Dude was a nut - another Hinckley or Jared Loughler (sp?).
Yeah, the insanely pro life guy and who was a member a radical evangelical church and who has a hit list of democrats, abortion providers, and abortion advocates was totally not motivated by any right politics. Nope, just random mental illness and nothing else to see.

Because unless you lived under a rock from 2015-2021 and again in 2023-24, you knew you were going to be severely targeted by the incoming administration?
Other countries aren’t targeted tax paying permanent residents like the U.S. Gestapo
I mean I get it, but that is a slight different question. Until 2016, there wasn't any reason for the guy to consider it. He had 40 years of it not mattering.

I don't know the ins-and-outs of this guy's life, but he's been a permanent resident since 1967 and hasn't applied for citizenship?
Why would he need to? You have plenty of ex-pats living in foreign countries as perm residents that aren't citizens. It isn't really that unusual.

@Laxtonto just posted in another thread. He still will not come back here and admit his mistake.

Getting the fuck out of dodge or preparing to do something? I'm assuming the former since I can't imagine an LCS doing anything particularly useful in an actual warzone.

Not unexpected but I had to shake my head at TexAgs thread on this. On their page 1 and 2, they're debating how that this tragedy is a result of the politician victims voting against some recent democrat bills related to protecting abortion rights in MN. (I have zero idea if this is accurate or not.)
It is partly right. One voted for the bill in the House. One voted against the bill in Senate. They must have had the same sources as @Laxtonto.

Both elected Democrats (one a former Speaker of the Minnesota House) voted with the Republicans to remove illegal immigrants from Minnesota Care this week (HF001). One was in the Minnesota House and the other in the Minnesota Senate. The Bill passed 68-65 in the Minnesota House and 37-30 in the Minnesota Senate.
Everyone I know in Minneapolis is going WTF...
On 6/14/2025 at 12:06 PM, Dahobbs said:Sigh. Can we not post political misinformation? One voted for the bill. Not both. The right wing account you're quoting has already corrected that statement.
On 6/14/2025 at 12:23 PM, Laxtonto said:No, they both voted. One in the their House and the other in their Senate. If you would like, go look it up here and here. That is directly from the Minnesota's .gov system. That was the reason I looked it up because it seemed too stupid to be to actually be believable...
This may end up being politically inconvenient for people, but if the local reports are correct, this is going to get much worse because the name being provided to local law enforcement is someone embedded in Minnesota state politics.
This whole thing is fucking wild. It has no real part in the the fabric of America and the whole thing is a travesty.
Minnesota has always been their own strain of weird politically, but for the most part has been fairly civil with their differences. If the name being circulated is the true, it makes no sense to me.

I used to joke with my wife, as I would embrace her and kiss. " Our boys need to know daddy loves their momma."
I was joking, as I was channeling my inner Gus McRae; but I also was not. Boys should know their dad loves their mom. It's important.
What goes on in other folks' house, I have no idea. A big part of today, Father's Day no less, and my relationship with my sons, is the example I set as a husband.

Can I ask where you're "hearing" or seeing these rumors? Mainly because I've not seen that anywhere, not talking shit.
Hopefully more reliable than the sources he relied upon in the Minnesota shooter thread.

Israel continues to strike targets in Iran. What's surprising is that we still see no evidence that Iran's air defense has offered any resistance. It is especially surprising since the initial strikes (and presumably the follow ups) didn't rely heavily on stand off munitions.

It's telling that they read the text to reporters; that sounds to me like a couple of guys in panic mode. Well, I'm generally skeptical of anyone over the age of 30 with roommates. I'm especially skeptical of 57 year old roommates.
Maybe @Laxtonto can tell us more about politically inconvenient truths while apologizing for his misstatement earlier.

Yes. Those that think the first page didn't age well are idiots. An anti abortion radical targeted democratic law makers, abortion providers, and abortion advocates. But sure, he must be a lefty because he wasn't kicked off a commission by Walz.

how did two F35's get shot down ?
mind you, israel flies an upgraded f35
They haven't been. At least no reliable sources have confirmed it. It is also unlikely because Israel has been operating its non stealth planes in Iranian airspace. Many of those were loaded out with fairly close range ground attack munitions like JDAMs. If Iran had downed an F35, you'd expect many more reports of downed 4th gen aircraft. We haven't seen that.

So apparently most of the Iron Dome components are made in the US. Makes sense. Seems like it would be the highest priority target for Iran if more of the manufacturing was in Israel.
Iron Dome is really good against rocket and mortar fire from Iranian proxies. It has shit all to do with defending against Iran's long range ballistic missiles.
