  1. Texas 44 Rice 7 Ewers probably isn't going to be playing much in the second half, and I expect the play calling (on both sides of the ball) to be as vanilla as possible. We'll win the game without a doubt, but a successful night will be if will give 'Bama no video worth studying.
  2. The ACC only has 14 Football schools; 15 is with ND in non-football sports. I assume if any one of those 15 leave it would allow ESPN to renegotiate. The problem with Brett McMurphy's point is that he doesn't explain how the ACC could drop below 15 schools. They all signed the GOR that goes through 2036. FSU wants to leave really bad. If they had a way to do that, they would be doing it. Unless Georgia Tech or Wake just decides to bail out of all sports, I'm not seeing the ACC going below 15....So there is no need to add teams as an insurance policy. Am I missing something?
  3. I thought someone bumped an old thread. ... This is new? wow. I assume the OP was in a coma for 24 months, is just re#arded.
  4. If I was Pootin, I'd come out and say shit like "Prigozhin's was a close personal friend and a true Russian patriot; if he was killed, I'll hold those responsible" Nobody (outside of Russia) will believe it, but it would probably play to the Wagner rank and file and be just enough to make them do nothing.
  5. Welp, so much for the it's-a-done-deal-Cal-is-in fan fiction.
  6. ACC Presidents were supposed to meet at 8am this morning. #include <Ted Baxter- Well? We're Waiting.>
  7. 99.99% of the concerts I've been to have terrible open acts. I wonder if bands do that on purpose to not have any chance of being upstage. The only one I've attended in person that falls in this category is the Monsters of Rock in 88 or 89. Five bands on the bill, with Van Halen being he headliner, and the scorpions the number two band. Metallica was just blowing up and brought an attitude and volume that blew the stadium away. The scorpions seem so tame and old by comparison. Van Halen acted like big man on campus, but I think they knew as well that Metallica won the day.
  8. Yeah, but can they drive it fast, .... and furious?
  9. Wasn't there supposed to be another ACC vote around noon today? Wasn't that part of the rumor package that was bundled with the "Stanford willing to take zero payout" stories. Please don't tell me someone on the Internet was just making shit up.
  10. I don't have a problem with this. She was actively pointing a gun at people and was an active threat. If you do stuff like that, you should expect the police to neutralize you.
  11. That's odd, 5 days, but only One Night In Bangkok:
  12. A commonly sited rule for Max HR when working out is "220-age". While there is no scientific basis for that rule, its a really good rule of thumb that works for most people. Based on that, her Orange Theory HR numbers aren't a concern as long as the HR drops off quickly when she stops the activity. Even the "close to 200" number isn't that out of band. The resting HR is more eyebrow raising. There are some people that have a high resting HR for no reason and it's fine, on the other hand there are a ton of bad things that can cause high HR. Here's an study looking at exactly that titled: "Association between resting heart rate and coronary artery disease, stroke, sudden death and noncardiovascular diseases: a meta-analysis" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5056889/ So tell your daughter to mention it to her doctor.
  13. Come on, man. You're not really saying that this guy: is better than THIS GUY: That kit goes to 11. OK, he may in fact be compensating for something.
  14. I don't believe they can if she resigns and is out of the Senate. What they can do is block a swap of membership on the judiciary committee if she is still in the Senate. Resign and the Dems could regain control; stay and it's basically deadlocked. Clearly from the photos and video that we've all seen, Feinstein is not making any decisions herself. Which means her staff has the power of a US Senator. I would assume they don't want to give up that power.
  15. As for "clouding test results", you're probably under the mistaken belief that roadside breathalyzer's are accurate. Or that Cops giving roadside test are honest. They aren't. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/03/business/drunk-driving-breathalyzer.html If you get pulled over, by all means, blow into one of them. There's probably a 50/50 chance it'll be correct. Having a legal limit of 0.0 is as bad of an idea as the Eighteenth Amendment.
  16. MADD was a good idea run amok. Plain and simple, when you lower the drinking limit below a reasonable level and then encourage PDs to over arrest for DUI, you destroy lives. Here's a nice money quote: https://www.statesman.com/story/news/local/2011/06/14/prosecutor-says-evidence-lacking-in/6703752007/ Of course Art Asshole went to Houston and did the the same shit: https://apnews.com/article/e5a5ea2314f54cb0bd08ad3b6344e585 (Houston police report sharp jump in drunken-driving arrests) Sucks for all thousands of people that got bogus arrests for DUI
  17. Son, if the whole world is against you, you probably need to take a good hard look in the mirror, because it's most likely you that's all fucked up.
  18. I spent the first 5 year of my career in Silicon Valley, and that was 100% my experience. Outsiders (non-students or alumni) are not welcome at the Stanford or Cal pregame tailgates. There is no community support in Palo Alto or Berkeley, unless someone is making a buck off it. And outside of alumni, nobody in the bay area give a single fuck about the so called 'big game'. I moved from the Bay Area to a Big-10 town, and it was amazing, the tailgates and fan support was the whole fucking town. Didn't matter where you were from or where you went to school, once you were there, you were welcome to join the party. Hell, I even bought a team sweat jacket for the year I was there. It will be some nice schadenfreude when Stanford and Cal drop to FCS.
  19. The remaining four PAC-4 teams need to think outside the box and turn the 2024 season into a must-watch spectacle. I'm thinking they should do some really crazy stuff like schedule the other three teams 3-times where: the scores carry over, but points count double in the 4th quarter of games 2 and 3. have a 'Throw-Back Toughest-Man' quarter where there are no subs and the 11 players have to play Offense and Defense. Or require 100 different players to get at least 5 minutes of playing time. Or require them to play all females for 1 quarter for one of the games. Make it such a train-wreck that people have to watch. .... but advertise it as a 1-season deal. Watch now or you'll never see this shit again. Fuck the NCAA and the NCAA-rule book, it's not like any of the 4 teams are going to be making the playoffs. Maybe hire an XFL or reality-TV producer to help or they could just buy me more vodka shots.
  20. How does UCLA plan to get around the California State-Funded travel ban? Four Big Ten States are on that list. Wait...2 Pac-12 states are on that list as well: AZ and UT. How is Cal or UCLA able to play games in either of those states?
  21. Apple wouldn't sell many Stanford streaming packages in Silicon Valley: nerdy white guys and Indian developers don't watch much football.
  22. Or maybe add Colorado State. Not a current P5 team so it might cause a $$ problem, but it stays in the Mountain time zone and there is a bit of nice symmetry with just having added Colorado. The big-12 could have an annual "Who's the big brother" weekend for the schools in Arizona, Kansas, Colorado, and Baylor/Houston/Tech/Tcu.
