My gut tells me the record player will stop playing when I walk in... anyway, I would be there midweek.

It's really not a scary place, though they did have a shooting there last year.  But it's not a 1% hangout AFAIK.

And yes, there is plenty of hiking in the hills and mountains just east of Lake Forest.

Anything to do in Lake Forest?  Will be there on business... I see some nice hiking trails.

There's Cook's Corner at the intersection of Santiago Canyon and Live Oak Canyon, which isn't far from Lake Forest.  It's a biker bar, but not the 1% type -- mostly average people who just like to ride Harleys and other motorcycles.  It's a rustic bar/restaurant with a laid back atmosphere that can get crowded, esp. on weekends and very esp. on weekends when the sun is shining.  Not a bad place to hang out on a sunny SoCal afternoon and have a couple beers.  I would go on off hours and during the week if possible.

Man, the Bucs really blew it.  The synchronicity would have been off the charts.

  4. Don't recall hearing about attitude issues with AD, but I know I would sometimes get frustrated with his lack of effort blocking and his sometimes-lazy route running.  Dude certainly has NFL size, speed, and other traits, but there were also holes in his game.  Mid second round is about right.  Hope he does well in the League.

I have to laugh because it's Boone getting run.  OTOH, it's pretty alarming when Wendelstedt can say "I don't care who it was" and he knows there likely won't be any repercussions for him.

Vago’s producers haver very little smoke

Got a recommendation from that brand?  My local place often has several types of Vago in stock, but I have no clue which one offers the most bang for the buck.

I don’t claim to be an expert on mezcal, but I’ve been to Oaxaca, tried a a few varieties, did a distillery tour and partook of 2-4 varieties the following year in CDMX.

You might try Ilegal Joven.  It’s not aged so taste profile is a good segue from tequila into mezcal.  Stick with the espadín variety of agave and the lightly aged styles (Jovens) until you season your palate for a more complex variety.

I agree with @Herbie Hancock that Del Maguey can be a little medicinal.  I also agree with @texasdago that a post meal mezcal is awesome, and the more floral/herbal (medicinal) varieties are well suited in this situation IMO.

Ilegal Joven is literally the only bottle of mezcal I've ever purchased.  It's definitely smoky, but because I have never had any other mezcal, I cannot say whether it is more or less smoky than most other brands.

I don't dislike the Ilegal, but I have to be in a mood for something smoky in order to drink it.

I gotta go with Skynyrd's cover of Call Me The Breeze, but Get Out Of Denver is really, really good, too.
