  1. I think it is that simple. Connor lived with his mother who had a mental breakdown and was institutionalized. He was never close to Logan and is pretty much seen as the dim bulb by the whole family.

  2. A Sixers autopsy is impossible. As I've said before, The Process totally worked in terms of getting them the picks and financial flexibility to build a champion. But they botched so many of those decisions, some of which was forced on them by the NBA installing an incompetent Colangelo for a while. No one thought Simmons or Fultz would be such disasters, OTOH everyone called Jah Okafor a reach and trading Mikal Bridges insanity.

Ownership and the front office (even Sam Hinkie) are crypto/metaverse believers and the franchise is a good metaphor -- shiny objects and lots of promises, but ultimately no better results than anyone else.

just heard these stats from nba mvp joel embiid in the 4Q last night:

played 9 min, 23 seconds. scored two points on 1-6 shooting. was blocked by al horford three times. he does this on the same day that jokic goes for 53 and 11 assists on a 67/50/85 slash line. so many peoples pimped embiid so hard this year, and he won the mvp in a landslide, only for him to quickly remind everyone that he is not on nikola jokic's level.

Man, I wish Embiid was facing Phoenix in a series and not Boston. But I stay out of the MVP arguments, I actually think it's fine that they spread it around among the 5-6 guys who are clearly in their own category of dominance. It's not as random as the Heisman, but it's still pretty impossible to get it "right".

This show is in the S tier of shows it does it purely with dialogue no action, murder, science fiction, etc. Just great writing. As said above best show on television and it’s not close.

Have we even seen a gun in three seasons of this show? Wish other producers would take note but not holding my breath

How fucked is this? Reading these I was somehow surprised to see my own high school in one of those tweets. I sent to have forgotten that there was a mass shooting event there TWO MONTHS AGO. I guess it got drown out by all the other mass shooting event since then.

Some journalist I trust tweeted that the Cruz "lift up in prayer" tweets are not real

  6. To follow up, M83 was a fine show (90 minutes) with no sign of illness for Gonzalez. He didn't make much audience talk, but I've never seen them so maybe that's just his nature.

Also, Tuesday (4/25) at Parish in Austin is Black Belt Eagle Scout, a band I've mentioned before though Surly might not exactly be the audience. Indigenous female led folk/rock. Lots of catchy riffs at the live show.

M83 at Stubb's was cancelled last night.  Band came on a little after 9:00.  Played instrumental intro song, Anthony Gonzalez then came out, sang one line on the second song, suddenly unstrapped his guitar and set it on the ground, and walked off stage.  The band continued the instrumental part of the second song, then walked off themselves.  I was standing near the sound board, watching the sound engineer, who seemed to be in a panic, so I figured there were sound problems.  About 20 minutes later, someone walked on stage and said show was cancelled due to bandmember illness.  It was a pretty strange string of events.  All the concerts I've been to over the years, I don't think I've ever seen anything like that.  Disappointed the show didn't happen as I was really looking forward to a fun Friday night show from a favorite band, but certainly hope Anthony Gonzalez is OK.

Yikes, I have tickets this Friday in Philadelphia. It looks like they played Houston without incident last night, but no explanation of what happened in Austin.

Kinda had to know this was coming at some point this season, but that was absolutely gripping television.

Yeah, it's rare for such a scrutinized show to pull off a surprise like that. And throughout the ep and into next week, we still have no idea what anyone is going to do.

  9. Phillies check in. I'm always a pessimist at the beginning, expecting injuries to cause the bottom to fall out. We already have major injuries (Harper, Hoskins, Ranger Suarez, Andrew Painter) so at least there's been some time to prepare. Some unheralded guys need to break out, at least for a few weeks at a time.

NL East is so tough at the top. Braves should win it basically wire to wire. I think the Mets are a bit overrated (gasp) and won't wreck shop like last season.

  10. The new three-part Netflix doc "American Apocalypse" doesn't add significant new info, but definitely some new footage both inside and outside the compound. Plus very helpful 3D animation of the battles...I always had a hard time figuring out who was where based on the 90s quality footage.

  11. Just dropping in to opine the Big City Green live animation of NYR-WAS on Disney Channel is hilarious. Unlike the NFL/Nick project, this contains zero actual footage from the game, but the puck and players are tracked exactly by location. Big yellow ape is in net for WAS, and a grandmother at goalie for NYR. Other little side attractions too.

Based on a few minutes, this is way more entertaining than casually having a game on you don't care much about
