  1. I'm not going to hate on the Oldacre pickup too much, because Vic did some really good work with Lauren Ebo.  She's not going to start this year, but could be our starting big in 2025-26

Ebo year 1 playing behind Charli Collier: 17.7 mpg (1 start), 4.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 0.2 apg, 02. spg, 0.4 bpg, 45.8% FG, 62.5% FT
Ebo year 2 as the starting big: 26.5 mpg (30 starts), 8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 0.6 apg, 0.6 spg, 0.8 bpg, 48.1% FG, 66.1% FT

Some of these big girls need time to just develop their skills besides being tall humans - Ebo was really good by the time she finished her career at ND (9 and 7, 1 assist and 1 block per game, 50% FG, 74% FT)

Amina’s transfer only made sense if it was because she wanted to start. She went somewhere she’s definitely going to start.

I think her transfer was quite obviously "I want to start"

Texas was bringing Jones and Moore back, with Carlton coming in.  It was pretty obvious Texas was going to dip into the portal for 1-2 bigs, and the way Vic raves about Carlton, that she was going to play a lot.

She had decent improvements in some areas with her minutes increasing from 18.6 to 19.5 this year (3.9 ppg to 6.1 ppg, 0.7 steals per game to 0.8 steals per game, 1.5 TO per game to 1.1 TO per game, 48.4% FG to 52.6% FG and 44% FT to 57.6% FT)

But there are much better options in the portal than Amina. If we hit on any of the remaining 4s, we upgraded.  If we don't hit on Barker or Gardiner, I'm not sure we are going to come out ahead.

Like others, I feel good about Wisconsin becuase of the people in control of the state government and the new maps should galvanize voters, mostly D. But maybe I'm overly optimistic.

Plus the WI Dem chair is so legit.  Also a case where a pretty lackluster GOP Senate candidate may drag down the top of the ticket.

Those Palestinian supporters are really going to have something to protest once Trump doesn't even give a shit about giving aid to Gaza. Well, I guess until their families get deported when the Muslim ban returns and the deportations Trump has telegraphed start happening.

You mean when Gaza gets glassed into oblivion by Bibi and Trump would say "that's fine."

I honestly can’t think of much that is different from 2020 except for the emigration from California (largely red voters) to other already red states.

    Dobbs decision.

The suburban females are still pissed about it.  Any conservative/GOP spin doctor who tries to tell you "it doesn't matter in 2024" is lying to you

I know WV is an R pickup, but what's the other?

    Dems currently have a 51-49 majority (48 D, 3 independents)

    WV flips automatically.  50/50

Dems would need to win Arizona, Ohio, Montana to keep it 50/50.  Would have to flip TX/FL to get to 51.

We've also never had a back-to-back rematch before.  Unprecedented shit fo sho.

    That is not true

    Jefferson-Adams 1796 and 1800 (Adams wins round 1, Jefferson wins round 2)
Quincy Adams-Jackson 1824 and 1828 (with some others) (JAQ wins round 1, Jackson wins round 2)
Van Buren-Harrison 1836 and 1840 (Van Buren wins round 1, Harrison wins round 2)
    Cleveland-Harrison 1888 and 1892 (Harrison wins round 1, Cleveland wins round 2)
    McKinley-Bryan 1896 and 1900 (McKinley won both)
    Eisenhower-Stevenson 1952 and 1956 (Ike won both)

I was on a different forum where a guy was trying to argue that some on the left aren't going to vote for Biden because they blame him for Roe v Wade going away. Yes, it's his fault Trump appointed justices voted to repeal Roe. I decided it was time to not engage with that forum any longer.

Maxwell and May gave up 6 ER yesterday to UCF and looked mortal.  Hopefully we were taking notes on our day off.

And that offense hasn't looked all world:

    3 runs against Duke
    4 runs against Washington
    3 runs against McNeese
    4 runs against Iowa State
    1 run against Texas
    1 run against Texas
    4 runs against BYU
    2 runs against UCF

Kilfoyl needs to pitch against OU like she did against us

If Texas didn’t lose that laugher to Houston, they would control their own destiny

To be fair, if OU didn’t also implode against BYU in that one game, they’d be sitting in a much better position than they are today.

I’d rather be the team needing to sweep a shitty Tech team than needing to sweep a legit OKST team that has comparable pitching to Texas that shut you down already in 2 of 3 games

Yep. There is nothing that says he has to return if he hits X goal. If you want to move on, you move on. We moved on from Herman after a 7-3 season where we ended the year with a bowl win and ranked in the top 20.

I agree that the decision has likely been made one way or another and the only way that changes is some extreme outcome (lose out, win the whole damn thing, etc).

Same. CDC knows his decision already.

i've seen one thing: we've never had the same map twice in a row.

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe go fuck yourself?

Im not placing money on it bc betting on the American public is a stupid endeavor. It’s just been my prediction for almost a year and a half now

What you say on a state by state basis may very well be true. But you start multiplying probabilities and shit will change. Not a prediction of which state or which direction, just that change is inevitable.

I just haven’t seen much to prove that it won’t just be 2020 redux. That’s been my prediction since the midterms in 2022 decimated the “red wave” polling

I know it’s not how they operate but I really wish that the solicitor general would have used names instead of the position.

i think it would have been pretty awesome to hear the hypothetical of ‘Joe Biden ordering the killing of Justice Alito, Thomas, and Barrett’ to so to secure a democratically appointed majority on the Supreme Court.

I would love to hear Alito’s musings and straw man Fox Newsisms then.

Fox News: wow we have to increase funding and protection after Biden threatened SCOTUS justices via his SG. He’s completely gone full blown dictator
