No surprise that a sophisticate from the big city has no knowledge of Permian basinVenezia in Midland is pretty good Italian and they have the best wine list in W Texas. Cork & Pig in Odessa or if they’re full go next door to the Red Oak Kitchen (same kitchen).

We're the bad guys," the source said. "We're always the bad guys when all we want is what's best for us. Any one of them would have done the same if they had gotten the invite (to the SEC) that we did."
Interesting. Not sure I recall hearing that the SEC initially reached out to Texas or it was the other way around. Don’t believe I’ve heard that before.

I’ve bought more valves than you’ve thought about in your lifetime but wondering why this thread has gone down a completely uninteresting tangent.

Funny that Altuve’s first home run as an Astro was an inside the park shot where he ran through the stop sign at third.

Appreciate these posts @Ghost of LL. I remember talking to an aerospace engineering buddy of mine when we were in school in the 80's: It's more thermally efficient to accelerate a lot of air a little bit than to accelerate a little bit of air a whole lot. So high bypass engines were/are the wave of the future. I remember seeing the 777 for the first time and marveling at the large diameter of the engines relative to the diameter of the fuselage. Now it's commonplace to see those on all airliners. Those CFM engines on the 737Max are crazy looking.

Any opinion on Todd Snyder jeans? Other preferred jeans brand on a higher plane than Levi's? Looking to up my jeans game.

3) “Dolar Blue”
Start researching foreign exchange rates for cash.
There is usually a street rate for cash exchange that is drastically different than the official exchange.
Basically, the government restricts the purchase of foreign currencies at banks and the government may drastically change the exchange rate at any time, so locals buy foreign currency on the black market as soon as they get paid.
This little custom means that you could get 1.5x to 2.5x the official exchange rate… but some credit cards have started giving the street rate and a new president took power in December and it is all quite confusing.
I had this same experience in Venezuela regarding the “street” exchange rate. Also, don’t know if this is the case in Argentina but in some African countries a crisp brand new $100 bill brought a better exchange rate than any other denomination. Don’t bring old wrinkly notes.

A buddy of mine broke his ankle falling off a set of rollers. They take some getting used to and skill. Never tried it myself.

I've ridden on the road in traffic for 30+ years. You have to act like a car, pay careful attention to what the cars are doing around you, and yes, to turn left, check over your left shoulder, and when it's clear, move to the left turn lane.

Don’t believe the Mach E qualifies for the 7500 tax credit as of Jan 1.
Well that sucks. Looks like Chinese batteries put it out. Is there any vehicle in the US that qualifies for the full $7500? Still like the Mach E though.
