  1. Major television market, huge student body, alumni spread out all over the country. It's like UCF and Notre Dame had a bastard child together. Full hearts, can't lose.
  2. So happy to be in the SEC. At the end of this, every other conference will probably be spread out all over the country in ham handed fashion.
  3. Makes sense. Try to speak what you want into reality. With the ACC, I guess we know shit is going down once we see a vote of confidence tweet from Wake Forest.
  4. Oregon State doesn't really have much of a choice, do they? I would figure they are way down on the invite list.
  5. Such a crazy thought to me. Wouldn't they be looking at over a decade of debt service just to break even?
  6. So the MWC's TV contract is through 2026. I wonder if they've been negotiating to see what kind of deal they can get with the PacScraps.
  7. Yeah, I am pretty skeptical of those numbers. Just taking a quick look at UNC's and NC State's followings - UNC has more on Twitter and 100k more on Instragram. While NC State has more on Facebook, given that neither team has 100k followers on Facebook, I'm not sure how they ended up with NC State ahead. Yeah. And Florida is in the top 5 in the nation for social engagement but somehow behind FSU? https://athleticdirectoru.com/articles/college-athletics-social-media-rankings/
  8. To be fair, the ACC and Pac appeared to actually have followed the guidelines of The Alliance™ the first time through, or at least didn't use those guidelines for a checklist of what rules to break like the B1G
  9. Given what we're seeing at Northwestern and the President's defense of "I didn't actually read the football report" or the AD's defense of "I didn't actually interview the baseball coach" this might not be just a PacX issue.
  10. If you thought LA to New Jersey was an exciting roadtrip, just wait for Orlando to Eugene.
  11. It's all relative. Colorado may have finished a very poor 61st place putting them next to last in that Pac but that puts them in the top half of the new Big 12.
  12. This isn't a new thing. Cal and Stanford have been in the AmEast for Field Hockey since 2015 since there are no west coast conferences for Field Hockey.

I would assume Louisville? He's trying to move closer to home as his mom is dealing with Cancer.

Well, he did a great job of talking for 30 minutes without really saying anything controversial or showing any emotion.

His buyout is 85% of whatever is left on his contract and his contract runs through 2028.

Good writeup overall about the toss up. Only thing, I'm not sure this year is an extension year for Napier. To me, you only really need to give a "vote of confidence" extension if they are under 4 years left. He's got an 85% guaranteed contract through 2008.

Ooh... I could see exactly how that would play out. Unreasonable expectations after beating Utah; Maybe sneaking into the 20s in the polls; not as high as last year. A little return to Earth after losing to Tennessee; fall out of polls If the UTn game is close, then they'd probably inch their way up to 15-20 ranking at 6-1 heading into the Cocktail with unreasonable hype by CBS to make the game look bigger than it will be. Double digit loss to UGA drops them to the edge of the rankings. Close loss to Arkansas at home bring a bunch of "hangover from UGA/UGA broke them articles" Loss to LSU expected. Probably depends on how bad it is. A win on the road @ Mizzou shows signs of some improvement Disappointing loss to FSU at the end that most people had convinced ourselves that we'd win. Probably a loss in the Gasparilla Bowl to some middle of the road ACC team where a couple key skill position players sit out in prep for the draft.
  19. Well, we're definitely a part of it. All three of their rivals are down right now (Florida, Auburn, Georgia Tech); Oklahoma was canceled because of realignment. They do have Tennessee on the road, but this is also a year that they only have 4 road games on the schedule so anyone else who might be able to sneak up on them (South Carolina, Ole Miss) has to come to Athens.

This season will be rough. There are really only 3 games that should definitely be lockdowns for wins. We need to go .500 with the 6 "home game/road toss up" group to get to 6 wins. Our strength is our running game but if Mertz can't effectively get the ball out there to the receivers, then everyone will just stack the box. No idea if he can do it. Napier is bringing the talent but the schedule will make it tough to show any true gains in the win/loss column. Give him FSU's schedule (sans UF) and I can put 6 games in the "Better be/should be category" and another three toss ups. But that's the truth of it. It won't get any easier in 2024 so we'll just have to judge him against that curve. Better be wins: McNeese Charlotte Should be wins: Vanderbilt We've got a fair shot because they are at home: Arkansas Tennessee FSU Should be toss ups but they are on the road: @ Kentucky @ Mizzou @ South Carolina Tough road games, much more than likely a loss: @ LSU @ Utah Almost assuredly a loss: vs. Georgia

I was just making fun of the typo in the graphic's headline.
  23. Does the Pac always do just a one day media event? I thought these things usually started on a Monday and lasted all week.
