There’s that whole “he can help us win baseball games” thing. But I know as an Astros fan you aren’t used to viewing prospects like that

Because the Yankees don't trade their prospects for other team's players???  Lol...

Case in point--look at the tear down and reconstruction that the Dodgers did over the off-season.  That's a great example of a GM looking at the roster, record, and going "we're not winning championships doing the same thing as last year."

And yet they still employ Dave Roberts...

  3. Denver got wrecked at home, and that was without Gobert. I thought this would be an easy win for them without Rudy, but they just couldn't get anything going on offense. The Twolves defense is so vicious, and it's so much fun to watch. I'm rooting for them to come out of the West.

  4. Community - Never get tired of re-watching Season 1-5 (yes even the gas leaks season). I love all the characters, the themes, the positive lessons throughout the shows, and the character growth as they aged. The way the show weaves storylines through its characters is so well done, it makes episodes feel satisfying. Can't wait for the movie to put the cherry on top of it all, maybe if it does well they make a trilogy. I could watch them play D&D in this world for hours!

30 Rock - Smart, witty, entertaining characters and dialogue, really easy to rewatch.

Parks and Rec - I liked a lot of this show, but there were characters and parts that bug me. The first season and the last 1-2 were pretty weak overall, but lots of good stuff in its prime.

Big Bang Theory - I enjoy the nerd-face and the comedy that slap on it. It's cheap, low effort and hollow, but it's a Chuck Lorre sitcom, so that should be expected.

Modern Family - Ehhh, never found this show to be all that hilarious. I watched it for a couple seasons when it started back in 2009 well before I had kids, so maybe watching it now would make me appreciate it more.

  5. 1 score game with 6 to go in New York. Indy is doing well to keep the pace up and make it hard for NY to set their defense every play.

  6. The multiverse implications are really interesting, since nearly everything post End Game has been around that theme. Really can't say enough good things about this show, every episode has been intriguing and fun. It's one of those shows you never skip the intro, like Animaniacs, Saved by the Bell or Freakazoid!

  7. Good comeback by the Cavs to get their first playoff series win without LeBron since 1993. Very important win for the team to help convince Mitchell to stay another 4 years. He's the closest thing they will get to a Superstar this decade, so they need to hang on to him.  If they can take 2 from Boston, I'll be happy, but would love to see the upset and rematch with the Knicks. Gonna need Allen back, so let's hope he's OK before game 1, or it's gonna be ugly.

That 93 Cavs team beat the Nets, and went on to get steamrolled by the Bulls in the second round. It was a good team with Larry Nance, Brad Daugherty, Mark Price, Craig Ehlo, Steve Kerr, Danny Ferry and Hotrod Williams, but that early 90s team ran into the Bulls a few times and got wrecked. Let's hope this version of the Cavs can do better.

  8. I really hope Mitchell doesn't bail on this team, he's really fun to watch and clearly the best player they have. Put a healthy Jarrett Allen on the floor and they would be a tough out for anyone.

I watched all of the Falcons' games last year so I could see Bijan.  That team was in the worst division in the NFL.  They had the easiest SOS in the league.  They had a solid roster.  Great O-line, Bijan is Barry Sanders lite, Drake London catches everything, Pitts has fallen off but he's a weapon, and their defense was very good.  They could easily have won 12 games.  Instead, they lost to the Titans playing a rookie QB in his first start.  They lost to Arizona on Kyler's first game back from a year layoff.  They lost to the Sam Howell led Commanders.  They lost to the Vikings when the Passtronaut had only been on the team for like two days and didn't even know the plays.  They lost to the fucking Panthers when they had to have a win to secure a playoff spot.  Why?  Because their QB was absolute garbage.  Just gave multiple games away with his turnovers.  Guys would be running wide open and he wouldn't even see them and instead would throw ducks into double coverage.  Bijan had to catch every pass jumping with one hand because Ridder was so inaccurate with his throws.

So is it goofy for the Falcons to go whole hog on the QB?  Yeah.  But I get it.  Bad QB play ruins your entire team.  The Falcons don't want to be in a situation where they're forced to play a sub-par QB with this roster they have and ruining a new coach's start with their organization.  If you just go with Kirk or just go with Penix starting as a rookie and it doesn't work, you're right back to Heinicke and being fucked.  So maybe it wasn't the correct decision, but if you've watched the shit show that is the Falcons' offense since Matt Ryan left, it's an understandable one.

They already had Cousins under contract, why on earth would they need to spend a top 10 pick on another QB? If you really think Cousins is going to get hurt that easily, don't give him that deal or pick the 2nd best OT in the draft to protect him. Having a backup QB is important, but literally nobody spends a 1st on it only to be a Plan B. They could have done a lot of other things, like picking Rattler in the 4th instead. That's where a normal team picks a backup QB, not 8th overall.

  10. Tied with the Angels for 4th in the division, and 5 games back from the Mariners in first. Keep plugging away and winning against the division, and they should be right up there by the end of the month.

  11. The refs are really letting them play tonight. Lots of collisions not getting a whistle, lots of moving screens on both sides. If the Cavs could hit a 3 consistently, this game would be over by now, but here we are. Really missing Jarrett Allen tonight, they are getting killed on the boards and down low, Niang should not be playing this much.
