Well, we know that Iraq and Jordan have closed theirs. I doubt Saudi and Turkey want Iranian shit flying above. So, really, that just leaves Syria/Lebanon, which is back to Square 1.

    12 minutes, right?

Yes. And read the first post again. So if the IAF hits Iran they going to fly around the entire Middle East?

  2. Iranian state news reports first wave of ballistic missiles fired toward Israel

From CNN's Hamdi Alkhshali and Adam Pourahmadi

Iranian state news IRNA reported that the first barrage of ballistic missiles has been launched toward Israel, citing an informed Iranian source.

  3. Iran says it will target any country that opens its airspace for an Israeli attack against Iran

From CNN's Hamdi Alkhshali and Adam Pourahmadi

Iran's Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Mohammad Reza Ashtiani issued a stark warning to any country that allows Israel to utilize its airspace or territory for attacking Iran, saying they will face a “decisive response” from Iran.

“Any country that opens its airspace or soil to Israel to attack Iran will receive our decisive response,” state news IRNA reported, quoting Ashtiani.

Sirens sound in northern Israeli kibbutz

Sirens have sounded in a northern Israeli kibbutz, the Israel Defence Force has said.

The siren comes amid the impending drone and missile attack launched by Iran and after rockets were fired from Lebanon.

Earlier, IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari told citizens they must enter a shelter and stay there for at least 10 minutes if a siren sounds in their area.

"We will update you if you need to stay in the shelter for a longer period," he added.

I don't think either side wants open warfare with boots on the ground, unless we want Israel to go in I guess. Iran is ripe for another American sponsored regime change, I suppose. Surely this time it will work out great! /s

That was a point I made earlier. How are either going to get there?

All that said, the real thing to watch is what OUR diplomats in Israel do. If they're staying put, this is probably not considered that much of a threat.

You don't pull people out as it starts. We did not withdraw our critical staff since Gaza kicked off. We did announce no travel/movement.

Neither can really invade the other. Iran can use Hezbollah, maybe some groups in Syria. Israel can hit Iranian targets.

More of a tit for that using air forces. One thing Iran can do is fuck up the oil shipments from the Gulf.

  8. From Sky.

Iran says it has launched missiles at Israel

Iran has also launched missiles at Israel, its Revolutionary Guards has said.

In a statement quoted by state media, the branch of the Iranian Armed Forces said it has targeted specific places in Israel with dozens of drones and missiles.

The Israeli military confirmed a salvo of drones had been launched from the country and could take "several hours" to arrive.

Israeli media has reported the drones could start arriving at around 2am local time (12am UK time) but the missiles could arrive sooner.

Is this confirmed? I've just started scanning sites and haven't seen this yet.

No, but they have the capability and coordination. It was a thought that came to mind.

does IDF have any B-2’s on ‘loan’ ?

Doubt it. But Flight Tracker 24 showing US air assets (tankers) up over iraq.

  13. Iraq closed its airspace. I would hate to be on a commercial flight in the area right now. We have three of our team moving around the region. All have halted their movement.

CBS broke the masters coverage to update on this.

Send in drones to drain off sir defenses, then overwhelm said air defenses. I hope IDF has those laser defenses ready to go

And at the same time launch from Yemen and Lebanon. Can the IAF handle all three?

  16. Sahel is not going to get any better. Well not soon anyways.

Dozens of Russian military instructors have arrived in Niger as part of a new agreement with the country's junta, which has cut links with the West.

State media reported that they arrived along with a state-of-the-art air defence system.

They are expected to install the system and teach Niger's army how to use it.

The West African country is one several in the Sahel region ruled by military authorities to have recently strengthened ties with Russia.

A spokesperson for Niger's military government on Friday said the Russians were in the country to train soldiers.

  17. KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine’s military chief on Saturday warned that the battlefield situation in the industrial east has “significantly worsened in recent days,” as warming weather allowed Russian forces to launch a fresh push along several stretches of the more 1,000 km-long (620-mile) front line.

In an update on the Telegram messaging app, Gen. Oleksandr Syrskyy said that Moscow had “significantly” ramped up its assaults since President Vladimir Putin extended his nearly quarter-century rule in a preordained election last month that saw anti-war candidates barred from the ballot and independent voices silenced in a Kremlin-backed media blockade.

According to Syrskyy, Russian forces have been “actively attacking” Ukrainian positions in three areas of the eastern Donetsk region, near the cities of Lyman, Bakhmut and Pokrovsk, and beginning to launch tank assaults as drier, warmer spring weather has made it easier for heavy vehicles to move across previously muddy terrain

  18. Damn this is messed up. Perpetrator not identified yet.

SYDNEY (AP) — A man stabbed six people to death at a busy Sydney shopping center Saturday before he was fatally shot, police said, with hundreds fleeing the chaotic scene, many weeping as they carried their children. Eight people, including a 9-month-old, were injured.

New South Wales police said they believed a 40-year-old man was responsible for the Saturday afternoon attack at the Westfield Shopping Centre in Bondi Junction, in the city’s eastern suburbs. They said they were not able to name him until a formal identification had taken place but that they weren’t currently treating the attack as terrorism-related.

The man was shot dead by a female police inspector after he turned and raised a knife, New South Wales Assistant Police Commissioner Anthony Cooke told reporters.

“This all happened very, very quickly — the officer that was in the vicinity attended on her own, was guided to the location of the offender by people who were in the center,” he said. “She took the actions that she did saving a range of people’s lives.”

  19. Matthew Miller, Department Spokesperson

The United States welcomes today’s establishment of a Transitional Presidential Council (TPC) in Haiti.  The result of months of discussion among diverse Haitian stakeholders, this Council helps pave the way for free and fair elections and the expedited deployment of a Multinational Security Support mission.  We applaud Haitians for their commitment to move forward in a spirit of reconciliation and national dialogue.  We remain committed to working with CARICOM and international partners to support the TPC’s mission to work for and improve the lives of all Haitians.

The security situation in Haiti remains untenable due to the violence caused by gangs that claim to represent the Haitian people but thrive on violence and misery.  Gangs have shut down key infrastructure and economic sites that are lifelines for fuel, humanitarian aid, and other vital supplies, and continue to strip Haitians of their rights to food, education, and healthcare.  The United States is surging support for the Haitian security forces to bolster their capabilities as they fight to defend their country.

We commend Haitian leaders for making tough compromises to move toward democratic governance via free and fair elections.  Much work lies ahead, and the United States remains committed to supporting the people of Haiti.
