  1. I think we saw the start of Jon Lester's decline in '17, and unfortunately I think we're going to see more of it this season.  I hope he makes me eat crow, but there isn't much tread left on his tires.

  2. I hate to read too much into one game, but based on the decline we saw in '17 (drastic decline in WAR, WHIP jumped by .3, ERA climbed nearly two runs, BAA went up almost 50 points, etc.), I think Lester's shakiness today is something that we'll see repeated a fair amount in '18.  Dude's got nearly 2200 innings lifetime, and at some point, the wheels just start coming off.

I still want the Taco Bell enchirito to be around

You still may be able to get it.  It's been a while (prob. 6-8 months) since I was desperate enough to patronize a Taco Bell, but the last time I did, I asked if they still did enchiritos and was told yes.  It was "off the menu" but they were still making them . . . at least as of 6-8 months ago.

Van Halen For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge tour.  Incredible show, so much energy from the whole band.  And when Eddie is on, it goes to 11.

Rush R40 tour.  It was like going to Rush church.

Shit, I forgot about VH.  I'm not their biggest fan, but they put on a helluva good live show.  Saw them on the 1984 tour and it was terrific.

  5. Difficult to narrow it down to one . . .

Tom Petty -- Pack up the Plantation Tour

    Cheap Trick

The Wailers -- so much ganja in the air I got high just by walking into the venue

    Bruce Springsteen

    Paul McCartney

Good question - we're in the Miracle Mile/Mid-Wilshire area. But I've added Cassia to my list

You're not far from Koreatown -- tons of options there if you like Korean.

Republique on La Brea for French.

There are a couple Irish pubs on Fairfax within a few blocks of each other -- Molly Malone's and Tom Bergin's.  Can't vouch for the food at either place, but they're good for a pint or two.  I haven't been to Bergin's since it changed ownership, though.

Canter's Deli (farther north on Fairfax) is your classic Jewish deli with good sandwiches.

The McKenna is nice.  Also recently picked up some Old Grand-Dad 114.  At less than $20 a bottle is a very nice high-rye bourbon.

OGD 114 is terrific value at under $20.  I've seen a price spike out here taking it above $25 at my local place, so I haven't picked up any in a while.

  8. My first post on the new site must be on this topic.

Was drinking Larceny last night.  Tough to beat at under $25.

My local grocery store is closing, so they're selling everything off at 25% or more.  Still had some Henry McKenna BIB, so I picked up a couple at under $25.  The mashbill looks to be the same as Evan Williams Single Barrel, which I love, so I'm thinking the McKenna will be good as well.
