My first experience with someone having to make a decision regarding a 3rd trimester abortion was on my 3rd year OB gyn rotation as a med student. A 30ish mom with a 9 yo and a toddler was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer that initial staging showed was in the local lymph nodes at least. She was 6 weeks or more from her baby being at the brink of viability (months in NICU, likely lifelong GI issues, possible cognitive deficits, etc). To have even a 50-50 chance at 5 year survival, the heme-onc team said she needed immediate chemotherapy which meant terminating the pregnancy.

Keep her baby and not live to see any of her children grow up. Abort her baby and have a 50% chance of being there for the other 2 children. She chose to keep the baby. Don't know how it turned out but I have a pretty good idea.

Almost all late stage abortions are true life or death situations for the mom, or fatal birth defects for the baby. These are devastatingly difficult decisions, and most of the parents consider it no different than the loss of a child.

I mean doesn’t that sound *just* like shooting a 14 month old alive puppy that you’ve had trouble training? Hoo boy

Nope, that was just a dream. He is never going to leave Japan.

In the dream he’s clutching Mariko’s cross. We all watched as he dropped it in the ocean after spreading Fuji’s family’s ashes.

I don’t. He’s not a comedian nor is he much of a cook. The runners were apparently desperate to have a tie into The Bear. Neither Matty nor Kish could explain the challenge, the chefs didn’t understand it, we didn’t quite get it. And the haughty comments especially from Marty. “The simplicity makes it chaotic!” Next: “the complexity makes it chaotic!”

And yet you have the Great Tosi in the building who was always a great judge on MasterChef, who thrived with David Chang, and is a food genius. What a waste. She would have been an ideal guest judge.

Michelle, Soo and Dan are the only chefs here I like. Glad to see that irritating one sent home.

The challenge wasn’t hard. “Cook your own food. Take risks” - that was it. It was almost a finale challenge. I thought it was stupid how so many people got thrown off by having no guard rails.

Are they taking every Wednesday off?

Yes, but that’s a court mandated schedule and not a Trump accommodation

I thought he was a patent/IP guy?  Have I been on Planet Xenon all this time?  (Nobody answer that.)

No, you’re right. Scottsins did crim law and a few others. Foosters maybe?

But let's be clear, Top Chef is not about finding the best chef....it's about the game.

I mean yes and no. It is definitely a game show. That’s why most of the elimination challenges have time limits and gimmicks. But also Top Chef has bolstered careers and given legitimacy to otherwise little known (or locally renowned) chefs. I think restaurants and the public give contestants and winners higher esteem for having cooked on the show

I’ll take your word for it but show before everybody made fried cheese curds.   This one only one dish was worth a damn

No argument from me on this

I know every top chef is talented right?  I mean some of these people are Michelin star nominees or winners?  But this seems like the worst group ive ever seen.  Imagine what voltaggio, Isabella , qui, etc would do in this group

I think they made a big effort to actually get higher quality contestants this season than others. Michelin stars, James Beard awards, etc. Some seasons they seemed to be filling spots with just about anyone

  9. One absolute failure team and one that delivered fine dining consistent with the theme. Everyone else was so mediocre that they needed a pep talk at the end.

    Spoiler

Rasika with two elimination wins already.

Yes they did. It was like the state of california voluntarily dropping a football before entering the end zone

That and feeling the need to get caught planting evidence despite an already strong case

Well it’s been a minute but didn’t the police make some serious fuck ups and/or tamper/create evidence?  Mark furman?  It was enough to cast some doubt, which is all that is required by law and more than enough for the public to take a position.

Yeah and many recent documentaries and a limited series drama on it explaining all that in context of race riots in LA and massive corruption against black people by LAPD and trolly mctrollface “has no idea” how it could have happened

Crab salad dude violated one of the main rules of Italian cuisine, never combine cheese and seafood.  Tom was probably offended to his core.

Plus it was soggy and no one could taste the cheese.

    Whatever happened to Mr. Phlegm?

Coincidentally I think he was tortured for five years by The Queen, the Vatican, the Gettys, the Rothschilds, and Colonel Sanders before he went tits up. The pentaverate only gets to our best and brightest

I think the issue with Garland is that he isn't involved with things at all. I get the impression that he isn't doing much.

The job was supposed to be a consolation prize. Serve a largely ceremonial role and let the DOJ leadership cook. Unfortunately those plans don’t match up with a uniquely corrupt former president who committed crimes in office and after while presently working to destroy democracy

Vic is absolutely right that it only gets worse with Stephen.

Whatever little you think of Jerry remember that Stephen is the genetic material of him and a woman who is such a spineless lumpfish of a woman that she has allowed Jerry to fuck any piece of ass all over town, have fun babies and probably the only thing she demanded in return was to be able to put some artwork in the stadium and get Jerry to browbeat telecasts into mentioning it for the first decade of said stadium's existence.

Stephen will be 10x more pathetic and 10x more pathetic than Jerry.  Thanks a lot Eugenia.....

    fucking nepo babies
