  1. Just spent a very pleasurable 2 hours on the back patio, smoking a cigar, drinking good bourbon, and listening to sublime song after song written, arranged, and performed by Brian Wilson and his fellow Beach Boys.  When "God Only Knows" hit the queue, there was nothing to do but raise my glass in tribute to someone who gave us so much beauty.

  2. RIP, Genius.  So many great songs.

Damn -- Brian Wilson and Sly Stone both in the same week?!  Tough to handle for music lovers.

It seems MAGA has a consensus regarding the language it wants to use to replace the wording on the plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty ("Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses," etc.).

To be fair, the Luxor is beneath damn near anyone, and at this point I'm including homeless people.

The Mandalay Bay is still a luxury hotel. The Luxor is a filthy shitipile I wouldn't stay at for free. The fact that you're even attempting to equate them in your post defies rational explanation, it's like saying "For those of you who think you're too good to eat at Jean Georges Steakhouse or that half eaten burger sitting in a pool of vomit on the sidewalk, well, I guess there's a Shake Shack nearby."

Luxor is definitely worn out.  But you can also get a suite for cheap there, and it's ultra-convenient to just walk from there to Allegiant.  If you're not going to spending much time there anyway while you gamble, see the football game, eat meals, see shows, etc., it's bearable for a night or two.  At least it was for me the one time I stayed there for a Raiders game when MB was booked except for ridiculously-priced suites.  Mandalay Bay is certainly newer and nicer (and just as convenient), so I agree that I probably should have differentiated between the two in my prior post.  But you'll also pay more at MB.

Damn right.  I've never attended a politics-related rally in my life, but that will change on June 14.  Taco Trump has done so much damage to this country I love that I can no longer sit by thinking that "my vote is how I voice my opinion."

Headed to the Raiders first home game in September.

For the Vegas regulars, is there a “sweet spot” for timing to book hotel?

Not sure about the timing aspect, but for Raiders' games I have opted for convenience by staying in either Mandalay Bay or Luxor (!), and then just walking over the 15 Freeway on Mandalay Bay Road on gameday.  It's so easy.  There's also a Four Seasons on the MB property for you high rollers who think MB or Luxor are beneath you.

Bun E Carlos top my list of rockers that we know nothing about that I guarantee there is some shit to know about.

Bun E. is super cool.  He regularly releases board recordings of old CT concerts, practice sessions, etc., on Facebook and Youtube.  Daxx has certainly gotten better -- substantially so, IMO.  But Bun E. had a certain swing or feel that can't be replicated.
