“We’ve compiled a list of individuals to hold accountable.”, or something like that, but it was a knee slapper when it happened.
Did a helicopter really go down after getting too close, or was that added for TV effect? -
Turns out the uncensored quote by Isaacs/Zhukov is:
QuoteI fucked Germany, I think I can take a flesh-lump in a fucking waistcoat !
Still lol every time I watch it.

This was a great movie. Deserves far more play than it has gotten.

This film was great. Villenueve is a master and I thought (man voice aside) Sylvia Hoeks quietly did a great job considering she got more screen time than Leto or Wright.

I don't think it's possible. The pattern that hit Intel is the same one that hit Microsoft, IBM, AT&T, and DEC before them, and is the same one that will hit Apple in the mobile space eventually.
In the 3 examples I listed of companies that changed themselves -- IBM, Apple and AMD -- the company had either already been disrupted and made a change in response to that (IBM), or they were not the leaders in the first place (Apple re: the Mac, and AMD).
Apple is an interesting example, because they actually were the market leader with the Apple II, but at the time of its market dominance the company's management had absolutely zero interest in even acknowledging the product's existence. They were putting all of their efforts into the Apple III instead; literally every ad for the Apple II was a 3rd-party company selling pieces to the Apple II's ecosystem. (Source: I am Woz, Steve W's autobio.)
My understanding was that Woz wanted to continue and advance the market leading Apple II but Jobs pushed the shitty Mac and subsequently nerfed the Apple II platform evolution. Evidently there are still legions of apple fanboys pissed at Jobs about it.

I too saw this on the plane and thought it was very good. It is nice to see a good historical comedy. Tambor, Buscemi, and Isaacs were really good.

only gun dorks give a shit about that.
Maybe, but it looked uncoordinated and dumb regardless. For Del Toro to brag about his family LE connections, and reference going to the gun range often, he sure looked like he was full of shit.

Interesting. Where did u hear that stuff about BDT and Brolin?
I thought the movie was fine. Basically met my expectations and was worth the time. However, im wondering what Sheridans script actually looked like, if true
Couldn't find all the articles I had read, but did find this.
Quote“Day of the Soldado” follows Alejandro and Mr. Brolin’s character, a cocksure government bulldog, on a mission to incite a war between rival drug cartels in Mexico. Mr. Del Toro and Mr. Brolin anchor the film — neither Ms. Blunt nor Mr. Villeneuve returned — and were unusually empowered, in collaboration with a new director, Stefano Sollima, to take liberties with Mr. Sheridan’s script.
“Taylor’s a great writer, but we definitely started ripping it apart,” Mr. Brolin said.
Scenes were expanded or discarded; subplots and transitions were created on the fly, and Mr. Del Toro, as he has throughout his career, occupied himself by endowing his character with vivid and imaginative details.
And
QuoteIn another instance, Mr. Del Toro reimagined an early execution scene, deciding on a ferocious, rapid-fire shooting style for his character in which one index finger, turned palm-side down, is repeatedly rammed against the trigger of a pistol.
The result played so well on camera that it was used in the movie’s trailer and became a meme.
Del Toro didn't even bump-fire correctly.
Sicario worked because it was a parable about the public's naivete and the necessity of good men doing bad things to protect good people. Turning the sequel into a familiar trope about bad governmental actors and the supposed immorality of fighting fire with fire ruined that dynamic. Rian Johnson would be proud.
