  1. I think Holliday should be a minimum guy. If he can get 5m from someone else, farewell. I would much rather see them spend on a better player than worth about 11-14m a year rather than keeping Holliday. Hopefully he's the last to sign after a couple more deals to fill out the bench. KD is gonna thrive in this environment, he's never had the 2-10 support for a full season like this team will offer him.

This cat's got it. He's exceptional and I look forward to the old guard Dems being replaced by younger, vibrant, engaged fighters like Zohran.

Yeah, this guy needs to do more interviews and dispel the myths and slanderous labels being thrown on him. That was 20 minutes of solid, clear, concise and excellent answers to real questions. My biggest concern with him is his lack of experience. His resume isn't exactly something I would expect from someone running for mayor of NYC:

"The son of academic Mahmood Mamdani and filmmaker Mira Nair, Mamdani was born in Uganda and briefly lived in South Africa. He immigrated to the United States with his family when he was seven years old and settled in New York City. After graduating from the Bronx High School of Science, Mamdani earned a bachelor's degree in Africana studies from Bowdoin College. He worked as a housing counselor and hip-hop musician before entering politics. He was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2020, defeating four-term incumbent Aravella Simotas in a Democratic primary. Mamdani was reelected without opposition in 2022 and 2024."

While he appears to be a smart guy, with lots of upside, I'm surprised he didn't go for another position maybe lower on the NYC political ladder first. Good luck to him and I hope he wins, however, anyone would be better option than Adams.

He's not even a starter anymore and averaged 7 ppg in the playoffs.  That's a terrible deal but hey, good for him.

OKC gave Caruso 20m a year for 4 years, and he started all of 3 games last year and averaged 7.1 points a game, lol...

  4. Seems like a good deal for Jabari. It's a little overpay for what he is right now, but with the way the cap will grow the next 5 years, and what we hope he develops into as a player, it should be a good deal.  Or maybe it just becomes another trade chip next offseason like Jalen Green's extension did this year.  Either way, that's a win for the team, and it guarantees Jabari is set for life if he's smart with his money. Can't blame anyone for doing that.

Now extend KD for 1-2 years at a reasonable rate, and we are golden.

  5. This might be a dumb question, but how exactly is it illegal for a player to not score points so his friends can win an under bet? What law is being broken, or is this a contract issue with something buried in the terms of his NBA player agreement?

I think the betting sites should be at fault for taking the risk, they know that someone may take advantage of their easily manipulated bets.

this is my favorite. He's unsure the direction or future of the lakers, but a billionaire...he opts in fully into a 52 million dollar deal  to make sure the Lakers cant add anyone aroudn him and Luka

Yeah, for having such a high basketball IQ, Lebron just doesn't care about how the team could improve by him taking say 35m a year instead, and giving them more room to work with. Getting another ring with the Lakers would be infinitely more valuable to him and his legacy than an extra 20m in salary.

Cleveland just traded for Lonzo Ball, could mean that they expect Ty Jerome to leave via FA. I'd take him over the guy from Minnesota.

I think the signing of Merrill may be more important to that end.  Their cap is shooting up with the Mobley extension kicking in this year, and the Okoro/Ball swap was to drop salary for next year. It saves the Cavs 1m this year, but that's nothing.  They are well over the 2nd apron right now, and that's without re-signing Ty.  He's likely going to leave in free agency to a team with a full MLE, but the Cavs could still offer him and pay out the nose in luxury tax if he stays. I'm not really sure if they will or not.

I do think the Cavs may try to move Garland though. He's making 39m and appears to be the most expendable of the top 4 guys. He's a young, promising player who could be attractive to a team partway through the process of rebuilding.  He's their best opportunity to drop some salary and get a decent player back to fill the gap without losing much.

i was expecting somewhere around 20-25. didnt think hed get to 30M/yr.

now figure out what to do with Julius

New Orleans has proved to be morons, maybe trade Randle for Murray?  Salaries are pretty close, you might be able to swap them for a couple of 2nds. Murray could be a good backcourt pairing with Ant, as he can share the ball, is a good defender and can run the offense for the 12 minutes when Ant's on the bench. I think if Murray gets out of NOLA, he will have a good bounce-back year.

Ainge has no reason to trade Bailey.   If he wants to play in the NBA he will play in UTAH unless he is going to sit out a yr and not play anywhere

I hope he does, couldn't happen a nicer franchise.

  10. I think it's kinda nice of the empire to send Dedra to a prison sentence doing something she loves, building the Death Star until she dies.

Do you think she knows that?
