And we fight so, so, so hard to avoid admitting it.

Surely you've done something at some point in your life you're genuinely ashamed of, because it was genuinely bad -- you cheated on a partner, you stole something from someone, whatever.  If you've ever done something like that, and THEN you confessed your wrongdoing....you know how amazing, and cleansing that is.  Once it is done, you realize that you, and those you have wronged, can genuinely move forward and eventually move beyond the original wrong.

Slavery and racism are our original sins.  And they aren't just incidental/products of circumstance.  They were woven in from the very beginning; they were embedded in our founding document; even after a Civil War over the legal status of black people (slaves or free?), we then spent a century fighting to insure that, even if free, they had a status that was less than fully American, less than fully free.  These weren't bugs of our system - they were features.

ACKNOWLEDGE IT.  ADMIT IT.  CONFRONT IT.  Only once you do those things can you heal.  We are doing everything we can to PREVENT healing.  We wrap ourselves in the flag and crow about how exceptional we are, and just shout over any mention of our sin.  We do everything we can to avoid the one thing that can actually make us better: admit the wrong, and seek healing.

Truth.  Until this takes place this country will never be whole.

Secondly, last night galvanized me to do everything I can in the coming weeks.  I I will vote early and encourage others to do so in person, and I am signing up to be a poll monitor.  Let the magats try to intimidate people at the polls.

I'm working a polling location on election day for the first time.  Also voting early.

Yep. The world is on the way back to "normal". The Clippers winning a title would have signaled the end of the world as we know it.

I mean is he not allowed to have that opinion?  Whether you agree with him or not the idea that he's a bad person because he said he wouldn't support not standing for the flag is nonsense.  Can't deviate from the narrative at all or people will just jump your nuts.  His apology just made him look like a tool.  In that instance Trump was right.  He shouldn't have to apologize for his opinion.

His opinion on the flag is not and was not the issue. He received the backlash because his comment had NOTHING to do with the topic being discussed.

Read the IG post to Trump. That's what the discussion is about.

Man, why do I have to keep repeating the voir dire questions that solve for your concern. It's like everyone has me on ignore.

Do you own or have you ever owned any Affliction apparel? Do you own or have you owned a John Deere or Caterpillar hat? is your truck jacked up? Do you own a riding mower? Are you a member of the NRA?

    Is this sarcasm?

Got it, understood. I’m a huge Jordan fan being from Chicago but I’m honest enough to know that we most likely wouldn’t have 8-Peated even if MJ never retired the first time...and knew MJ wasn’t perfect and had some faults. The Suns were the best team most of the year in 93 but MJ went MJ (and our unheralded bench) which brings up the point that no one knows what would have happened and we (sports fans/media) need to stop comparing players of different eras.

    Looking forward to this series.

I hope the series puts to rest the idea that they could have won 8 in a row.  That team was on fumes at the end of the '98 playoffs.

Who says you have to be out partying to get a hangover?

Vegas is about an hour flight time from SLC.  That was one of the rumors at the time.

Coaches make decisions based on their personnel.  To say that this kid or that kid would have been a better option is based on a dream and not reality.  Coach thought that none of the big men would stop Bagley on defense and would probably add nothing on offense so he took; a chance to create a mismatch on the other end.

You don't need to have volumes of data.  Just a basic understanding of the game.

Is it possible for a Coach to make a mistake when selecting personnel?

And by the way, the video above doesn't show the entire clip. The game is essentially over, the Griz are up by 18 with less than a minute left. The Knicks have conceded. They lazily inbound the ball looking to run out the clock and Crowder sneaks in and steals the ball. It reminded me when Bird stole the ball from Isiah Thomas, except the only thing it had in common with that epic moment in NBA history was that there was a steal of an inbounds pass. And truthfully, the Knicks don't seem so bothered by the steal even though on its own merit, is a rather large-sized bitch move when the game is all but over. But to pour salt in the wound, after the steal Crowder looks like he's going to dribble out the clock and retreats to the sideline. Then he launches a three. You just can't do that type of shit, twice. It's completely disrespectful. Payton can't go decking him like that but Crowder exhibited terrible sportsmanship. I don't blame Payton for being pissed.

    Yes.

Crowder was acting an ass most of the 2nd half. What he did at the end was a bitch move and was rightfully addressed.

  9. If Kawhi leads THE Clippers to the finals (don't have to win, just make the finals) he moves to number 1 on my best of all time list. Pass MJ, KAJ, LBJ, Magic/Bird.

I know the Lob City era changed some folks minds but they still a cursed, can't quite get right franchise to me (Walton, Manning, Danny Ferry, Sterling, Cassell 10 secs, etc). If Kawhi can overcome all that history he's the greatest to ever play in the NBA.

just finished last night . s5 wasn't bad withe the exception of scott templton that dudes a dick . but everything comes full circle . hate that marlo becomes the new stringer but mike prolly has something to say about that (at least in my head)  . overall great show , i already miss it . probably give it another go after football season .

Why do you think Marlo becomes like Stringer Bell? I thought him leaving the event and returning to the corner was more like Avon.

Which characters did you enjoy the most? Any favorite storyline(s)?
