  1. My quick math indicates that Dykes had 2 votes while the other also receiving crowd had one each, fwiw.
  2. Sounds like a guy who is probably better than his rating because ATH. Any worry that he is convinced of the “value” of playing closer to home before signing day?
  3. When we beat LSU, they will lament that we get credit for stumbling onto a team still reeling and retooling from the epic game against aggy. The story will be that the superior LSU team thought it had time to come up with a new offense after coming up short against them, and we lucked into a W against a team that beats us 9/10 once they get things sorted out. Also home cooking.
  4. Thanks for the correction.
  5. I have a good friend who is also an alumnus. He refuses to send them a red cent until they come clean. They sent a representative to town to reassure him about the response and that Baylor would be doing all the right things right before another one of the embarrassing official mishandling stories broke. If Texas were continuing to do what Baylor has/is, I’d throw all my orange in the trash and put my diploma in a black bag.
  6. Yes. I was thinking he will be a good case study in the Herman early eval/offer process.
  7. Looking at numbers from this chart, we have 77 on scholarship after subtracting DmB. 25 of those are JR or SR. That leaves 33 spots over the next 2 classes, plus attrition etc. If 4-5 guys leave a year for whatever reason (historically they do) and we take 21 in 20, that leaves us about 22 spots in 21. Normally I would guess slightly higher on transfers/retirements/draftees etc, but I thought I’d start with a relatively conservative estimate.
  8. Looking at this chart, we have 77 on scholarship after subtracting DmB. 11 Seniors. Not a lot of early entry NFL candidates, but Cosmi might go. Not a lot of washout/transfer candidates, maybe Urquidez. Injury retirement for Cummins wouldn’t shock me based on how little game time appears to be in the cards for him. That’s a 2020 class of 20 if 2/3 of the guys I listed leave. There are almost always a couple others that go for some reason. 22 seems like a plausible max for this year. 20 might do it, though, if there are no late must-takes.
  9. What a great addition. Hookem young man!
  10. How could anyone smart enough to find Cal on a map still watch (present tense) Baylor football except to hope for the wrath of God to smite it?
  11. Yeah, but remember that one time they beat Bama?
  12. Clemson was disappointed not to be facing 2005 USC and didn't want to be there.
  13. There's more in his world on which to feed than just balls.
  14. If these texts float around too long in the mediaverse, it could mess up USC's timing for hiring UM. He'd be radioactive if the thing for which he was most famous was coming up with stories to cover domestic violence.
  15. Even if he chooses/sticks with UGA, it takes a little wind out of the negative recruiters' sails every time a blue chip recruit mentions us positively and publicly.
  16. They're environmentally friendly now. They extensively reuse and recycle excuses as well.
  17. Yeah, when Bijan's senior time is public, that joke will truly come to fruition.
  18. I'm fine with OU's losing players to a black hole of football mediocrity from which they will never score on us.
  19. Did you not notice that they won it? Moral victory over us, 29-40 (capping a streak of moral victories which included OU and Tech). By transitive property, they get credit for everything we do subsequently.
  20. Our 5* has landed. Victory on B-Day!
  21. Style the title and ostensible content around the theme of "Hard, hitting, no-nonsense, thinking look at aggy football from a man's man perspective." Then make all the content fantasy pap and suck-up-to-coaches pieces. Moderate all alternate opinion away with condescending notes about "aggy values" and "obvious to those who think rather than buy into BOMC BS." Include a lot of graphics featuring farm animals and poorly closeted gay men. Have premium membership levels with words you are only allowed to post based on your level. Must be at third tier up to get "boot" icon next to your avatar. Include pseudo-military names and iconography in the levels. Have at least one or two full-time "strawman sip" posting staff who use a variety of logins to make us look as foolish as possible by letting the rubes mock "us" and "what whorn fehgs think."
  22. Weird Science allusion
  23. Hope seems always to be highest in August, especially before any (heaven forbid) camp injuries. I have a positive gut feeling (too much salsa last night?), though, that I have not had in about a decade. A few bounces of the ball can turn a game, and in some ways even a whole season. That said, when was the last time we started the year with (1) a QB with legit skins on the wall and "it," (2) not just an exciting skill player, but exciting skill players that we will have to work to find a way to fit onto the field because of who is in front of them, (3) an OL that isn't one injury or illness away from total catastrophe (or worse-- already there) but rather appears solid, (4) a coach that looks like he loves and thrives in big games, and (5) great freshman talent that we plan to redshirt because we can. Defense has some questions, but there appear to be plausible and agreeable answers available-- we will need to see. All in all, I think this team is ready for a great season. Not good-- great. Have some Koolaid! I plan to keep chugging it myself.
  24. Wait, I thought they were the guy who married his student, “converted,” beat her, divorced her, and started the cycle over.
