  1. Underrated comment in there is saying OU lost 7 starting OL. After we beat Michigan, they're going to say they lost 27 starters from last year.
  2. Such a great throwaway in the middle of the article. Also this one: White team starter Conner Weigman only completed 5-of-14 passes for 47 yards. Yet, he was involved in one play which should boost hopes for next season. There has been some question whether Weigman, last year’s starter, has completely recovered from a broken foot injury. Weigman evaded heavy pressure, scampered to his right and purposely threw incomplete to avoid lost yardage. Our offensive line may actually be worse than last year, but at least our broken bodied quarterback shows the ability to throw incomplete passes behind them. WHOOP!
  3. Toia initially transferred to UCLA from USC and I think burned some bridges on the way out. I actually think he's a better player than Williams and has supposedly put a lot of work into his body this offseason. He was spectacular against the run last year and I suspect he could see a Sweat/Murphy type breakout this year.
  4. Supposedly, he was banging a player's mom. Like any self-respecting high school football coach.
  5. With the way we've been recruiting the portal, I don't necessarily see it with Marcus Harris. Looks like a P5 player on tape and has proved it against high-level competition, but based on size/speed (neither of which is terrible by any means) he seems like a guy we'd ultimately recruit over. He actually reminds me of CJ Williams from a few years back at Mater Dei, albeit a little better - solid prospect but I don't see a real difference maker. Would be happy to have him if we miss on Ffrench and Moore and then would also be fine when he portals to Arizona two years later. I like McCutcheon more of the next tier guys.
  6. Love this kid's tape = he and his circle respond to Nahlin's 3pm drunk texts.
  7. Burton seems to think Bear to Texas is likely if he enters the portal. I guess I'd rather have him on the roster than not, although with NIL allocation it's not zero sum anymore. My hope is that he correctly views this as a contract year and turns it up a notch accordingly. If we get Bear and a proven/reliable DT in Spring, we'll be in good shape considering the strength of other position groups on the defense.
  8. Was in Vegas with 7 buddies a couple months back, only a couple of us had ever played craps before, so little to no strategy in the group. We were at Resorts World and caught the biggest heater I've ever been a part of, just pure luck that would not end. Walked out of the casino at 7 a.m. with well over $10k collectively. My friend and I were wearing Texas polos and two old ass drunk Michigan fans joined our table around 3 a.m. and were screaming Texas Fight. Won those guys so much money that they gave both of us a $500 chip on their way out. It was a fever dream.
  9. Did we ever confirm whether Michael Taafe is good or bad? Need to let Blake Gideon know ASAP.
  10. Smart tactic to keep practice attendance under the wraps. Wouldn't want the Maroon team to find out about missing players on the White team ahead of the Spring Game.
  11. Yes, Colin Simmons is currently playing close to Aaron Donald's weight but has retained his speed and bend. That's been a nice development.
  12. Not just that, but development on the fringes of recruiting classes is very important. Turning 3 star types like Murphy/Sweat, Chris Olave, Jordan Davis and Ladd McConkey into Day 1 guys can push a talented program over the edge. That said, the name of the game is still stacking your team with stud top 20 guys that require minimal development to contribute at a high level.
  13. He does clearly state the issue in the article - had he left earlier, his former coaching staff would have had the opportunity to search for jobs during a window where there were plenty of openings. This article does not lay enough blame on the UCLA athletic department for its role in this clown show, but Chip Kelly behaved like a narcissistic dirtbag just as he did for his whole tenure.
  14. This is evergreen Aggies. We're losing all of our best players but it's good because we'll field a bunch of red ass good Ags who trained like Navy SEALS.
  15. Elk didn't like what he saw in winter practice. Matthews couldn't compete with the Sun Belt all stars and got processed.
  16. Surly is apoplectic if Quinn Ewers throws it behind someone when we're up 28 so not really the best barometer.
  17. Cronin has a team with an average of 1 year of experience per player that's just won 8 of its last 10 games. I happen to watch every UCLA and Texas game and that team plays much better basketball with drastically worse talent.
  18. I don't blame the players because if you watch teams coached by Mick Cronin, Chris Beard and Kelvin Sampson, each player expends maximum amount of effort and focus on the offensive/defensive boards and defensively. I don't think we have a particularly lazy group of guys.
  19. The effort level of this team is subpar generally. I don't really blame the players, they're clearly not coached to play with the right level of intensity.
  20. If this kid puts on another 20 lbs I'll forgive him for the prank.
  21. I think it's going to be sips got lucky they played Michigan post-Harbaugh + ESiPN didn't give them a real SEC schedule because they didn't play Tennesssee, Ole Miss or Bama. And then the usual "sips are actually 8-4 because they got lucky/bailed out by the refs and should have lost against x, y and z." If we go into the Georgia game undefeated one of them might actually Lee Harvey Oswald Sark
