    - The origin of 'manchac' is not French. It's from the Choctaw 'imashaka'. Everywhere I look, that's what I find

    - The 'a' wasn't just suddenly added late in the history of Manchaca. It came and went on different documents and signs over the years ... likely a result of mixed use of and varying preferences for the different spellings and pronunciations of imashaka and manchac.

    - And finally ... why are you such a raging dick about this - or is that just how you always are?

Ask Shaka?  While he still works in Travis Co?

Respectfully, memory is often a tricky thing.  In 2005 that NC squad was clinging to a 5 pt lead at Collie Station in the 4th quarter.  Pino hit an incredibly long FG to make it an 8 pt lead.  He made it a 2 score game with another FG at less than 3:00 on the clock.  VY had 19 net rushing yards that day.

VY lost the Heisman in that game.  The aggy game tended to be close no matter what those years.

you know you are truly back(i mean NC type back) when you start winning home games against middling conf teams by 25 to 30 points that are over by the end of the 3Q.  we have a few opportunities to do this this year.

This is incorrect.  In the VY era (and Bama ever since), games against any but the top one or two teams in the league are over for all intensive porpoises by midway through the second quarter, never mind halftime.  Third quarter is for subs to get some needed experience.  And then the subs beat them like a drum for a while.

    Safety-dance!
Ah we can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're are no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to, a place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind,
    And we can dance
We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're are no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to a place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind
    And we can dance.

Who remembers the Longhorn Saftey Dance that played on the radio in Austin in 1983?

    Norwegian metal is no joke!

I  think it is possible that I  smelled pure Aquanet  through the computer screen.  It was good times when your date wore more hair spray then you. ahaha.

Anybody remember the Backroom off of Riverside in Austin? I saw lots of  hair bands there back in the day . That place always stunk of Aquanet and beer. I am not sure but I think I saw Twisted Sister there and maybe Quiet Riot. Anybody? Bueller?

Foghat and The Knack for me at the Backroom.

  6. My daughter and I were leaving the game from students side so we worked our way by the LHN set to see what they were saying, then headed through the tunnel in the south end zone with a thousand rowdy fans. As we were right under the the players ramp, Ehlinger, Hager, Kris Boyd and some others pulled the tarps back to yell/wave/take a bow.  The noise under there at that point was absolutely deafening.
