They've got to think of a different nickname for Raleigh. "Big Dumper" just makes me think of dropping a deuce.

Yes, statements by Hugh Freeze about playing by the rules, esp. in recruiting, can be given 100% credit.

Guardians are just glitching out right now, down 3-0. AL Central is terribad.
But that's just abysmal baserunning by the Cubs. Two guys get picked off 1B back-to-back? When's the last time that happened, for chrissakes? And Kelly had no business trying to score on the PB. As a catcher, he should know that backstop is close and that he doesn't have the wheels to get to the plate in time.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that over the past several years I see more and more instances of 18-wheelers and other large, slow-moving vehicles blithely puttering along in lanes in which they have no business being. Hey, you dumbass, slow-moving dipstick, get your ass over into the far right lane. *That's* the slow lane, i.e., where your slow ass belongs. And don't give me this shit about, "I'm in this lane so that it opens things up for people entering the freeway from on-ramps." Bullshit. I routinely see 18-wheelers in the center lane of 3-lane freeways even though the far right (#3) lane is wide open with no on-ramp in sight. Or worse yet, I routinely see trucks in the middle lane of 3-lane freeways going about the same speed as trucks in the right lane, which means that two out of three lanes are fucked up and everyone else is trying to get over into the #1 lane to pass their slow asses . . . which jams up the #1 lane.
And don't even get me started about oblivious slow-moving motherfuckers in the fast lane who jam everything up behind them . . .
I need to be the traffic czar for this nation. I guarantee I would fix some shit up real quick. Severe beatings for infractions of the types mentioned above would only be the starting point.

Thought that was Dickel products. Never tasted or heard that about KC.
The perceived issue with Dickel products is a Flintstones vitamin note in the taste. I haven’t really noticed it much, but then again I haven’t gone through too many bottles of Dickel.

It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. Whaddaya say? Is it the new Bluesmobile or what?
Fix the cigarette lighter.

The Dirty Harry score he did was tremendous as well.

The Ben Garner head scene was filmed and added after the screening because Spielberg wanted another jump scare based on how well the audience reacted to the original print.
Yep. He paid for the filming of that extra scene it out of his own pocket. And because filming on the ocean had concluded by that point, they had to film the scene in someone's (I think it was a producer) pool. They had to pour powdered milk into the pool to make the water appear murky and so that it would seem like the underwater shots that had been done in the actual ocean.

One of my memories from the first time I saw it was having my first wife on one side of me and her older sister on the other.
I had claw marks in both arms when it was over.
Pics of ex and sister? There are rules here ya know.

People who say there's "no score" when the score is 0-0 in a sports game. Not sure why this mildly annoys me, but it does. No, there *is* a score -- the score just happens to be 0-0. Yeah, I understand that "no score" is considered shorthand for "there has been no scoring yet," but I still grit my teeth a little when I hear it. Don't ask me why, because it truly is "trivial."

Maybe start communicating with Democrats in Congress that millions of Americans were ready to fight tyranny on June 14th and they need to get the message and start becoming a very vocal opposition force. Call out the media for not covering this regime truthfully. Call out all of the trump unconstitutional bullshit. Look to muck it up for Republicans at every possible opportunity. But it needs to be very visible and very vocal. Be the leadership this country can rally behind. Stop treating this like politics and start fighting for the American people.
Democrat politicians have just come off so fake, cowardly, and regimented in the face of this attack on our way of life and government.
Because in the end this country will need people to vote for to get these fascists out. And people to fight tooth and nail to make sure we get that opportunity to vote fairly.
Believe me, I've communicated more in the past four months with my elected representatives than I did in the past 20+ years combined. And I agree with you that the Democrats need to be more vocal and aggressive in confronting the illegal and/or unconstitutional actions of the Trump Administration. But at the end of the day, given that the Republicans control the House, the Democrats aren't doing enough to curb Trump, and the non-MAGA Republicans don't have the spines to confront and take positions contrary to their MAGA brethren, I think the next 3.5 years are going to depend in large part on courts being used to thwart Trump and the willingness/ability of judges to be non-partisan in deciding legal issues.

So now that this is over what comes next?
This is basically what I said to the wife (no pics) as we walked back to our vehicle after going to the No Kings event in Claremont, CA. Terrific event. A lot more showed up than I expected. And I have more optimism now than I did before the event. But now how do we continue and channel this momentum to actually effect some meaningful change?

WTF are the Cubs wearing? Is this a tribute to the Expos?
I'm not a fan of the look, but here's the explanation the Cubs and MLB put out earlier this year.

Heading to Barbados for vacation in a couple of weeks. Planning on doing the distillery tour at Mount Gay. I was unaware of Foursquare until about 5 mins ago. Ordered a bottle delivered to the house and the distillery also looks cool but Mount Gay is the oldest rum distillery in world and closer to hotel so opting for that. Should be cool tour. I’m guessing it will be similar to bourbon trail stops. Will report back.

appeals court overruled within the past hour per local news, Trump back in charge of CA NG
This is not entirely accurate. All the Ninth Circuit did was stay enforcement of the lower court's order finding that Trump's order was contrary to the Constitution. So while that's some good news for Trump, it doesn't necessarily mean the Ninth Circuit panel will ultimately side with him when it considers the merits of the issues. The Ninth Circuit did not "overrule" the District Court -- at least not yet.
