  1. Ice and beans is a good coffee spot and has light breakfast stuff. A chicken and beans fry jack at Errolyns is a good breakfast option too. Pasta per caso Anna and Armando is supposed to be a damn good Italian place. The couple is from Italy so they know what they’re doing. We wanted to go last year when we were there but it was closed because the wife was ill. They also have a gelato place down by the lazy lizard. The rainbow grill is an open air bar and restaurant that’s built out over the water. They have solid food and the view is great. Their ceviche is good.

  2. Eat at Habaneros on Caye Caulker. It’s more expensive than the other places on the island, but the food is great. The Fisherman’s Stew is damn good. Also the Lazy Lizard at the split is a good bar on the water. They make a damn good pina colada and the food is pretty good too if you get hungry. Eat as much ceviche as humanly possible. It’s good pretty much everywhere. Try conch if they have it. And lobster. Lots and lots of lobster.

Cross posted from the WSM thread.

This is last Saturday's dinner.  14 hours on the smoke (charcoal, hickory, pecan).  Rested, and kept warm for around 6 hours in the oven (cycling temp since there's no warm or slow cook function).  Good stuff.

Admittedly I don't know much about payoffs and sham contracts/bribes but would you use the same LLC to pay off porn stars and perform lobbying/consulting with legitimate and not-so-legitimate companies?    Come on Cohen, shell out a few extra bucks to create a different LLC.     Wouldn't a competent fixer now how best to structure companies to keep other transactions separate and private, especially when you're near the President?

He was in well over his head.  We are fortunate that almost no competent people work for Trump.

  5. And I never said they used material from the heavy water sites to build the actual bombs.  It was used for testing during the project though.

I think that's correct in one sense and not in another.  It's correct if people can be made to see it for what it is.  But I'm sure you know that money is fungible and if the payment is not direct you can bet your life that showing it gets tougher.  Trump will argue that the Novartis money went to Cohen and he had no idea, and Cohen "paid his mortgage"  because Cohen was his buddy.

I have no doubt that Cohen was functioning as a bagman.  I've been crystal clear on that.  I am unclear how easy that will be to prove.

It's a good thing Cohen liked to record conversations.

Maybe after the bomb was already developed.  The old reactors (Hayward?) used graphite.

Nope, the US had 3 active heavy water plants during the Manhattan Project.
