Last I read, and it’s been a minute, cops “can’t” extend the stop to wait for a dog.

But, yeah, driving below the speed limit is “suspicious” because drug couriers do it. It’s fucked up.

Admittedly my training was 20 years ago, so stuff might have changed, but back in those days, that was the prime example they'd use. Basically once they brought the dogs, you were fucked (but the advice was to still stay silent and nor say a word and maintain innocence, because that shit matters in court).

yea im not following. I dont buy the "cop was looking to fuck the guy" narrative, at least in the first 20-30 seconds and especially up until TH rolled it back up.  then the cops lost his cool because he "wasnt playing that game".  had Tyreek obliged like a decent human would, we likely wouldn't be having discussion. but im not obviously going to change some posters perspective about cops here

a decent human being doesn't fuck someone up physically and legally because they rolled up their window. Rolling up your window isn't a crime. Being rude to a cop isn't a crime. You realize crimes are more than about being descent and shit, there is a hard, legal line. Law is supposed to be fucking emotionless, that whole blind scales of justice shit. Thats why the legalize is a thing, because things have to be defined in pure black and white.

Like an expired inspection, unsafe lane change, failure to follow at a safe distance, and so on. There will always be reasons.

I was president of a fraternity when I was in college. Nationals would send us these greek life videos on how to interact with the police to keep safe during activities, and since i was president, that would mean I would always be the one to talk to them. The video was basically about all the tricks police can use to create justification for basically anything. Things like saying they smell weed, even when none is present. Smelling weed doesn't mean they can enter your vehicle or anything, but it does mean they can hold you and request a dog to "prove" it, which isn't proof at all because police dogs are trained using non-verbal cues and police can give the dog a sign to react without you even knowing. All it takes is the dog to bark around your car, and voila, they can do whatever the fuck they want going forward. The initial stop can be something like "you were driving too slow" or "you were driving too fast" or "you were driving suspiciously." The stop isn't the arrest, they can stop you on discretion, then generate the "proof" to violate you once you are stopped.

I don't care about your sob story, it hasn't happened to me so it doesn't matter tough guy. Cops were right to assault him because he didnt comply with them exactly how they wanted.  /@MNLonghornFUKM

No joke I sincerely hope dipshits like they never have to explicitly find out what that shit was like, it's genuinely a traumatic experience. It fucks you up for a very long time, and while comeuppance is nice, fuck using an atrocity to prove a point. Cops fucking suck.

  5. When a cop wants to fuck your shit up, there is absolutely fucking nothing you can do to prevent it. They arrive at the conclusion they want to fuck you up first, then work backwards for justification, not the otherway around. There is literally no level of cooperation that is enough. You can be face down not struggling at all and they'll hit you and tell you to quit resisting. I fucking know from experience.

  6. I completely cooperated with the police when they mistakenly raided my place, the only thing I didn't "cooperate" with was their order to admit wrong doing (because, again, I was completely innocent and they RAIDED THE WRONG FUCKING PLACE) and for that I got the back of my head busted up on the brick wall. Cooperating with cops doesn't get you fucking anything, you dipshits have no fucking idea.

  7. For the "He should have just cooperated" crew:

When I was a student at UT, my senior year, a week before finals, I got mistakenly raided by the police in my apartment in north campus. I had just seen some friends out and was grabbing my keys to drive to Collie station for the Texas-Aggy baseball series finale, when a battery ram came through my door. Instantly a dozen of Austin's finest were on me with assault rifles in my face and zip ties around my hands. They told me "my boy" had "flipped" on me earlier the day and that "they knew I was hiding the stuff." I was living in an efficiency by myself, like a 200 sqft tiny box. They never told me exactly what they were looking for, only that it was "mountains of drugs." The main detective which was coordinating everything brought me outside and told me to just confess and make it easy on them, and I told him that, with due respect, I had seen a lot of movies and tv shows about police and I knew that in instances like that, even if I was innocent, I should keep my mouth shut until I have a lawyer with me. The guy slammed my head into the brick wall behind me, causing me to bleed, and told me that I could watch in silence while they fucked up everything (his words). So he brought me inside, and for 4 fucking hours, they destroyed my apartment. It was very clear within 10 minutes they had the wrong guy, but they didn't care. They obliterated my mini fridge, just pulled the door straight off. They cut holes in my couch cushions and pulled out all the padding. They cut holes into the walls, pulling out the sheet rock and insulation. They fucked up my bathroom sink and pulled out pipes and plumbing. They smashed my Xbox. They even fucking cut holes in my TV dinners so they'd spoil.

So at this point, they're asking each other "want to fuck up his car?" and their superior is telling them "naw, our warrant won't allow this, let's just leave." So they all got up, and started to walk out. My place was completely destroyed, it looked like a hurricane had hit. I was obviously in the middle of a city area in Austin, it was like 8 pm and dark. I tell them as they're walking out, "Hey, what do I do? My door is off the hinge, I'm gonna get robbed like this" and they told me "you have duct tape under your sink, we saw it, just tape the door back up." One single cop took pity and took me aside and told me, "call your landlord, tell them we made a mistake, and she'll send someone out to fix the door."

At this point, the entire apartment complex was outside my door, watching the cops. When they started to walk out, my neighbors booed them and offered to help me clean up. Dude from across the street said I looked like I was in shock and got me some water and a blanket. He walked me over to the landlord's office, which was still there, and told her what happened. The police found a single adderall pill in my apartment -- it was finals, sue me. They told me if I made a stink over them fucking up my apartment, they'd make a federal case out of it because I didn't have a prescription. They threatened to destroy me if I retaliated for them coming in and fucking up an innocent person's place. For fucking *MONTHS* after that, I was paranoid. I constantly worried about people just running into my place at any time, locks be damned.

It sucked so fucking much. I hate APD with all my fucking heart, and fuck the police. I never had any problem with cops before that, but that single instance ruined police for me forever. When you're truly, seriously innocent and they come in like jackboot thugs and fuck your shit up and you can't do anything about it? Yeah, fuck off. This is why people hate the police, this is why "just cooperate" isn't a thing. ACAB.

EDIT: Incidentally, my professors were cool as fucking shit about all this. The following monday I had a final exam and completely bombed it, I was so shaken. My professor noticed my final exam grad was way, way lower than all my other grades in the class and contacted me, and I told him what happened. He let me retake the exam a week later and told me to contact my other professors and student councilor and tell them what happened, and when I did they all worked with me to give me extra time to prepare for my finals. So luckily the cops didn't tank my final semester grades.

  8. Man, the whole media landscape has changed so drastically. Last time Texas was in this position, I remember watching Sports Center every monday morning on campus at wendy's waiting for them to talk about Texas basically all semester. Does Sports Center even run in that format anymore? I realize I haven't watched sports center in like 10 years.

Yet everyone up here wears Broncos stuff...

Buddy of mine runs one of the most popular sports bars in Denver. He's never been a college football fan, so I was texting him being like "are you a fan now that Deion Sanders is a thing at Colorado?" and he was like "Deion Sanders is on the broncos? what?" He had no fucking idea the Colorado Buffs were a thing. Asked him what about all the fans coming in with CU gear and he was like "what fans?" I don't think the Buffs are taking over colorado like people assumed.

Most of the fans before the game were giving us the horns down as we walked to the stadium.  Except a lot of them couldn’t do the horns sign correctly.  I was wandering why they hated Hawaii so much.

I have no fucking clue how so many people get this wrong. It's like they've never hailed satan before in their lives.

  11. Ewers plays best in the biggest, tightest games. If he continues this trend in the game against Georgia, the Heisman is his. Too many big game moments for him over his career to ignore it at that point. He's becoming one of the best big-game performers in school history.

  12. My stinky boy turned 15 a few days ago, and I notice he's been having more and more trouble with artritis. It's not extremely bad yet, but it's noticable that he struggles to get up after laying down, and he's been falling down a few times. He sleeps at my side on the bed and has done so for his whole life, but he's hesitant to jump up now, like he has to psych himself up. And I took him to a beach house in July and he had a ton of trouble with the stairs (although the water really helped him).

I've never had a dog with this sort of problem before, so I'm looking up ways to help him. I've already got him some chews that'll reduce the inflammation, but I was looking into more of a structural support. My dog has never been the kind who likes being physically carried, he's a medium sized dog so he is weird to hold. I was initially looking for a harness so that, if ever needed, I could lift him up easily, when I started looking into hip braces. Reading online, I see there are many types, from full back brace harnesses with leg braces, to ones you slide under your dogs belly to help ease pressure when you take them for a walk.

My main questions are A) Do these hip braces work well? and B) How long can my dog wear one? Should he only wear a brace when we go for a walk, or can he wear them all day long? He's at that age now where he likes to sleep a lot when we're not playing, and getting up from laying down is getting hard for him, so I'd kind of like a brace that he could wear while he sleeps to help him stand back up. Can you do that with a hip brace?

Anybody ever dealt with this? My dog's quality of life is still good, he still plays and runs and such, it's not like he's an invalid, I just don't want to ignore the problem and make it worse.

While that's gruntling, keep in mind they were overrating Meatchicken before, so... grain of salt and all that...

The ESPN computers actually had Michigan lower than their top 10 AP ranking, they had the at 15. I'm not sure if that's too high or not yet, it's hard to tell how bad Michigan is considering Texas is rolling.
