  1. Lee (34), Booker (33) and Harmon (27) actually got to sit some, but not as much as I'd like.  Shoutout to Prenter (16) and Graves (15) for some run, but I would have been happier if each of them were closer to 20/22 minutes, considering we were up 50+ the entire 2nd half.

Even without our backup PF (Sidberry), Carlton still only played 29 minutes.

A better split between Cunningham (20) and Oldacre (26) would have been nice, but Breya had 4 fouls.

For the love of God, somebody, anybody, come back by Sunday.

Our incoming transfers have been AAs too so it’s just high talent moving around looking for fit and probably money.

We aren’t so high and mighty about it though

We only bemoan the portal use by JE when it doesn’t work out - Carlson mostly, but also Wenaas. We’ve also lost players, such as Sun, Parra, Singletary. Works both ways

Texas fans fully embrace what Skinner, Fleck, SKT, Barnes and Stafford have meant to us. Throw in Bergmark and Gary too

Texas fans expectations have always been make conference championship game and hopefully win. They have also expected Texas somewhere in or very close to top 10.

Failing that has always created consternation among Texas fans and they aren't alone. Michigan, Bama, OSU, ND, OU etc etc etc all expected that prior to the CFP. When they didn't yes, there was lots of frustration and anger.

Meeting those expectations would get a Texas or any of the other teams in the CFP, just ask Bama. However, now, rather than 1 or 2 bowl games that determine "the best team" with 90% subjective criteria of mediots the teams actually get to play it out.

People love to bemoan the CFP, the committee and yearn for yesteryear. Well, the world hasn't changed THAT much, just the voters have much less on final say on the national champion than the actual teams.

    That's a good thing.

I’m well aware of Texas fans’ expectations. And many of us had our hopes up we’d sneak in and make the playoffs but we didn’t

There should be some nuance here - everything kept going wrong for us - Arch needed 4-5 weeks to get comfortable, our OL/run game wasn’t good, we had injuries at bad times. We still finish 9-3, beat all our rivals and are going to the highest tier non-CFP bowl

BUT - We can still have fun and enjoy the bowl ride. And then hop into the expectations coaster again in August.

    I give a shit!

But only because the Pop Tart Bowl and Cheezit Bowl are good fun. It has that minor league baseball charm going for it. And Texas is playing.

Everything doesn't have to be so meaningful and serious all the time. We can just have a fun football game.

Football used to be fun and now it’s playoffs or this year was a miserable failure, fire everyone, any player who didn’t play perfect should fuck off and die.

  5.

For all the people who bitch about Elliot and the portal over the years -

Nebraska, Kansas, Louisville, Minnesota, Cal Poly, Texas, Stanford are in the Regional Semifinals on the backs of recruited and developed talent - 6/7 or 7/7 starters started at the school.

    Aggy 4/7 transfers
SMU 5/7 (Sam Erger is the portal queen)
ASU 7/7 (JJ Van Viel is the portal king)
    Wisky 4/7

It's actually wild to see Purdue in the Sweet 16 with 4 of their formers player on other Sweet 16 rosters

But also, how sad that it took this long for ADs to realize or care that ND has always had a preferential seat at the table, mostly on the backs of playing a bunch of B1G/ACC teams.

After the new facility opens, hopefully once or twice per year we still host a "Gregory" game.

More likely to host a Moody game, than a Gregory game, after we leave.  Too much hassle to move our court back into Gregory.  We taking it with us, I imagine.

Rec Sports has been a good enough host and partner, but JE wants full control.

“Mini-Moody” is catchy, but I’d prefer not to add another venue in this city with Moody in the name. Let’s get someone new to pony up for naming rights.

Mini-Moody has always just been the nickname.  CDC basically called it that when he first pitched it so fans and donors as an idea of what he was envisioning for our back to back champs - a more intimate version of Moody Center (~6k or so capacity for VB)
