  1. I had the Slay allotment of tickets that game. Got them from a friend who I believe played baseball with Slay Sr.
  2. It puts them in the realm of Utah, Michigan, and USC. Decent teams but no shot to make the CFB. The argument from the committee would have to be extra data point, but isn't that exactly the consideration Texas fans are asking for?
  3. With a loss it would be 17 +/-, depending on the other games. They probably would be left out given the field, but who knows what the committee would actually do.
  4. Our postgame win expectancy against tOSU is higher than Georgia's postgame win expectancy against us. And posters here are convinced UGA thrashed us, so we must have utterly dominated tOSU.
  5. UGA basically lost to Auburn as well. The SEC had to fire the ref crew.
  6. We don't have the worst loss at all. Teams above us have lost to Louisville, Arizona State, and Florida State.
  7. Vertical is power rating. Horizontal just spreads out of conferences evenly with some jitter to avoid overlap. It's just a useful way to compare the parity and strength of conferences.
  8. My CFB Predictor - "Most deserving", if you will. Strength of Record - Power Ranking - Reliability of Power Ranking (ranked) That third column is a math thing, not a team thing. It's a measure of how possible it even is to power rank / eyetest your team based on the quality of matchups played over the season. It's kind of what I'm wanting to show given this new era of football, conference size, and the concentration of talent. The top 6 Power teams are all 100+ in reliability, and I really think we are flying blind into the playoffs this year more than others. We are also in an era of football where the difficulty of winning the ACC is closer to the American than it is to the SEC.
  9. That's a solid guess. Committee will want to put Oregon 5 based on what we've seen, but that will mess up first round matchups.
  10. I completely understand this and wouldn't be mad if the AD changed stances. However, I prefer to say that we lead by example and are trying to do what's best for the sport. And would prefer we continue to do so.
  11. 8/10 most watched CFB games last year did not happen in the playoffs, including the #1. And tOSU vs Texas was more watched than all of them.
  12. Miami lost to a Louisville team 4-4 in the ACC. I've been told bad losses are disqualifying.
  13. And most teams above us have a similar wtf loss. The UF loss isn't uniquely terrible at all.
  14. I think the selection process is better. 4 was better than 12. 6 or 8 is probably the sweet spot. Bowl games are undoubtedly worse and probably dying, which is honestly worse than the conference stacking.
  15. Playoff format isn't the issue with college football. Lack of standardized scheduling and a growing unbalance between conferences are the main issues. Is the CFP any better than the BCS was? Still no one schedules good OOC matchups, selection process still largely ignores body of work and scheduling, teams with a shot to win are left out in favor of "feelsgood" teams.
  16. UGA needed a lot of ref help to make it where they are. At a minimum they lose to a terrible Auburn team.
  17. B12 conference removed two bluebloods and added 4 easy wins. It wasn't as bad as the ACC until we left.
  18. Not trying to fuel hope, but one of the Foxsports writers published his ballot and had us 9th.
  19. The 3rd loss is tOSU because it's a game that's not necessary and that most teams wouldn't schedule.
  20. If two losses is the only practical standard, then schedule like Indiana, Tech, and Notre Dame do.
  21. Compare our losses to Bama's. Georgia > OU Florida > FSU It's not the bad loss that hurt us.
  22. Citrus or Reliquest vs Michigan or USCw
  23. Vandy actually has a good offense. It keeps them in games.
  24. For at least 10 minutes into Q1.
  25. Expanding the current format won't be the way forward. We are moving toward a P2 invitational where B1G/SEC get multiple guaranteed spots and everyone else is at large.
