Back to the Alonzo penalty. It’s been bugging me a bit. Basically they are saying the cars are so sensitive and unstable in dirty air that slowing or maneuvering at the wrong time or in a non consistent way can lead to an accident. This seems to be a huge problem with the car design itself.

Imagine driving down mopac and your car goes out of control because the guy in front of you took his foot off the gas for a moment. It would be a giant scandal and recall. Perhaps they need to go back to the drawing board with this design and return to a lighter/smaller design that isn’t so dependent on perfect downforce.

The problem there was Alonso lifted early and George was going to run in to the back of him so he swerved and ended up bouncing off the wall.  If it happened in a corner that was wider or had a run off, it wouldn't have been an issue because he would have had room to maneuver which is probably why Alonso picked that turn to do it in.

  2. There is something about the design of their rear axle and wheel nuts that causes the wheel nuts to cross thread almost every time they change tires.  It's so bad that they go slow on purpose during pit stops and still have issues on both cars.

Oh, and imagine if Andretti showed up and embarrassed themselves and F1, because a megabucks racing team couldn’t design a working wheel nut. Oh, the shame and disrepute they would bring on the pinnacle of motorsport.

Seriously, how did they not catch that before the season?  Did they never practice pit stops or something?

  4. This was one of the strangest movies I've ever seen and also very good.  Interesting flick and Emma Stone most definitely deserved her Oscar.

  5. Ha, Sam had no clue what he was saying.  I've never had trouble understanding him, but his accent must make it hard for anyone who isn't a native English speaker.

They didn’t let the wrong driver go, They shouldn't have let either driver go.

I think Leclerc is generally better at qualifying, but during races Sainz has the edge on pace and isn't as prone to the brain farts that Leclerc has.  Wherever he ends up, I hope he manages to find a spot on one of the top teams.  He's good enough that he needs to be in a competitive car.

  7. Alonso was hoping to make Russell lock up on the last lap so that he couldn't pass him.  He let off 100m earlier than normal going in to that turn.  Given that there was no room to run off or go 2 wide, it was a really dangerous spot to do it.  That penalty is among the steepest I can remember being given out recently and I think it was warranted.

It took Sainz a good minute to get himself out of the car after the race.  It's clear he's still pretty sore and makes his race that much more impressive.

  8. When a reporter you don't know is desperate for an interview, it would raise some red flags amongst the Manning's about what kind of article he wants to write.  The last thing they want is for some jackass to try to gin up some kind of bullshit when they are happy with Arch's situation.

So according to the Palaces, both Kate and Chuck enter the same hospital for scheduled procedures a day or two apart, and both emerge with incidental findings of cancer.  Really? I guess it's possible, but because Kensington Palace has 100% fucked up the entire PR management for Kate, I call bullshit.

I completely get the desire to manage public knowledge of a cancer diagnosis, particularly with three young children. But then why the lies? Why say it was "non-cancerous" so quickly? Why put out stories in the last 48 hours about how Kate is making school runs, runs errands around town, and plans to make a big splash return to public duties on Easter Sunday walking to church with the rest of the family.

They need to fire their entire PR team.

And I agree with @Nicole44 that there's likely more going on with William pissed off at Chuck and Camilla.

Abmas is an off ball guard but we don’t have anyone with handles (Hunter is literally passing it to the other team) or anyone else Tennessee is afraid of shooting. Limits our offense.

He's also undersized and not very quick.  He's overmatched against big and athletic guards like the Vols have.
