bama is definitely improved.  But that game wasn't miracle on ice.  We were bigger and controlled the LOS.  That won't change if there is a rematch.  Bama still has youth on the OL and a QB that can be made 1 dimensional if we can stop the run.  The worst thing Bama can face is a team that is as big and better on the lines and a team that can score and go up.  Force Milroe to throw and you end up seeing Bama struggle.  The look great now but that has more to do with their opponents and match ups.  Let's see how they match up against UGA.  We are also injury ridden and playing our back up QB.  I'd take Texas in that matchup any day as long as our starters are healthy.

  10. People complain when Sark rotates guys with early leads.  Then people complain when Sark keeps the starters in to close the game out.  Sark had nothing to do with that injury.  Brooks was getting big runs and we were trying to kill the clock.  I think it was a 13 point game at that point.

If that’s how they feel about Davis things must be positive on the Xavier Filsaime

I have no idea but I know a few weeks back Bobby had implied that it Davis better make sure he has a good senior year as Texas is evaluating other safeties.  Maybe his senior doesn’t look great? No idea.  Plus I’m sure Texas feels they can get impact players in the portal.

Gerry mentioned that Blake Ivy tried reaching back out to the Texas staff but he doesn’t think it’s going anywhere. He had a shoulder injury this year.

Looks like Myles Davis and Ivey have tried to get back with Texas but we don’t seem interested in either.   Smith seems to be the only recruit we want but he seems set on aggy regardless if it’s Jimbo or a jizz jar as their coach.  Not sure about Bussey as we never quite pushed for him to begin with.  You’d have to bet Texas will try to get Bryce Anderson or Jacoby Matthews to portal with our safety needs.

Which game would you say he's been elite this year?

I think he’s called the game pretty well through the whole season.  I think he’s mismanaged the clock a few times and should have kicked a FG a few times.  I think the team has lacked execution more than bad play calling and I’m also factoring in we had a back up QB for two games.  We are ranked #14 in total offense.  Who would like us to replace Sark with that is better?  For reference, level of OCs Texas has attracted have been Mike Yurcich, Tim Beck, Shawn Watson, Sterling Gilbert, Major Applewhite…. That’s our history with OCs.  You think we should replace our current OC who has been hired by Pete Carrol, Nick Saban, and was offered jobs in the NFL to call plays and run his offense.  The same guy that has put 8 QBs in the NFL and  and has been the only person to help a WR win the Heisman in recent memory.  Same dude the Manning’s sent their son to play for.  Please tell me who you would like to hire to call plays to replace Sark that will improve our offense?

I think Sark has flaws like every head coach but let’s not get stupid here.
