    What do you mean?

Thank you all for the guidance and resources.

Pretty much anything can be called a bill of sale at this point.  Just be careful what you sign.  The buyer may call the deposit payment and if there's any documentation that's changed hands a "bill of sale" and demand the title.

    People are assholes these days.

Tell him to be careful on his first internship. In the 90's I wanted to work with Object Oriented Design and R&D. Took first internship that came along because of my grades and ended up doing databases, 4GL, C and SQL became my first language. It took me years to get back to what I wanted to do. I was able to get back because one never forgets what you learn at a good CS program like UT.

In all fairness OOD is something he could teach himself now.  But yes, be careful.  What he’s saying about interns doing all the sql is true and it’s boring.

Posting here because I imagine that I'll be buying my first "home theater" stuff...

My 12yo 60 inch DLP died last night.  I haven't bought a TV in 9 years and don't know jack about today's TVs.  I want >60" screen and ability to use Roku and Apple TV, etc.  I've been told I'll likely want a "sound bar," which I had to google before going outside to yell at some kids on my lawn.  This sort of thing I'd usually research the hell out of and hunt for sales, but I have no time as I need a new TV for this weekend.

Please edumacate me, wise Surly home theatre experts.

Check out Fry's as bby will typically always be more expensive, if you need one by this weekend.  If you can wait, you can snag an 82" Samsung UN82MU8000 82" Smart LED 4K brand new off ebay for around $2800.  Have one in the living room and love it.

Also make sure you look at distance charts to make sure you're getting the right size.  Here's a nice deal Fry's is running.

Sony 70" Class (69.5" Actual Diagonal Size) X690E Series LED 4K Ultra HDR Smart TV - $1299 was $1999

Can’t believe you guys are arguing with a poster of a school that has never won dick and gloating about something they don’t even have yet in green and others. Lulzz. And talking about rankings in April. JFC.

They celebrate the other schools in their conference.  Shouldn't really be surprised they're celebrating the beginning of the off-season.

  5. Unfortunately Lonestar is a bit of a gorilla in this area as far as select soccer goes.   They bought out a lot of the original Austin area travel teams (Capitals, Flyers, Longhorns, etc.).   If you want to check out a list of local clubs give http://caysa.org/clubs/ a whirl and do some research on each.

Personally I'd keep him in rec at his age and keep having him play up but be willing to go to other areas of centex to get a more traditional style and look into private lessons.  If we do in fact land Austin FC, there very well might be an academy that comes with it similar to Dallas and Houston.

In the end though, $500 isn't that expensive.  When I was playing for Caps when they were still around it was $1000+ per season.   We had several kids on "scholarship" in order to stay on the team.

This is one of the benefits of the academy system.  He'll be playing with kids with similar goals/skill levels but because there's so damn many of them in LSA, it allows them to drive the cost down.

You obviously don't understand the ONEAL effect. He's Peak LOB all by himself

I think we all understand the ONEAL effect.

He's so slow that he won't even make it to the stadium by time conference play starts.

That's why I think Texas is going to be named one of these days if Nike's methods get broken. The amount of money that UL (and yes I know it was Adidas for UL) for a relatively small recruit is crazy.

Bowen was a 5 star guard and a top 25 player.  Not exactly a small time recruit.

  8. Here's the OM1.  One of the best sounding acoustics I've ever heard.  Was able to get the moment on video.  One of the best moments of my life.  ADvbIL.jpg

And yes, my counters were dirty as shit.  Minion no. 1 was 6 at the time and messy as shit.

Spoke briefly last night with Hornian re: durable POA, etc. & my mind drifted into an unfrozen caveman roofing contractor mode.

I need to call him back.

As to Judge Roy's ?, we are hopefully today or tomorrow getting her into Hill Country Care out here in Drip on 290.

Odd thing, she is a patient, on 4th floor, but from a financial status is considered an "observation" status & that doesn't count towards the 3 night stay qualification that is apparently an automatic qualifier for ins. to pay.

    Thoughts on cyber security?

Always going to be a need for it.   Especially with almost every single business having a digital footprint now.  What's going to be interesting in cyber security is the advances in A.I. and what that means for most of those types of roles.  Intelligent network monitoring is going to be a thing sooner than a lot of people realize.

We drove around this area and didn't love it. It was very suburbia. I am willing to pay more to be closer to downtown / walkable neighborhoods as the significant other doesn't drive. It will result in longer commute for me but important she can get around not just via Lyft.

Did we not go the right area?

You probably did.  If the significant other doesn't drive, that changes things a bit.  If you want a house closer to downtown that's walkable though... you're going to be looking at 900k-1mil for anything that doesn't look like a trap house.
